You WILL be able to get almost all of them for at least 30% off if you give it a bit. I wonder if her dress is cloth or plastic - maybe SHE'LL finally be the right body for me to upgrade my ST Leia!
@tenime yes, won't someone think of the bank accounts! No joke.
Looks like the cloak is soft goods. Maybe the skirt too. But it's harder to tell on that one. Maybe a 3rd party would make the whip versions of her saber later on.
That seems to be the popular joke, yeah.
I'll admit I'm definitely skipping her. A whip would have tempted me.
I always go into each Star Wars series with high hopes, but damn, the Acolyte sucked. They made the Jedi basically worse than the Sith IMO. At least the Sith are open about their desires. This made the Jedi piss-poor fighters who lie to all non-Jedi hide their flaws and then blame a single Jedi for multiple murders he didn't commit, etc. Fucking terrible series.
Man, that STAP and Battle droid brings back massive nostalgic memories. It looks excellent. I want a couple of those, and I would like to try and get the Darth Maul exclusive with Sith speeder. I love Episode I stuff.
Vernestra should have had a whip effect. I can't believe they didn't give her one. But I will still buy her to use as a Jedi in the time period of my choosing.
Now let's see if they show Kelnacca, the Stranger, and Basil.
I saw speculation they may have her whip with a figure in field robes. Even as someone who enjoyed the show, I'll be surprised if she gets two figures. I could see the Stranger getting two, if anyone, or Osha. But Vern? Maybe for a second season but I dunno.
I wonder if the lightsaber vs. whip thing is one of those situations where they were working of concept art. Doesn't happen as often with Black Series but thinking about how we got a Grown Ezra that didn't really appear in Ahsoka too.
The Hasbro Star Wars panel is today from 2PM to 3PM EST, right?
I'm still salty about the Yoda/Gree 2-pack with the Yoda chair selling out so fast. Any hopes of that popping up during SDCC, or was that not attached to SDCC at all?
I'm all for a Vernestra, but I'm surprised they showed her off before Darth Smiley. He was the runaway hit of the show, so I'd think they'd want to let people know he was coming sooner rather than later. Probably during the panel, though. Bummer Vern doesn't come with the whip, but like others have said, maybe for season 2. I'd also be curious to see how they'd handle it- if it would be a soft plastic like Indy's whip, or a solid, pre-posed piece. Not sure which I'd prefer, honestly- maybe the latter. It's not like you can have her holding it like you could with the whip. Also not sure how a (presumably) thicker plastic would work when it comes to pliability? Unless they do a bendy one where you can pose it yourself?
Was the vern figure a leak? She is going up tomorrow, but I'm guessing Stranger and others show today will be also.
I'm sure there will be a 3rd party one at some point after the figure comes out. But it'd probably have to be more solid then pliable. The ghost rider chain is a good example. It looks nice, but it doesn't hold poses well. It slumps down cause of the weight. So you have to have it propped up by something. And the thickness of the saber blade would also make it alot harder to do pliable plastic, not to mention it'll weigh more. So it wouldn't hold poses well anyway.
Fucking Bazil figure...ugh.
Andor figures look good. Maybe will buy him at least. Ahsoka figure you can keep.
I think we knew Bazil was a given. He didn't really leave a mark on me, but I may pick the figure up on discount. Dedra looks really good, and it's cool to see Cassian's season 2 costume. Ahsoka the White looks really nice, but of course there's no cloak. Dare I hold out for the inevitable Walmart exclusive down the road with the cloak? Oh, Hasbro Star Wars team. Ya done did it again.
Xizor is the first announced Black Series figure to make me genuinely excited since 2015. Can't have him without Dash, though.
Still waiting on Kyle and Jan.
