On the trooper pack reveal: I'm really surprised and also not surprised that Hasbro didn't swap the head on the Rebel Trooper. How much would including a new head really have cost them? I've already got two of *this* guy. I just wanted one more but not triplets. They could at least have painted him blonde or something.
I've actually got a bunch from the original release and swapped various heads from other lines in to make unique troopers. Yes, would be nice if they released more options officially, but at the very least you can do your own customisations.
The bigger annoyance is the Endor Rebel Commando - there's two options only and unless you really get crafty, you can't expand with kitbashes as easily. Can headswap but then sacrifice having no helment. At least the Hoth Trooper had several configurations, and the Endor Rebel faceplans can swap into them with a bit of a squeeze!
I probably wouldn't even pose Maul on the speeder anyway, so it doesn't bother me that he may not be able to fully sit on it properly. Like with Enfys Nest, I have her in front of her speeder rather than on it. We don't have much in the way of Black Series vehicles, so having a couple on the shelf just to show off is fine by me! Maul's hooded design is iconic enough that it feels necessary, but I agree on the sabers- my old Maul never looked right due to a bad case of Taffy Hilt. As someone not going to SDCC and who doesn't have Pulse anymore, something tells me this set may be difficult to get. I suppose that's okay. I'm still trying to cut back a bit on figures, even if they're making it difficult.
As for the Acolyte figures,
As for the Smiley helmet, I'm holding off for now. Like many others, I wanna wait to see how it looks in person. Part of me is hoping that the pics are a 3D render, and they may have time to tweak the color a bit before the actual release. Even if they don't, I wanna wait and see how good/cheap it looks in person. Most of the other "metal" helmets have looked a little cheap, and I don't know how well that copper color is gonna look in plastic. But man, I love that helmet design. I can easily see myself getting it regardless, especially if it ever goes on sale. I hope a Smiley figure isn't too far behind. Then again, live action Thrawn isn't even coming out until early-ish next year, and his show was last year. I'm hoping that Hasbro got a sneak peek at Smiley before the trailers so they could have started work on him a bit early. Maybe that's also the reason for the seemingly off helmet color- maybe they're using old concept art? (Though I do still think that the color is correct, it was just the lighting of the scene. I tried to go back to that first episode when you see him in the sun, but he's too out of focus to really see). On one hand, I want him sooner rather than later, but I also don't want Hasbro to rush to get him out and risk another Baylan and Shin situation.
I was thinking I may still get Yord and Jecki. Yeah they're gone, but come on. They were both interesting characters already (at least to me, I know some feel every single aspect of this show is the worst thing they've ever watched), and both went out like champs. In fact, knowing how they went out kinda reinforces me wanting them. Obviously I don't know their entire life stories, but at least I know they went out still likable, if that makes sense.
As far as hasbro making Torbin: looking at the figures from Solo where I have Han, Chewie, Lando, and Enfys from the later era in the movie, and Qira from the earlier era... I foresee them doing a young Torbin that you'll have to display with the older Sol, and they'll never make those figures from the other eras ensuring they're always mismatched.
Ugh... Kessel Q'ira is still a huge hole. The young version isn't a bad figure, but that mismatch is SO annoying. I sold off all my Solo Black Series but I would have kept pants Q'ira.
I also wish they'd TBS'd the Young Han white coat look - I liked that way better than his "final" look.
@schizm yeah it annoys me so much that I keep considering selling her but I would probably make enough to cover postage.
But yeah, Kessel Qira would be the preferable one. Emilia Clarke looks wrong when not regal.
A family member of mine works at Lucasfilm, and according to him and info he has heard the next batch of Acolyte figures will consist of Vernestra Rwoh, Kelnacca, Bazil (the little mole tracker), and The Stranger.
Not surprising really. All characters I would have assumed to get a figure. Maybe Bazil is kind of surprising, but the rest always seemed likely. We'll see if this holds true.
First off, thank you for sharing that. Yeah, it's a list we all could have come up with but I'm still excited for them. Bazil IS a surprise though, but will they be $25?
But.... I.... Really wanna know more about this LFL family member, and are they looking for writers?! Heh heh.
@ru1977 LOL. I don't know if they are looking for writers or not. They SHOULD be. This family member isn't too high up in the food chain at Lucasfilm, but he isn't down low either. He's worked there since Mando season 2.
So, he's worked on every Star Wars project since, as well as Willow and the Indiana Jones film.
I want the Stranger and Kelnacca. I’m still debating the rest. Sol and Osha more than the others. No interest in Mae or her first kill.
Thwipp!
@supercamel-1982 Ah ha, well I don't mind admitting I am riddled with envy. If he ever needs someone with fresh ideas for Boba Fett, let him know you have a guy...
I bet Bazil will be full price since they charge 25 for Omega and Wicket, but (I hate to say it) a two pack of Bazil and Kelnacca priced to offset their relative sizes would be nice. Though I'm sure this falls under the "new sculpting" tax.
(I'm complaining a bit but all whinging aside, I'd love have both of them however they're released.)
Since we're talking Lucasfilm connections - Harrison Ford walked by me while I was getting coffee this weekend. I just politely watched him go and marveled at how slight he is - not a slight, he just IS these days. And I just redid my shelf with TFA Han the night before!
Now I can't ever get rid of that figure. 🙂

If that family member could get a good word in for us Indiana Jones fans that would love to have a couple more Adventure Series figures, that would be great.
The family member works at Lucasfilm not Hasbro - I'm sure they have less than nothing to do with what toys get made.
My family member has nothing to do with the toys for sure. But at Lucasfilm there are people who know what's getting made by Hasbro, as for the new content especially, they are pretty hands on with Hasbro about what and who they want made, and what can be made and when.
So, someone he talked to said these were upcoming figures.
Maybe it's completely wrong. I just thought it was cool and thought I'd share.
Make no mistake, he'd never tell me anything that was important, or secretive as they are under massive NDA's, and I'd never ask him to tell me for his job's sake.
But he heard this from someone he works with, and since he and I are collectors, he thought it was exciting and told me.
So, I was just sharing with you all here.
Like I said, it was nothing too shocking at all. You'd HAVE to take the chance to make a Wookie Jedi as a toy, then Vernesta and The Stranger. Bazil was the only one that surprised me.
