I got Indara in, so now I have all of the current Acolyte Jedi. I'm really happy to have them. Even if you don't like the show, these are just fun Jedi figures to have. Use them as Jedi during the Clone Wars, or as Survivors of Order 66. Use them as new Jedi students in Luke's Jedi Academy. They are your figures, and you can do what you want.
I liked the show a lot more than most it seems, but really trying to set rules for myself with collecting. Only getting up to four from any show or movie (aside from Boba, Sith, or Stormtrooper variants), but also realizing I can like something and not have figures from it. I sold all my Eternals and Guardians of the Galaxy, despite loving those movies. Trying to have the collection have more of a focus than just "I enjoy this". Which probably sounds really dumb.
But of the Jedi, Yord and Jecki were the two that struck me as the most interesting, personality-wise. Yes, if I worked with Yord I'd probably loathe him, but I loved watching him interact with the others. Also the yellow saber will give some nice variety. I also have no green sabers on the shelf except for Luke, but he's a couple shelves down from the PT Jedi and Jecki would be just to the left of them. So I think I'm still keeping those pre-orders. Kelnacca will be it from the show aside from the Mae I have, the Stranger I'm guessing they'll eventually make, and final episode Osha I'm hoping for. I count them all as Sithish.
I got the Cal Kestus in the mail for Jedi Survivor. Pretty good figure all around. But he's smaller then the old ones. Looks like he lost some weight. His lightsaber is smaller as well. I wonder if they were just kinda trying to correct the scale a little. But having them next to each other you can really see the differences.
I also got 2 Super Battle Droids but I have yet to open them. In box they look really cool. But I was debating on rearranging things now that I have a ton of clones and droids to put up, so I have nowhere for them currently. I may still open them, but I don't wanna just put them in the group of random crap I got recently lol.
Super Battle Droid came out great! Nice proportions and articulation. Fun blast effect. It’s one of the best droids in the line. Happy that I ordered more than one!

Can you take a pic? Curious!
Darth Maul and his speeder is up for open order in a few minutes. It was up a bit under an hour ago for Premium members.
When does the battle droid on a speeder go up for sale?
Now it says coming soon, before it said sold out. While I'm hoping I can get one, it looks like a new Darth Maul mold under all the soft goods, so I have a feeling the only exclusive bits are the speeder and probe droid. If I had to guess the Maul will be rereleased later. So if I can't get this, I'll just get the single release.
Yeah, I'll wait for the new Darth Maul single release. I just can't see $60 in the set. Although, the way the Black Series has cut articulation, I may stick with the OG.
Darth Maul and his speeder as well as other Hasbro SDCC items should go up for pre order tomorrow at 11:00 AM EST. Today's items I beleive were in stock and ready to ship items left over from SDCC. But tomorrow, pre orders for the same items.
I don't know if I'll get this or not. I'm already getting this new Maul and cloak in the GameStop 3 Pack, and I think they are even letting this Maul out as a single packaged figure in a Wave.
So, do I need it again for $60 just for the Speeder? I don't know.
I think that Maul in the 3 pack is a repack of the first one with the old articulation, just a new cloak. But I'm not 100% sure on that.
I opened the Super BDs. Very nice figures overall. Really cool. Only gripe I have is with the blast effect. It doesn't wanna go on properly, on either figure, and it bent the gun barrels trying. Now they have some stress marks from being bent too far. They both had issues, so I don't think its just mine, but maybe I didn't put them on right? I unno. One of them also had his leg barbell crooked. Luckily it was easy to just pull out and move back into the proper place. Now it doesn't move at all, even without glue, and it's not crooked anymore. The little head comes off, to show the light and insides underneath. I thought that was nifty. I do think though, the pegs are kinda small. I understand why. But I have a feel they may break, with maybe just time and the plastic degrading, or too much force. I'd be careful with all the joints.
Also someone asked for the Cal comparison pic. Here's him and the lightsaber, both thinner then the old one, especially the head. That's the biggest size difference.

I have five and none had this problem. Did you notice there's a right and wrong vertical way to put the effects on? It's taller on the top side side of where it pegs in and shorter on the bottom so that the blast doesn't press up against the back of his hand. I could see that if you put them on upside-down it would stress the blasters by pushing them up, but otherwise I didn't notice any stress when put on correctly.
I wouldn't have noticed this myself, but I watched the Out of the Basement review of the figure a month or two ago and they showed the difference in height of the blast and what the right way to put it on was so I knew the difference before I even opened it. The fact that there's an up and down side is a bit of a design issue because it's not particularly obvious that this is the case.
I bet that's what I did wrong then. Ty for pointing it out to me. I checked the effects and put them on the right way and they seem much better.
And I must correct an earlier statement. It does indeed look like the 3 pack Maul is the new one. But as I don't need another Obi Wan or Qui Gon that clearly are the same figures as before, that set isn't worth it to me.
Got in Sidious and Sol (sounds like a law firm, lol) today, and they're both really nice. I quite like the mix of soft goods and plastic on Sidious; that's a good middle ground to do things I think, even if the robe is still a smidge too drapey for my taste. The hood being plastic means it retains that iconic look, so I'm cool with it. Even his arms are the right amount of puffy, I think. His lightsaber fits a bit loosely in his hand, but I haven't had any trouble getting it to stay in. Don't think I'll display him with the lightning hands, but this just goes to show you again that Hasbro can really include as much as they want with a regular figure before making it "deluxe".
Sol is really nice too. Even if the robes on these Acolyte figures are, again, a smidge too big and loose, I like the way they're done. Especially for a character like Sol who, if I remember correctly never (or very rarely) takes his robe off (aside from his white temple garb, which is more a cape, but still robe-y). I quite like the high republic tunic overlay underneath- the ever-so-slight but of fabric sculpting helps it feel less plastic-y, and the shade of yellow didn't turn out nearly as bright of plastic-y as I was expecting either.
Yord got bumped up to next week some time, assuming it still sticks. No updates on Jecki, though.
Mauls up. Got my order in. Seems like it's actually in stock and not a preorder but that may change later. It was a little more expensive then I realized too since they charged for shipping, which they used to not do for most of these. But that's fine. I'll just eat it.
they always charged for shipping. this is the first year if you had pulse membership, you got free shipping.
