Just picked up Mon Mothma and this figure is absolutely beautiful! The sculptor is an asshole for making the heels two drastically different lengths. I never have issues with heeled figures, but these heels aren't even close to the same length.

That said, seeing this beauty next Holdo just shows why soft goods should never be a thing at this scale. Agatha Harkness from Marvel Legends is another great example of how much better plastic looks.

It makes me want a Theed Palace Queen Amidala ASAP!

Is this why I'm having such a hard time getting her to stay upright? I've got the right leg splayed out but she's been very hard. The heels don't look like different lengths.

But yes to everything else you said! 🙂

So, first I will say that Krssantan arrived and I love him almost as much as I thought I would.   So glad I skipped that ridiculous slapped together repaint effort they released previously.   BUT....  doesn't he feel a tad short?   I felt like "Santo" was big even by Wookie standards and this figure is shorter than my Halloween wookie from last year.  Oh well, still cool to have.

Krssantan is probably a good size. But that probably means the Chewbacca figures were not. Too tall, and like R2-D2 they are course correcting.

I'm not against it, but I would have liked a bigger Krssantan  figure too.

Got these three guys in yesterday and had some time to mess with them. I don't have much to say about Luke and R2 other than I think they're both great--both of them are probably the best rendition Hasbro has done for the characters, though the BoBF Luke still has my favorite headsculpt. Neither of them is necessarily better than the Figuarts, but then neither of them is anywhere near as expensive, and in R2's case, actually comes with more accessories.

Vader on the other hand, is a disappointment. I wanted to like him, but not only do I not think he's better than Figuarts, he's not even better than the ESB Vader. The removable helmet--try as I might--just never sits perfectly. The Sebastian Shaw likeness is not great, and the skin tone is flat out wrong. The severed hand looks okay, but Figuarts got it way better. And in some ways they went backwards compared to ESB.

The red lenses are inaccurate to anything we see on screen in RotJ. The chest box is missing the paint detail of the Hebrew letters as on the ESB version. And lastly, the ESB had a side-to-side hinge on the left hand which allows for more expressive Force poses.

If you don't have a Vader at all, the RotJ is fine. But for me, the ESB is still the Black Series king, while the Figuarts is overall the best.

SHF R2 on the left, RotJ Black Series center, original Black Series R2 on the right--the new R2 is a huge improvement in scale and really comparable to the SHF. Really, only the paint keeps the Black Series from beating the SHF.May be an image of toy and text

New R2 scales great with 3PO

I don't think the Black Series has ever had such a massive upgrade before. Not just the obvious photoreal, but the articulation is leaps and bounds better than the original Jedi Luke. May be an image of 1 person and toyThat face...!!!May be an image of toyI still think the SHF Lke squeeks out a victory over the new Black Series, but it's down to preference. The SHF has slightly better articulation and way more accessories. But I prefer the black Series headsculpt. This is the ESB Vader. Note the black lenses, the more detailed chest box, and the side to side left wrist hinge for subtle Force choke posing. :p May be an image of toyRotJ left, ESB right

Latest Ahsoka episode had me wanting so many figures! And my daughters loved the character designs for some of the aliens in this one.

Spoiler
Ahsoka latest episode:
The remnant troopers look imposing. Enoch looks and sounds awesome. The bandits had such a cool samurai style to their armor. And my daughters want a pet crab alien now.

Yeah. That episode was a joy and I want basically every new character/creature that appeared on screen.

@schizm yeah they are noticeably different lengths, on my copy at least.

Take a look at yours, if it's the same as mine it'll be noticeably obvious.

@nanigans Thanks for taking the time to review those figures.  The skin tone is pretty disappointing on Vader.  Not digging the red lenses either.   Ah well, I was really looking forward to that one, but now I may just leave him carded when I get mine.

R2 and Luke look great, such huge improvements.  The sculpting and paint do look sharper on the figuarts R2, but I'll take that over the figuarts anyway because those little tabs on his doors have always really bugged me personally.  Can always throw a wash on r2 to bring out more details.  It still wont look as sharp as the figuarts, but I bet it will still look great.

Agreed with everyone on all the characters from last nights episode, wow what a fun 47 minutes!

Spoiler
That one trooper with the gladiator style helmet will most definitely be needed and I bet we get him as some sort of Wal-Mart exclusive or some such.

Krrsantan got here yesterday, and he's a chonky boy! Glad I never picked up the comic version- he's certainly worth the wait.

Luke should be here today from Amazon. Really looking forward to him. Never had a Throne Room Luke before, but it's one of my favorite looks for him, so it's about time!

As for last night's Ahsoka:

Spoiler
Ahsoka Episode 6 Spoilers
I'd say Thrawn is a certainty, and I'm going to need Enoch sooner rather than later. I'm sure the Night Troopers are a given as well; just when I try to be good with army builders they come out with a heckin' awesome new one! Can't wait to see what they look like under their helmets (if anything). I'd also love the Great Mothers as well, since I feel it would put us one step closer to a Mother Talzin. Not sure if they'd best be suited as a 3 pack or 3 individual releases, but I'd take them no matter what! I love the Nightsisters (which reminds me, we're still sorely missing a Merrin). Not sure I need scruffy biblical Ezra, but I thought the actor did a really good job getting the little mannerisms down!

Ahsoka Episode 6 Spoilers

I always have a hard time not getting unique Stormtroopers, so I'm probably good for at least two of these guys. Gotta have a grey helmet one and a non-grey, then Enoch is a definite. I'm not even sure if I like that helmet because I find it REALLY unsettling for a Stormtrooper to have a face like that. But I think I like it, heh. Unsettling in a good way.

Thrawn, I've always had a hard time with this casting. I know he did the voice, I know he's a fantastic actor and he's good as the character. but still, something about the look doesn't work for me. And I admit I'm not even a Thrawn fan. But I think a figure of him will probably be like the Hera one for me where I'm just not feelin' it. I did finally break down and order Sabine though.

I would also be down for a couple of those bandits. Star Wars Samurai stuff always makes me a sucker. Boba Fett's pants in Mandalorian, Ahsoka's shoes, hell yeah.

I get what you mean about Thrawn. At the end of the day, he's just a blue guy, not some super interesting looking monster or cyborg or anything. A stoic, calm, collected blue guy at that, so you don't really even get any big evil moments, just small, underplayed ones. He also looks a little rounder than in Rebels, which I guess is to be expected after being stranded on some distant planet for however many years. I don't think Rebels ever even touched on one of the more interesting aspects of his character (at least to me)- the Ysalamiri he keeps. That would be a cool addition to Ahsoka (if not a bit convenient).

I agree about Enoch, though. The blank, unmoving face is quite unsettling. Giving Death Mask vibes. I'm excited to learn more about him (I can already see the Marrok 2.0 talk of who he is starting up again. 🤣)

As much as I'd love the little turtle guys, I see them being more difficult to do in Hasbro's eyes. Completely new parts, and less opportunity for reuse. But if they ever do another creature pack, I'd love to have them included.
