I saw that same shipper when I went home this past week (we don't really have any Wal-Marts convenient enough to me in NY, but there's plenty in KS where I went to visit). None were fully empty, but most were at least halfway sold through. Those little side area shippers are always strange to me, though. The majority of the shipper was lightsabers and those little Doorable things, with one tiny side for Black Series. If someone only saw the front or the other side, they'd think there weren't any Black Series at all. It was also about 6 aisles down from the rest of the toys at the Wal-Marts I went to. I know they're all so different, so it's hard to really say how it's "supposed" to be, but an odd strategy for sure.

I finally got around to starting Star Wars Outlaws last night, and I'm really digging it so far, even if I'm just a few hours in. I miss the high speed action of the recent Fallen Order/Survivor games, but it's actually kinda nice and refreshing to have to take a different approach to things. I'm liking Kay Vess so far, and loving Nix. I think she's at least as likeable a character as Cal- granted, they're both a bit dry, but Kay's certainly a better sense of humor. I hope Hasbro doesn't skip this one entirely. I'd totally take a Kay and Nix for the Smuggler shelf.

Man, hearing about James Earl Jones was a bummer. A true legend, and a crucial part of so many people's childhoods. But what a career he had! I'm tempted to rewatch some of the OT in his honor. It'll make the Mufasa movie coming out soon bittersweet; I hope they throw in a little In Memoriam for him.

Opened my Super Battle Droid today and bent the hell out of the blasters trying to attach the blast effect. Should have left well enough alone.

Side note: I've seen the shippers at Walmart as well at 2 stores. Both were full on BS Acolyte figs even being out for some time.

I did the same thing. I was told there is actually a certain way they need to go on so it doesn't bend the guns. Once I figured out which way that was it was alot easier to get them on and not bend the guns in the process. The bottom is a little closer to the holes then the top. And the right side (if you're looking at the blast effect from the view of the battle droid) is more flat then the left. But again, once you figure out how it goes on its alot better.

That Captain Rex re-issue is happening now, and BBTS has him in stock:

@trunks3540 thank you, I was mostly kidding around though. I am very comfortable liking what I like and dismissing the rest. Even within a show (love most of Obi Wan but ignore the parts I don't). It's an approach more fans should probably consider.

But I do find myself losing interest in the stories about post-rotj. Skeleton Crew is doing something different at least. I'd love for the Mandalorian movie to pull me back in but at present I can muster zero enthusiasm for it.

As someone who has been a fan since I saw the original in the theater in 1977 at the ripe old age of six, I've long ago learned to take this approach. Many have very rose-tinted nostalgia based views when it comes to SW, and forget that the franchise has ALWAYS had some duds along the way, starting with the Holiday Special. The comics, books, video games, etc. have probably featured more outright disappointments than successes even. The EU had some great stuff, but also some truly awful things...sometimes within the same story. Heck, the Heir to the Empire trilogy is widely revered by most fans, but even that gave us idiocy like Luuke!  🙄 Disney SW is no different, honestly. You just have to enjoy the gems and gloss over the crap. Why many SW fans can't seem to take this approach, I don't understand. Perhaps it's the hyperbolic nature of the internet, where everything has to be either a masterpiece or a complete failure? That's the only thing I can think of, honestly, because there isn't a single era of SW where there hasn't been some lackluster, or even downright terrible stories told. I guess it's just easier to blame Disney as they're a monolithic, faceless mega-corporation.

@enigmaticclarity yea I got mine from Gamestop like a month ago. He is literally the same figure. His joints are even still a bit gummy. I wish they would've at least changed the plastic. His head is also smaller then I would like. They'll get people to buy this one then they'll do a new one with better plastic and a proper sized head just to get us to buy him again. Lol.

@thegillman Honestly, I'll blasphemy here, but... the OT isn't at all perfect to me either. But they're a fantastic ride, with some great emotional moments, and for me the ideal popcorn flick. That's basically what I look for in any Star War. Clumsy dialogue/delivery? No problem. Bizarre and outlandish creatures? Sure thing. Space magic? Absolutely. But like you said, it's still easy to enjoy the gems. My only exceptions are Mandalorian Season 3 because it just never grabbed me and got me to care, and Book of Boba Fett, but that's entirely because I was, and still am, way too fixated on my own expectations for what the show should be. But I give myself a pass on that one, heh.

So... with Pulsecon I am hoping for a BS The Stranger. If that's all I get, I'll be happy. BUT... I'd also love a pre-production Boba Fett, or an archive release of the Kenner repaint, Jedi Barriss Offee, a new Cantina alien (I know we just got one in the last five years and I'm threatening to be greedy), any skiff guard even if it's not one on my list, another Task Force 99 trooper, and SOMEBODY from Star Wars Legacy. Bonus would be Li'l Leia Organa and Two Tubes please.

Agree. Even the OT has some eye-rolling moments, especially dialogue wise.

I get it. To me, Mando Season 3 was really uneven. It had some moments I really loved, especially the Mythosaur and all the stuff with Gideon's Mando inspired troopers (and his Praetorian Guards), but it had so many odd, head-scratching story beats that it really drug it down. BoBF also had some cool moments, but its treatment of the title character was beyond disappointing. I hope we get another live-action appearance of him where we see him as the badass we've always known him to be.

I'd love ANY of those....especially Two Tubes!

@thegillman yes, Tubes is one of my favorite alien designs to come out of the Disney era!

And of course I agree about BOBF. It wouldn't have been so bad if his appearance on Mandalorian hasn't been so utterly incredible. It set a bar I was certain they could reach again. I don't think I even got to the Mythosaur part, but definitely still have never seen Gideon's troops or the praetorian guards in motion.

I honestly have no idea what I'm hoping they reveal at Pulsecon other than the Stranger. Some stuff from Tales of the... maybe? Those shows really flew under the radar but maybe we finally get Bariss. Honestly I think all I'm hoping for is more never-before-seens like ol' Hammerhead. I have versions of most of the core casts I'm thrilled with already. Really need some new personalities to liven up the shelf a bit.

I wish to see what I always do.  Some new Jedi or Sith/Dark Siders and anything EU.  I'd say we will see The Stranger.  And we may actually see Savage Oppress, Prince Xizor, and ANH Luke and Leia in figure form.

Beyond that, who knows. I wish we'd get a pipeline reveal of say...Shaak Ti and Darth Plagueis

@docsilence yeah I have to think... Maybe just Leia from Kenobi? Otherwise I don't think I have any other main characters in my wishlist anymore. It's all droids, creatures, and troopers anymore.

Hoping that we’ll see Xixor and by extension also see, or at least confirm that he’s in the pipeline, Dash Rendar.
