I've had that happen at least once before, Super Camel. I can't remember how long it took to restore things, but a couple days later (or so), everything got restored to my account. So maybe not anything to worry about, but definitely something to keep an eye on.
I'll echo the sentiments on the Halloween 2-pack. A cute idea that they implemented well. I like that they thought outside the box for that one. Personally, I would never have thought of Inquisitor Dracula and Frankenstein Cad Bane, but they both fit quite well. I hope the new paint apps and accessories (mostly the Mynock) aren't gonna drive the price up too much. I still kick myself for missing out on the previous Halloween figures. They can, and should, re-release at least the Skeleton Trooper. That's a really safe bet to fly off the shelves.
Saw that the Acolyte wave is finally starting to hit stores in California. Hopefully that means the rest of us won't have to wait too long. Entertainment Earth got at least a couple of the figures in, I saw. I doubt I'll have them all by the time of the finale next week, but one or two might be nice!
Honestly with how bad it's getting reviewed from the fanbase, I'm gonna guess the figures will probably go on discount. I know that shouldn't be a sign of the line, and I shouldn't always trust what the fan base says about things, SW fans are some toxic sobs. But if it's any indication, I will wait on the figures or miss out. Except maybe Darth Smiley and the Wookie if they make them. Those would be badass. And I did preorder Jecki from Amazon cause she was only $20 and I like Daphne Keen. Plus the figure looks cool.
Also, I got 2 Clone/BD 2 packs on gamestops buy get one 40% off sale. I was gonna get 2 destroyers as well but they would only let me add 1 to the cart. So I'll wait on those. And they let me use my $5 monthly reward which they don't usually do on sales so that was cool. At that price they were around $17 a piece or so (not exact math). I'm actually debating on maybe trying to paint them with sky corps detailing since I never got any of Cody's unit and I prefer colored ones to the plain white, and I already have a plain white anyway. But I'm not sure yet since detailing those may actually be hard with all the little nuances there are to the paint schemes. I'll have to decide later. But they did already ship them so they should be here I would guess early next week.
Last night's episode of Acolyte made me appreciate Torbin; he held his own for sure. I'd certainly take a figure of him if offered; I'm sure there's some parts they can reuse from the existing Acolyte figures if need be, since all the Jedi mostly wear the same thing. I'd hate for him to be the only Jedi from that group (and one of the characters of general importance) that we don't end up getting. One of the things I quite like about the show is that the core cast is relatively small; there aren't even really a whole lot of cool background aliens (but still just enough to feel like Star Wars)- the vast majority of time and attention goes to the characters of importance. Which makes everyone's figure feel kind of necessary, at least to me. Assuming the rumored second wave of figures ends up panning out, we'd really only be missing 2-3 important characters (who could, in theory, be released in a 2 or 3 pack down the road if need be).
I don't know how I feel about the Acolyte figures, at least from a "selling" standpoint. I know I'm gonna get them, and now that the tide seems to be turning a bit on the show (or at least the vocal hate is dwindling a bit), people seem to be digging it. Seen a couple posts of people finding the figures in stores and being excited about it. People seem to really be liking Sol, and Jecki and Yord were well received too. At most, I see people waiting for a sale, but I don't know about them sticking around long enough to go on full clearance. I'm sure it'll happen somewhere, and it'll unfortunately be used to further the "See? This show sucks" campaign, even though clearance in big box stores is wildly inconsistent and could be anything from overstock, to a damaged box, to a shoddy return, etc. The only figures I really see hanging around anymore are the ones that Hasbro supposedly want to be in constant stock anyway- Vader and Mando. Even the ones like Hera or the Pyke Soldier may hang around for a bit, but they always sell through, even before they go on clearance.
Anywho, I got my Destroyer Droids the other day, and man are they fun! They feel really well made too, almost to the point of not even feeling like a Black Series figure. Haven't managed to get them into rolly mode yet (but honestly haven't really tried that much). I also got my 2nd ever Clone from Veils Toys on AliExpress. Normally I'm not for bootlegs, but I was really impressed by the one I ordered a year or so ago. I saw they made a Commander Neyo and since I'm sure Hasbro will take their sweet time getting around to him, I ordered. He arrived today, and he's a really nice one. Knowing my luck, Hasbro will announce an official one any day now, but I'm still glad to have him on the shelf! Really only missing Bacara now and I'll be happy with my named prequel Clones.
I doubt I would wait for clearance. But for a sale I would start nabbing them. They are jedi after all. I'll buy just about anything with a lightsaber. Shit I'd buy Jar Jar if he came with one (Darth Jar Jar maybe?).
I honestly think the Jedi from the Acolyte will sell. Even those who don't like the show can still just use them as random Jedi from the Prequels or something.
