I'm surprised Hasbro Pulse didn't put up the Skeleton Crew figures for pre order today since it seems BBTS and EE did.
I'll definitely get the Brutus figure. I mean, it's a werewolf pirate in Star Wars. That's a must have. But it always surprises me when EP I figures don't sell that well. It shouldn't I guess, but I LOVE Episode I, and I often forget that it is one of the most hated of the Star Wars films by so many fans. I don't know why. It's so cool and fun of a movie.
In my head, Sebulba is every bit as important as a Werewolf Pirate.
Has anybody seen a link for the Skeleton Crew preorders on Amazon? I'm holding off on the kids but I want Brutus and Jod enough to grab them for sure, but I usually try to preorder different lines from different places so I can keep track of them now (BBTS gets my MOTU, TMNT, import business; usually Pulse is where I get Star Wars or Amazon in a pinch). Don't want to miss out on the werewolf space pirate so I'm tempted to just grab him from BBTS anyway. (The trailer looks like fun so I'll probably end up with the full set but less of a rush this time.)
TBS Skeleton Crew Figures Available on Amazon | Yakface.com
Go to this link and Yakface has the links to Amazon. I don't think Brutus is there though, and I don't know if any of them are currently available to pre order.
@supercamel-1982 Thanks! Haven't been too many hard to get figures lately but just keeping an eye out in case this particularly cool alien gains a fan base early.
I still quite enjoy TPM. If you get rid of Jar Jar, it's actually a really good movie imo. It's definitely fun, and has one of the best saber fights and songs in the entire series. Liam Neeson is awesome. Darth Maul was always really cool imo. And we got introduced to Obi Wan who was always one of my fave characters.
Sebulba is way more important than Werewolf Pirate.
Yeah... I broke my own solemn oath not to buy any more Star Wars figures until I could buy Kelnacca and I ordered Brutus. I can't resist a good werewolf looking head like that. I could give two farts about Sebulba, but have to have Brutus, so I'm definitely one of your guys that pumped those numbers up for wolf captain.
I ordered Mr. Wolf Pirate, because... cool Wolf dude in a Star Wars aesthetic pirate costume! But...I decided to hold off on Sebulba as well, so I definitely am one of the folks who contributed to this interesting statistic. I don't hate Episode I, but it is one of my least favorite entries in the Saga. I'm just not in a rush for that character, and the fact that he is the same price as a full sized figure makes me feel like he really isn't worth the price. If I find him on sale somewhere down the line, I'll definitely pick him up to fill out my Cantina or Jabba's palace displays, but he isn't a "must have" for me.
I guess there is going to be a new 2 Pack with a Super Battle Droid and Phase I Clone Trooper in it. In packaging like the Clone Trooper and Battle Droid Pack, and the Stormtrooper and Rebel Fleet Trooper Pack.
I'll probably buy 1 or 2. I can always use more Prequel army builders.
Just found Indara at Target. This is the first I've seen an Acolyte wave figure at Target - I thought they had skipped carrying this wave.
Has anyone else found TBS Acolyte figs at Target? Her UPC does not ring up when I scan it with the app.
I found Sol a few times. And the twins. I'm waiting for a sale for them so I didn't get them.
Ok so, I don't want this to sound pervy, but it's gonna. I was looking at pics of Shaak Ti and Luminara. And going in line with Shaak Tis TFU figure a little, are their boobs too small? Like, I remember the old figures in the 3 3/4 line being slightly more prominent. Now I'm not saying they're supposed to be like Aayla or Talon, even maybe not Assajj. But, to me, they both look a little flat. Like, you can tell there's something there, but I've seen bigger ones on a 50 year old fat guy. I unno, they just don't look right from those pics. Maybe I'm remembering the old figures wrong. Was wondering if it was my imagination or if it was maybe Hasbros idea of trying not to sexualize them too much.
I've seen most of the Acolyte figures at Target- still never seen Jecki in a brick and mortar store other than a comic shop, but I've seen all the others at least once. Osha is still the one I see most often, but the others are actually a little hard to find right now.
I get what you mean, Trunks. Personally, as someone not interested in the boobages of ladies, I feel I can kind of look unbiased. To me, Shaak Ti and Luminara have always been rather chaste and regal. Obviously the Jedi are about modesty as-is, but especially in their Clone Wars appearances, Shaak Ti is always rather by-the-book and in line with Jedi teachings. Heck- in 2 of her ROTS deaths, she's shown meditating. I know they just threw that out the window with her TFU appearance, but not only is that not considered canon anymore, but obviously shows a much angrier, more feral Shaak Ti. She's always been one of my favorite Jedi just from a cool alien perspective, but something about her TFU appearance always struck me as out of character, even back in the day. I don't remember Luminara's personality a whole lot, but just going off look, in my head canon, she and Barriss have always been rather studious and in-line with Jedi teachings, which is part of what made Barriss' betrayal such a big deal. Luminara and Barriss both, but also Shaak Ti (at least to me) always had a sort of religious feel to them, especially when compared to someone like Aayla, who always struck me as a bit younger, probably a bit more lithe and limber in her ways of using the Force, so she doesn't feel the need to be as covered. Aayla is also a Twi'lek, and I think it's become law- written or unwritten- that all female Twi'leks have to show a certain amount of skin.
All of that is to say, I think the smaller, almost religiously bound boobs are in-line with their characters. The earlier actions figures may have enlargened them a bit (lots of early 00's toys that were targeted to boys kind of did that, I feel), but don't mistake them for moons.
(I never thought I'd ever talk about boobs so much, especially alien boobs, especially especially alien action figure boobs. My dad must be rolling in his grave!)
Those Acolyte figures have been sticking around GameStop pegs for a month.
Pulse has the whole Skeleton Crew wave in stock right now. I picked up the two adults right away (Brutus for all the reasons we've been discussing, Jude Law's character just cos I really, really like his design - love a good grimy outer rim style costume). Holding off on the kids to see if I dig the show though.
Times like this I wish the Star Wars fandom wasn't so combative. I can't believe we're living in an era when we can have a brilliant political commentary, a space western, an Amblin-style series, a Jedi gritty mystery, an animated commentary on the way we mistreat veterans, and characters from two beloved animated shows jump to the live screen and people are mad about it.
I got Brutus the Werewolf Pirate. I had pre ordered him elsewhere but cancelled in anticipation of Pulse getting them in. That way I could get free shipping. If it turns out Jude Law is a Jedi, I'll get him too. The rest, I need to wait and see. My cousin keeps telling me Neel is a great character though. He's really excited for people to see him on the show.
