I got mine down to TFA Kylo, TLJ Rey, and BB-8. I honestly didn't feel like any other designs were shelf-worthy, except maaaaaybe the Praetorian Guards, but once I sold all the others off, and saw what those guys were going for... I couldn't stop the momentum.

The Acolyte is probably the worst Star Wars series. The short runtimes are doing it no favors. I like all the Jedi characters and Qimir. Mae and Osha just don't have enough going on. The structure of the show has been odd, and I don't have much faith that the last episode is going to be a satisfying conclusion to this clunky ride.

I'm leaning towards cancelling Osha and Mae. Episode 5 was the highlight of the show so I want to keep the Jedi. Need Kelnacca too. He sort of got his moment to shine.

That's funny, I'm the opposite. Qimir and the twins are my only definites, then Yord and Jecki maybe. Kelnacca probably. Everyone else is a big nah.

I've been mowing it over for some time. I even posed the question in the Vintage thread a little while back. I'm running out of room. Have been for a while. Don't really wanna take anything down. Power Rangers ended and I started doing GI Joe and Action Force to fill that void a little, even though they are different genres. But sometimes I look at my shelves like, "Do I really need any of these? I'm running out of room. I could use the money for other things. Is this really worth it? Most of them just end up in bins. And the rest collect dust. Whats gonna happen to them when I die? Maybe I should sell some stuff." But then I see cool characters or designs I really like and I buy the shit anyway. I even posed the question to my therapist who said, "Well if it makes you happy, why should you stop? It's not hurting anyone and you enjoy it." Sometimes though I enjoy making the customs more then I do buying the figures.

With GI Joe and Action Force I am limiting what I buy alot though. I'm mainly getting females or just cool designs, because of the way the figures look. I only have ninjas and girls. But I still end up looking at what I have and kinda ask "Do I really need it? Does it make me happy?" Honestly I call it being addicted to plastic cause I'm not sure how else to describe it.

Yeah, for me it's similar. I love the line, and probably won't stop altogether, but I'm past the point of needing every variant, multiples of every army builder, etc. I used to get every Clone and every Mando variant, but at least with the latter, there just isn't enough variance. It's almost all the exact same mold with some variant of blue. It all looks very same-y on the shelf, and makes that buyer's remorse hit all the harder- even if I don't have that exact figure already, it can feel like I do, because there's such little differentiation. Not that all the Clones are suuuuper different themselves, but the color variance, slightly different helmets, and extra bits and bobs here and there help break up the sameness a bit.

I think it's that problem across the board, too, though to a lesser extent. I get that making figures is expensive and Hasbro is trying to minimize spending and maximize profit, but there's just so much re-use and re-release. At least when it came to re-releasing figures or parts or whatever in the old lines I grew up with, there would be some variation- either a new pose, or a new base, or whatever. Here, it's mostly barebones releases with the same (sometimes less) basic accessories, at the same or higher price points, with varying levels of ease to obtain. That's why something like the Acolyte figures feel a little exciting to me- even though 4 of the 6 share the same basic look, it's at least something new(ish) style and color-wise. They're characters we haven't gotten before, and may never get again, so there's a newness to them.

Like others, I'll echo the sentiment that it's pretty nice not having the weight of feeling like you need to stay caught up or find the funds. It's nice seeing a little empty space on my shelf. While I'm still probably getting more than I should, there's not as much pressure to get every single release right away.

Yeah, with clones I got rid of everyone except the plain phase one, plain phase two, and Rex. And I did that RIGHT before one of my best friends found the 212th Airborne figure on Aliexpress. The figure I was clamoring for the most from hasbro, mostly because they had all the parts already to do it.

Ah well, Hasbro. Ah well.

That halloween set is up on Amazon. Interesting they didn't do Dracula with a Dooku repaint...

I got 1 of the 2 Clone/BD sets today. It's pretty cool, even for being basic. I like the battle droid but it has its shortcomings. Like the lack of thigh swivels or outward leg motion. But those are design choices by Lucas more then Hasbro. And he doesn't like to stand. He needs a stand to stand lol. And I think the gun doesn't fit on the backpack properly but I may be wrong about that. But he does have some cool features where he compacts and his neck pull outs and his antenna go down.

The Clone Trooper is the same as the rest. Nothing special. But does what it does.

I began my quest to buy less today.  I cancelled a few things for Black Series and Marvel Legends.  But for Black Series I will always get anything PT and OT.  And I will always get any saber user/Force Wielder, no matter when they are from on the timeline or if they are Legends or Canon.

But I just don't feel I need to continue with a lot of this new stuff from Disney.  Just certain things.

Honestly, it felt relieving to cut back and just come to terms with picking and choosing and not being so complete.  Which I have been able to do with some other toy lines.  But I seemed to have some anxiety or FOMO with the Star Wars line. I was having trouble letting go.  But I have begun.

I love Star Wars, but it's always going to be the OT and PT that mean the most to me.

So, my main focus will always be there.  But I'm happy to cut back.  I know Skeleton Crew figures will be coming soon, and I'll be glad not to have to buy some or all of them, where originally, I had planned to have to buy all of them.

I hope Skeleton Crew is good, and I've heard good things.  But just seeing the characters and hearing certain details I don't feel I am probably going to need any of them, unless like Jude Law turns out to be a Jedi or something.

@supercamel-1982 seems like we're digging the same trench here. I also cancelled some legends and BS today, and I think I will cancel the Acolyte figures. I want the dark side peeps at least, but despite enjoying the show more than apparently most, yeah I don't need all the plastic people.

I always like the figures, but I learned a long time ago to not get every cool star wars figure I see. I own maybe 20 figures at my current place (last 4 years of purchases), and they are almost all characters I absolutely knew I was going to buy if announced. I have them arranged roughly by when they appear in the saga , but no dedicated section for each movie (pics later if I can get the feature to work).

Mace Windu, some Clone Trooper with blue highlights, Clone Wars Obi Wan, Clone War Anakin, Clone Wars Echo, Hunter, 5th Brother, Obi wan from his show, Cassian Andor, Death Star Officer, Boba Fett, RotJ Leia, Jedi Luke from the Mando s2, Axes Woves, Dark Trooper, Glavis Mando, Grogu in his bassinet, maybe one or two others. I have about 20 more at my other house, but I dont want to get too many more. Up until a day ago when I found Glavis Mando, I had not bought anything since last September

Those are the only ones that Ive felt compelled to buy and keep. I’ve bought others but then had buyers remorse and returned them. Pre Visla, Darth Vader, etc. I bought the first two series of Black Series when they first came out, but over time learned to accept that I dont need the whole saga. Might get some stuff I’ve waited years for (Super Battle Droid and the Destroyer), but I’m mostly good until they make Kyle Katarn.

Not currently as far as I'm aware. But they did Mara Jade so it's highly possible. Course, they also did Jaina years and years ago and never did Jacen or Anakin so...

Amazon shifted the Acolyte figures up to two weeks sooner. I have still yet to cancel the Jedi, but gonna wait to really decide until Tuesday.
