@tenime

You still got that Tommy head I was gonna buy off you? I remember it was before the crash and move. Just was wondering if you still were willing to part with it.

I'm fine without the remastered figures. The flaws they have outweigh the pluses in terms of price. I'm fine with my old figures. At least I know what they're like already lol. Getting Kim and Zack for those alt heads would be nice, but not a big deal.

After extensive back and forth, I finally decided to go with the Remasters and ultimately I'm glad I did.  Out of the six, the only one I had issues with was Trini and BBTS replaced her quickly and with no issues.  I really enjoy the accurate helmets and the effects pieces, the whole set together looks wonderful.  A good chunk of the money I spent on Remastered was made back selling my old ones.  The icing on the cake for me was that I was able to keep the unmasked heads from the original set, plus I was able to score the unmasked heads for metallic Rocky, Adam, Aisha, and Kat, so I have every unmasked head option available which I really like.  The PR corner of my toy collection feels very complete to me.

@trunks3540 Losing my PMs hurt. I owe someone a broken Loot Crate TMNT Danny arm, but don't know who or where to send it. 😥

@tenime Well I am still interested if you're still willing to sell. Lemme know and you can email me or whatever. That's how I've been doing the deals here. If you don't want to its cool. I was just hoping to replace mine since I used it for what I wanted to do with the extra one lol.

I got my ZA Megazord today. And A Squad Pink from SPD.

I'll do pink first since she's easy. She came with the proper helmet. I didn't know there was a running change that actually gave her the right one. But this one sure enough has the helmet she's supposed to instead of the red reused. Kinda happy about that. Just need A Squad Green and I'll have that whole team, even though I didn't really care too much about it lol.

Now for the Megazord. Umm, I am gonna consider this a sidegrade. It's taller, but that's because the legs are longer, the body is about the same size. It connects pretty well, nothing really falls off. The extra joints on all the zords are nice. And I like how the sword is. Nice and stiff. And it holds it well.

But here's the bad. No metal. While this doesn't seem like a terrible thing, because it doesn't have metal it feels a bit light. And mine has a giant scrap on the arm where the plastic dried to the inside of the shoulder pad, whereas the old Legacy one has metal arms and the paint is non existent. The knees are a bit loose. Buy not all of it. It has, like 3 or 4 disc's because of how it transforms and fits together. But some of the discs are so tight I don't know how a kid could move them, and some are so loose the torso just flops over sometimes. The Robot head discs are also sort of loose, so the helmet that slides around the head doesn't stay right in either spot, and there is nothing to click it into position. The paint on the head was also jacked up. The white line on the nose was off center and smeared over his eye. Had to fix that. I feel like the paint on the sword hilt will also rub off fairly easy. And I couldn't get the alternate hands on. The holes were too small. So I never swapped them. The TRex chest doesn't like to stay closed in tank mode. The weight of the Mammoth head pulls it down. Doesn't seem like it snaps into place either, just floats there. And since it's legs aren't metal they feel frail and I feel like I'm gonna break it trying to transform it. And the long legs do bother me a bit, but not overly so.

I got it standing in the Legacy Titanus, but I can't get the chest piece to fit on the Pterodactyl chest so it doesn't look accurate to the show. And it fits in there but its really right. I don't have the Dragonzord to put on there either so it'll have to just sit in there as a display piece.

I like it. But, it was not worth the original price. Even the $110 I paid for it wasn't necessarily great either. Even with inflation, I wonder how Legacy did one that was like $60 with metal, but this is all plastic, some of which feels like paper, and is like over double the price. Those extra joints can't have cost a whole other Megazord, especially when they're not using metal. And they can't blame it on "premium paint" cause some of it is dog shit and scrapes off super easy.

How well do the original bandai space aliens scale with the Super7 ones?

Managed Remastered Yellow for $21 & Mesogog for $16 off Amazon last week.

Now I just need Remastered Blue & "Remastered" Rita. Any advice how to achieve that without grossly overpaying? 😑

I have Goldar in both versions and the scale is nearly identical.  I don't have a pic, though.

Well looks like the line is officially dead. What a bummer. I still wanted quite a few teams done. And more monsters. And from what it looks like, Playmates is gonna focus on kids toys. Plus, playmates figures are largely trash. They may do zords well, but I doubt they'll do anything big or amazing.

A blurb from April 22:

"The future for the Power Rangers brand has been revealed today as Hasbro announced that rival toy company Playmates Toys (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Voltron) has acquired the toy license for the brand from Hasbro.

As part of the deal, Playmates Toys acquires the global (excluding Asia) rights to make Power Rangers action figures, vehicles, roleplay toys, and plush items.

Playmates Toys has also revealed that their first offering for Power Rangers toys will be in 2025 with a kids-targeted line of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers toys.

Stay tuned for more details."

So, it looks like Hasbro bought Power Rangers,  tried to cash in, couldn't figure it out, and has promptly licensed it out.

This would seem to suggest that Super7's license may have also expired for the property, although it doesn't explicitly state that.

Were team boxsets really that big of a puzzler?

Thanks for the info - I hadn't heard this news before. Whelp, makes me glad I splurged on the Etsy Rito. My collection is complete!

I read somewhere that Super7s done with them too. How true it is I do not know, but as I haven't seen them really solicit any new preorders and are clearancing out the current ones some places, I would guess it's true.

Supposedly, the Voltron that Playmates did is lauded as one of the best versions of the big bot. So, they may be able to get a decent handle on the zords, maybe. But the figures are gonna be kid toy trash. Probably won't have painted weapons, or alternate heads, be 5 inches tall, and go back to looking like Superman and Barbie dolls, for males and females respectively. Their Star Trek toys are laughable, and I haven't seen a Turtle figure they've done that I liked besides the rereleases from the 80s. And those are actually pretty dated too, just have some nostalgia glasses for those.

I read somewhere that Hasbro did reserve the right to make collector friendly offerings for the Hasbro Pulse site. But they will no longer make anything for retail. Most people are hoping it's the rest of the MMPR helmets and weapons that didn't get released yet. But it could honestly be nothing at all.

It is really surprising they didn't continue the MMPR helmets - unless they were selling THAT poorly.

I'm sad to know the line is done, especially with good characters left unmade (Ivan Ooze, Rito, Squat, Baboo) but thank goodness they made a proper Rita. She really is the crown jewel in this line.

I picked up a vintage Baboo and he scales pretty well with Super7 Goldar, so that's something.