I think Osha and Mae will peg warm pretty hard.
This may seem odd or crazy, but do any of you ever find yourself asking "when does it end?" when it comes to this line, or any toy line?
I LOVE Star Wars. And have for a very long time. But I see that I have hundreds of Black Series figures, and then realize that they will probably be making these the rest of my life. And I just keep thinking "how many of these bitches do I need?"
And this isn't even the only line I collect. But I do find myself asking that with this line and Marvel Legends, because 1.) they let out so much product, and 2.) I see no end in sight for either line. But when does it end? Should I cut down on what I buy? Do I really need every character?
I feel like I need to pick and choose more. I'd always get any lightsaber user be it Jedi, Sith, Inquisitor, Darkside User, etc. Because that's the most fun part of Star Wars too me.
But beyond that, how much more do I need?
I always thought I'd get every Mandalorian. but I have the MAIN Mando's. Jango and Boba, Din, Pre and Paz Viszla, Bo Katan, etc. Now I find myself asking, do I really need all of these random no name Mando's?
I always thought I'd buy anything and everything from the Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy. But even there, do I really need everybody?
I don't know. Lately I just feel like I want less stuff, and if I'm going to get something it needs to be the most important stuff and that's it.
Anyone else going through this now, or have gone through this in the past?
I ask that a few times a week. Part of me misses the early POTF2 days. Just three movies, occasional EU figures... Real easy. But yeah, I recently gave myself harder restrictions because they aren't gonna stop, and they come out with some cool designs I'll want on the shelf. Just gotta set those rules and be realistic with yourself. But I also wonder if I can stop and call the collection done. And will I keep displaying, or does that depend on it being a living, I going hobby? I don't buy Neca stuff anymore but still have it all on display, but I suspect star wars is different.
This line ended for me a year or so ago, they haven’t released anything i’ve felt like I needed to pick up.
The "Last Command" set finally went up on ShopDisney . . . but it's ten dollars more expensive than the HasbroPulse one. Is that a mistake that will eventually be corrected, or is it intentionally ten bucks more?
@ru1977 I definitely miss the POTF 2 days. So easy, so simple, yet so fun. I guess that's what I gotta do though. Just set some rules and restrictions and stick with it. But I feel like I'm having trouble since it's Star Wars.
I recently quit GI Joe Classifieds. And even that was a little hard, but I did it and I'm fine now. I had enough to have an excellent showing to display of all the main characters, and then I have the vintage toys.
But even though I'm not quitting Star Wars, I feel like I'm having a hard time cancelling some things that I honestly should.
@supercamel-1982 I have mostly phased out collecting Star Wars and Transformers. I'm only getting the last Dinobot for Transformers and am sticking with OT/PT for Star Wars. I will be the first to admit I have a real problem with wanting to buy every figure from shows I watch and with Star Wars they are so heavily focused on characters from their new shows.
My solution for that is I no longer watch Star Wars shows. Problem solved! If I don't know who the characters are then I don't want the figures because the designs of the newer Star Wars characters (to me) aren't cool enough to overcome the fact that I don't know who they are. Also Hasbro isn't a good enough innovator in the toy-making world to make me want to buy the figures just seeing them and not knowing who they are, unlike say the 4 Horsemen with their Cosmic Legions line I just jumped into.
Without checking my notes I think the only Star Wars I've bought this year are Episode I Anakin and Padme.
I have a hard time with that too. The seeing characters in a show and wanting them. it's like I'm a kid, I see them, then think of all the play possibilities of having those characters (even though I'm 40 and don't play with them lol).
It's weird. But I feel like I can start letting go a bit. I have recently cancelled a couple things. Not much, but at least it's something.
I cancelled Mae and Osha, as I feel no connection to them at all, and I really haven't enjoyed the Acolyte that much. Some cool stuff, but lots of bad writing. Just weird choices that don't make sense. Last night's episode was chalk full of them.
I also cancelled the R5 D4 Target set with Pit Droids and BD Unit. I have R5 a couple of times at this point. So, do I really need to pay $50 for another R5 and a couple tiny droids only on screen for seconds? I feel like no.
I'm trying.
I wish I could get it down to only OT and PT characters, certain EU characters then any and all lightsaber users from any era.
Yeah, whatever rules make sense for you. I have my OT wishlist, and that's that, but otherwise I'm allowing myself up to four characters from any new show or project. My exceptions are Stormtrooper variants, Sith, and Boba Fett. So I have only four figures from The Mandalorian, other than the Tython and Throne Room Boba's. It's actually really satisfying to do it that way.
I've even considered pulling some figures from display to make room for other stuff. I can't honestly say I've even glanced at my sequel trilogy shelves in months. Just kind of feel like maybe I need to boil it down a bit.
