MAFEX C-3PO laughs at your Vader hate.

Four years ago the MAFEX Rogue One Vader was my main display version, then SHF ROTJ Vader wrestled the position away. Looking at it now I'm like....a lot has happened in four years....

Yeah, that MAFEX C-3PO remains the most frustrating toy I've ever owned.

SHF ROTJ Vader with cloth robes has been my go-to Vader for years. It's good enough to where I don't feel the need to upgrade. That, or changing the robes was such a pain in the ass that I can't imagine replacing it.

I skipped this MAFEX re-release and the various Black Series Vaders this year but couldn't resist the SHF Obi-Wan Series Vader. I'm expecting it to take the top spot.

I’m a bit frustrated by the *latest shf’s legs, not much movement for thigh swivel and the ankles barely allow for anything but a museum pose.
Top half is ok apart from the cape not sitting right and the helmet is quite limited. I suspect (from memory) the previous shf was better.

LMAO that infamous Threepio will haunt your dreams.

I don't know why I thought that SHF Kenobi Vader was sold out. I am seeing it in stock right now for $65 on AmiAmi and my hatred for this Mafex has increased. I am dumb.

It was pre-sold out, more stock added when it released. I was kinda worried since I wasn't able to secure a pre-order but was easy just to grab after.

Is the SHF Vader that great?  You guys are making want to dig in and check this thing out.    The Mafex Vader's cut in middle of his torso always held me back from getting it..  It looks so weird to me.

Both the SHF RotJ and Obi-Wan Darth Vaders are terrific. I do think that the Obi-Wan Vader is just a bit better overall, especially out the box. RotJ Vader needs some work. I replaced his plastic tunic and weird cape with some Black Series soft goods. Meanwhile, the Obi-Wan Vader's stock cape and robes are good enough as they are.

Maybe it's just mine, but my RotJ Vader also has a kinda loose right arm that makes holding out his lightsaber difficult and the lightsaber blade sits very loose in the hilt, it likes to pop out on me a lot. The Obi-Wan Vader has no such problems. I think his hands get a bit of a tighter grip on the lightsaber too.

ESB/RotJ is my preferred look for Vader, and the 2.0 RotJ Vader is nearly perfect for me. I did replace his cape with the softgoods TBS one, but I prefer the plastic skirt. All his joints are perfect too on mine.

The SHF RotJ and Obi-Wan Vaders are both great, it mainly depends if you want a pre-ESB or post-ESB look. Me, I much prefer the red lenses and green chest switch, plus the OWK comes with cloth robes and a dab of silver on the left side of the mask to give the impression of catching the light to mimic the asymmetrical paint finish of the movie helmet prop.

I've heard the Obi-Wan Vader's cape is a pain (how it sits on the neck, mostly), and the ankles are frustrating. I'd entertain the idea of replacing my ROTJ version if everything else was good enough.

Would love a video review if you can get to it, Robo.

I will say the way the cape sorta "collars" around the neck isn't ideal. Outside of that, it's actually pretty nice. As for the ankles, they honestly don't feel much worse than RotJ Vader's ankles do. It's mainly the head that took a hit when it comes to range, especially the damaged one.

I opened up two guys in black outfits yesterday, Mafex Darth and SHF Batman (Flash version).  They're both okay.  If I had to keep only one, I would go with Darth.  I preordered the Mafex because I didn't have a Darth from the them and passed on the Obi-Wan version because I had two  previous SHF Darths.

So, I got these two this week and SHF Yuzuriha (bought two) last week.  I wasn't overly enthused with any of them, which isn't good at these prices
