Dude, that blows. I'm so sorry that happened. People are the worst sometimes.
I saw on the last page you guys talking about purging some of your Black Series collection. That is definitely something I want to do soon. I have damn near been a completest this entire time. Finally, this year, I started making more strict rules to what I buy, and I've honestly enjoyed myself and collecting this line way more. But I just have all these figures from previous years that I honestly feel I just don't need.
Especially the stuff from the Disney era of movies and shows. There have been some great films and shows, and great characters from the Disney era. But there has been a lot of stuff I just shouldn't have bought.
The Prequel Trilogy, Original Trilogy, and Legends stuff is where my real nostalgia and care lies.
So, at some point, I need to Order 66 a hundred plus figures or more.
@supercamel-1982 I'm still wanting to do the same but I feel like I'd have to practically give away all of the Disney era movie stuff so I just haven't done it yet.
Maybe try as sets? I sold ST Han, Leia and Luke together.
That makes sense. Better a few bucks for the small set than nothing.
Hasbro just has to have Lucasfilm’s blessing to make Smilo Ren. That figure sells better than all of the rest for sure.
Thwipp!
Thanks for the posts, guys - I appreciate the sympathy. It's funny, any number of other figures could've been nicked and I would've been like hey, I can replace him later, maybe on sale, so of course the porch pirate got sold out figure of one of my favorite weird Kenner era aliens. BBTS is usually very reliable so I'm not too worried (of course watch this be the rare time Hasbro shorts them!). Plus I'm out 30 bucks and 96 cans of cat food. (WHY steal the cat food, I keep wondering. It's heavy and worthless!)
The Acolyte getting canceled bummed me out. I hope it really was a numbers game and not Iger-era cowardice. I keep thinking about these eight episode seasons. I just finished watching Vikings: Valhalla, or as I like to think of it, Kirkland Brand Vikings, and really, by the third season the actors were getting stronger, the show was finding its voice, and then it was canceled. Which is right around what one season of old school network TV would get. I feel like streaming has terminated any show's chance to breathe unless it's a gangbusters hit, and even then, you're lucky to get more than 30 episodes because streamers don't want to pay the crew benefits. Not that every 23 episode season, eight season series was a winner, but we gave stories time to find themselves before and we really don't anymore. And I feel like Acolyte did find itself by the end of that first season.
I'm keeping my Yord preorder out of spite, dangit. I hope a few leftover characters are already at factories in China right now so they can't cancel them, even if it's just the Stranger and Torbin (Kelnacca was pipelined, yeah?).

My aunt would say "Maybe they needed it more than I did," always finding the bright side of something. So now I'm picturing the thief surviving on Fancy Feast for the next couple weeks.

It would be nice if you're right but I just don't know. Especially after Rise of Skywalker.

Ugh, you're absolutely right. Some really good shows that probably could have found their audience after another season or two have been snuffed waaaaaay too early. This isn't like Network shows where you have to watch it in real time. The beauty of something on, say, Netflix is maybe you happen upon it months or even a year after it was first released. What if it blows up then? But there's only one season, oh well. And now it's a vicious circle because I have started waiting on a lot of shows to see how many seasons they get. And if it ends, I try to not spoil it but look into how satisfying the ending was. Did they know it was ending? Etc. And since I'm waiting, and maybe others are too, the powers that be see the numbers and think there's no audience for it. but we're just too afraid to get invested and get hurt again.

Heavy agree.

I believe oul Kelly was pipelined, yes.
Porch pirates STOLE MY MOMAW NADON.
I was working at a comic con the house sitter was out for a bit and when she got back the package from Pulse (AND 96 CANS OF CAT FOOD) were ganked off the steps. Sold out at Pulse and Amazon so I just preordered a new one from BBTS and have to hope they deliver.
For some reason I'm in a region UPS and Fedex won't guarantee delivery, either. And of course the security cameras are wifi and weren't fast enough to catch the guy. Gonna have to buy one of those boxes with a code for the delivery guys.
I'm really surprised there aren't good options on the market for package deposit bins for people to buy and place on their property somewhere near their doors. Something like a full USPS mailbox, but with a bigger opening like the UPS and FedEx drop boxes usually have. A decent but less secure option is a package drop box with a removable lid, and you can get those for around $50, but I'd much prefer one that didn't allow anyone to just walk up and open the box, and I haven't been able to find one yet.
However, another parallel solution is being worked on by Amazon that might make a package drop box market never take off. Amazon is partnering with car manufacturers to put code locks onto vehicle trunks so that they can deliver packages straight to your car's trunk. Last I heard they were doing it with BMW, and I really hope it takes off. I've never had anything stolen myself that I know of; package mis-deliveries by carriers are FAR more common than theft anywhere I've ever lived. But still, when I order something of high value I want my item delivered securely, and delivering to your trunk is SUPER secure. It solves two problems at once--your item is mostly safe from theft, plus you know there won't be a mis-delivery because they have to use your code to get into your trunk, so it's a highly reliable double-check that the carrier isn't mis-delivering your package. I used to buy expensive comics, and I ALWAYS went and picked those up at the carrier offices to completely eliminate the idea of them not making it to me. When I bought my PS5 from Walmart they mis-delivered it to my street number on the wrong street, but luckily the homeowner brought it to me the next day. I was particularly livid because I absolutely did not want FedEx delivering that package to my house and I was going to hold it for pickup, but Walmart uses some service option with FedEx that prevents customers from having their package held at a FedEx location. I was pissed when I found that out the day it shipped, and of course I was FAR beyond pissed when they did indeed mis-deliver my PS5. 😡
I want the trunk delivery option TODAY. It solves every problem you guys are discussing with delivering packages.
@docsilence That theft sucks, man. So sorry that happened. That's a lot of cat food, too.
Momaw Nadon is in stock again on Pulse. Cheaper than BBTS, no wait, and free shipping if you have Pulse premium.
@supercamel-1982 BBTS is going to register an account here just to dislike this post
@supercamel-1982 Thanks for the head's up! I ended up ordering one from the restock on Pulse - I buy SO MUCH stuff from BBTS (I preorder all my MOTU stuff there, most of my TMNT stuff, and imports) this one time I didn't feel too bad canceling a preorder. I mean I canceled like 18 hours after placing the order, didn't leave it to the last minute. (They'll get lots of business from me the rest of the year.) Plus... someone stole my g--d--- Hammerhead and my cat's dinner. I needed the dopamine boost of ordering a replacement ASAP.
@TFitz - SO much cat food. I just hope it didn't end up in a gutter somewhere and it fed a cat or three in need. I'm lucky enough that I'm not financially devastated by a month's worth of cat food getting ganked, just frustrated.
@enigmaticclarity - I actually have started looking into drop boxes you can have on your steps or porch. It's not perfect, but if someone can't SEE the package from the street maybe it'll cut down on the theft. I've had a lot of stuff stolen lately but we installed cameras and that cut down on it for a couple of months, thought the thieves had moved on.
@RU1977 - ever since I learned that Netflix cans shows before the fourth season because benefits for the crew increases, I don't count on anything making it any longer than that. The more I learn about these things the more I am convinced in every part of the business all the wrong people are in charge. Nobody running a studio cares about story anymore. It's always been about the money, but there was at least a sense of pride about the craft in decades past. We may never get that back again.
@docsilence ah, that's good to know. Three seasons can be enough sometimes but not many seem to get even that far.
