At 1:00 PM I came, I saw, I pre'd that Maul.
And now.......we wait. Of course, Hasbro has it scheduled for a November release. Which means it will probably ship in the next 48 hours along with 27 other Hasbro figures and sets.
I should add that while I now have all my major wants, I'll still grab new troopers, droids, etc. I now have 3 super battle droids (1 dirty, bought loose), and the repainted 3 pack on pre-order.
Also, if they redid the main cast "Legends style" since Marvel did and does make comics of them, I'd buy them with the quickness.
I know in my heart the Andor figures will be discounted, but I'll be darned if I'm not preordering them because I want them to make all the Andor figures.
The Maul speeder is still available on Pulse. I think I'm going to cave and get it. I didn't NEED it, but I'm having one of those "I NEED A DOPAMINE BOOST" weeks. I just want to buy something fun, and I do like the soft goods robes even if they're not done great. It's just a thing.
Momaw “Hammerhead” Nadon has shipped and I am giddy with excitement. Feels like forever since we’ve gotten an original cantina denizen, and he’s one of the coolest. This guy will definitely be traveling around with me in my work bag for a while when he gets here. I hope they do a “retro” release in blue togs.
Momaw arrived and I couldn't be happier with him. Well, if he'd been $24.99, maybe. He was always my favorite "background" Star Wars figure when I was a kid, so owning this version just makes me super-happy.
I still think I'll just refer to him as Hammerhead, though.
Yeah I can't wait for my "Hammerhead" to get here. He was always one of my favorites as a kid. I do honestly hope though that they'll give us a version in just the blue onesie on a retro card to push all those nostalgia buttons. I'd grab that guy and immediately team him up with retro card Greedo and Krrsantan to be the baddest crew in the galaxy.
In an effort to shore up my (what I consider) overwhelming amount of modern 6" figures, I recently blew up my Star Wars Black Series collection, selling off all except what I feel are the most essential OT characters*. (Not knocking anything beyond the OT, it's just where my heart is). I displayed and took pics of what's left. I look at it now and I'm pretty content. Every figure that is there is there for a reason.
For the main characters I went with Empire Strikes Back versions. It's my favorite SW movie and, for the most part, the best likeness for the core cast.
(The only doubles of the main cast I kept are Luke and Leia in their Endor gear because I just can't pry them off of that speeder bike. It just looks so on-point and it's one of my favorite scenes).
Darth Vader, the Droids, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Chewbacca were easy as they all only had one look throughout the movies.
The rest of the figures I kept are there to represent iconic settings or factions from the movies: Tatooine (Jawa, Sand Person), Cantina (Greedo), Rebel Alliance (Admiral Ackbar), Ewoks (Teebow), Jabba's henchmen (Gamorrean Guard), Bounty Hunters (Boba Fett), the Empire (Stormtrooper, Grand Moff Tarkin).
I made exceptions for Darh Maul and Count Dooku. Maul, besides being a great design, is a very rare "ultimate" release. Hasbro just doesn't do figures like this, and he was figure number one of the line. And I just love the idea of Christoper Lee as a Sith. Together with the Emperor and Vader, this is a sick display.
I made a final exception for Mandalorian, Kara Dune, and baby Yoda to represent Mando season 1 which is my favorite Disney effort by far.
I made a lot of tough cuts, but it's the right call. The less you have the more you appreciate it. Now I need to do this same thing with 6" Marvel, DC, and GI Joe.
Kudos to any and all who go through the "collection purge". I Order 66'd my Black Series collection a couple months ago- mostly selling extra army builders or characters/looks I'd grown out of or bought on a whim. It was tough at first, but once I saw how much extra space I had, it really made me excited again. I still probably buy too many, but I'm more mindful now, and more patient to wait for sales if I can. I'd love to have a bit more space where I can do what a lot of ya'll are doing and give each movie/show its own little dedicated space. I sorta do that now, but have to cram all the figures together on those expand-a-shelf things. It looks good enough- kinda like that old saga poster that had all the characters from 1-6 on it, but I know I'm missing a lot of the fun details because most of their lower halves are hidden behind the figures in front of them. One day! For now, I'll look at all your guys' shelves like Luke looks at the twin suns.
Added Yord to the Acolyte shelf the other day, and he's great. Really love adding another yellow saber to the mix. He's got a great likeness, even if he looks a bit disinterested (then again, Yord always was a bit of a try-hard stickler). Only missing Jecki now and the Acolyte shelf will be complete (for now). Just in time for the flood of new product that seems to be coming our way soon according to YakFace.

Awesome. Congratulations! And I find that to be true as well. It's cool to have a ton of stuff, but it becomes a sea of ... just mess I guess. My Marvel shelves are extremely healthy, with most of the characters having only one version, and I am far from having every character. Just my favorites. I feel it's healthier to go that way too, in the long run.
What was the most successful way to get a lot of your figures sold? eBay? Facebook? Somewhere else? Starting to think about doing a purge for my collection.

There's no BEST place to sell anything.
ebay=fees out the wazoo
facebook=flakes and scammers
reseller=you get half the value
For Star Wars my first step was ebay. All of my prequel figures and my bounty hunters sold there. My rebel and imperial figures didn't move as well on ebay. Those went into a box along with other comic figures that I couldn't move through ebay. I took all of those to a local comic shop. You will not get as much taking it to a comic shop or other resellers, but I look at that as a tax I pay for enjoying it for however long I had it. It's fine with me. If I know it's an item that is sought after, it will move easily and I'll get a lot for it, I'll go to ebay....maybe facebook. If it's a $10-$20 figure, common c-list figures that no one really cares about, I'll generally put it in a box to go to my comic shop. I got $400 for my figure lot at the comic shop this week.......I told myself I was going to buy a Hot Toy with it, but I ended up putting it in my girls' account.
Helpful tip: if you do bring it to a reseller, it helps if you put the figures in ziplock baggies with all of their correct accessories. That saves them the time paying an employee to do it and, at least at the place I bring my stuff to, I was told that they pay a little extra for doing that.

That’s definitely a healthy mindset to have about it. Thanks for the tips!
Momaw came from Hasbro Pulse today and he is indeed great. Always loved this guy.
Best Star Wars Black figures I've picked up in a long time.
The only thing that could make him better is if he came with that big, crazy Power of the Force rifle. (He probably should have for the price...)
Edit: Thinking about it, that gun might actually work with a Black series figure. Gotta try and dig it out. Hammerhead was one of the few 3 3/4 figures I kept after a purge 5 or 6 years ago.
@grumpymatt I've seriously wanted a Hammerhead in this line ever since it debuted to do just that. Mine got delivered today & I dug out my old Star Wars stuff just for that purpose. https://imgur.com/a/msw2XT4
