I didn't even know about the Giganotosaurus, so I missed its & the Therazin's preorders.
This line has been exceedingly easy to buy in stores in my area. Hopefully the same is true in yours.
I didn't know about the pre-orders at all or the Giga either until you just posted about it.
Glad to see the giga has the new small feet. My most-wanted enhancement to the line is a mid-torso joint. Most animals can turn around and look backwards, but all of the Hammond dinos usually can't turn more than about 30 degrees to the side.
Claire looks.... alright. It's her Fallen Kingdom outfit, which is arugably her most interesting. Her face isn't great, but it's hard to get the likeness on the smaller figures. And hey, we're all in it mostly for the dinos anyway, right?
The figure looks nothing like Bryce Howard. Man do I hate 1:18 scale humans now that the 1:12 and 1:6 scales are so much more detailed, but as you pointed out the Jurassic humans are mostly in my displays to show the scale of the dinos so it doesn't affect me much with this line. It does bug me with the Star Wars Vintage Collection though, and I just can't bring myself to buy any of those other than the ships and a figure to sit in their cockpits.
I hadn't seen those pre-orders either, but yeah most of these haven't been hard to find on the shelves. Especially the bigger/more expensive ones.
That giganotsaurus looks incredible! Now I'm really glad I never got the other 1:18 one they did with the weird torso articulation.

I never saw the irritator either, but I also didn't go looking for it. I don't buy the species that are very similar to others, and the irritator looks so much like baryonx that I passed on it. I could have easily snagged it on Amazon though and didn't.
I've yet to pre-order the Giga and Theri yet too. I think they look great, and I'm definitely gonna add them to the collection, but I'm still finding a ton of Rexy almost any time I go down the toy aisle. There's that little part of me telling myself that, because Rexy is still so plentiful, stores may not order as many of these 2 and just to get them, but the other part of me is saying to wait. I'm sure they'll at least hit a sale online if nothing else, so even if I can't find them in store, I should be okay. I'll probably grab Delta and the Pyro whenever I see them, because other than the Baby Stego, no smaller scale dinos have really stuck around in my area. Claire, however, can wait- humans are definitely the pegwarmers 'round these parts.
The giga and theri should be available now, but they're "sold out" online with no indication if they're in stores. Did a Popfindr lookup on both but all of my local stores show zero in stock. Just another of Target's endless iterations of inventory mistakes I presume. Anyone find either one yet?
Finished Chaos Theory last night. I quite dug it! I liked Camp Cretaceous well enough, but I quite appreciated the darker tones of Chaos Theory- there was some actual death and stakes. A couple cool dinos and some interesting new characters that I wonder if we'll see cross over into the new movies (the Atrociraptor handler is so weird, but so cool at the same time- can't wait to see more of her). The show really made me want some Atrociraptors in the Hammond Collection. Part of me is quite tempted to get some of the basic Chaos Theory figures- I mostly just want the human characters (first time I've said that for a JP line, I think)- the Nublar Six were tough enough to track down in the Camp Cretaceous line, since I snoozed on that when it first came out.
As for the Theri and Giga- haven't seen them in my neck of the woods yet, but I'm excited to. Just sold off my old Theri, and I have almost $20 in rewards left over from before they got rid of their Target Circle rewards, so I'm ready to use them on a shiny new dino!
Grabbed both Theri and Giga midnight Sunday. Was hoping to place a drive-up order (did get a Falcon-Cap drive-up though) like I usually do with new release day items but had to order instead. Haven't seen any in stores, nor tags or spots during my runs today. Items have shipped with delivery by Wednesday but it's coming Fedex so it could be as late as the weekend!
Tempted to get the Giga pulled from the storeroom, but I know these things will go on sale in a short while. Happens every time.
Got my dinos from Target. Giga is a thing of absolute beauty. I highly recommend her. Bigger than the HC Rexie as she should be, quite a chonker too. The mainline release was far too skinny IMO. Very heavy figure. Definitely what you'd expect of the largest land carnivore and gives me hope that a HC Spino wouldn't be too big for them to make. I have a weaker ankle on the left side but she still seems to be handling her pose fine and hasn't toppled over. Kind of a problem with this line overall. Those joints need to be ratcheted. The tail functions like the neck of the HC brachio. Good range of motion. However she's still warm from traveling in the Fedex truck so we'll see how that plastic performs later. The neck "skin" on my brachio is too thick for my liking and restricts the movement.
Therizeno is the same on the tail. I like them going in this direction. The paint work is nice on her, especially the head. I had no real issue with the mainline release. I think it had more articulation than your average figure and that seemed to suit it fine. This one of course gives you more and the added claw joints. I think it's a worthy upgrade but if you can only grab one it's definitely the giganotosaurus.
Eager to start seeing them in person- we're still sitting on a bunch of Rexy and Carno here. I've only seen a couple in-hand photos and reviews, but I think they look good. I'm sure I won't be able to resist getting the Theri at full price- it's always been one of my fav dinos, ever since I watched my dad play Dino Crisis as a kid (despite that Theri being wildly inaccurate, but still). The Giga looks cool, but Dominion, for me, was such a disappointment outside of the Atrociraptor scene. But hey, I'm always down for a cool looking dino toy, but that one I think I can wait for a sale (or just use up the last of my Target rewards)
I did see the first of the Chaos Theory figures in store yesterday- the Ben and Darius packs. Passed on them for now- I think I prefer Darius in his yellow jacket more than the blue shirt- the yellow just feels more like the character to me. Plus, while I like the basic dinos, especially those who haven't gotten Hammond Collection rep yet, I think I wanna wait for them to get their HC versions. Especially the Atrociraptors, even if it'll be a heck of a while until we have all 4, if the Raptor Squad is any indication. I wish they'd just release a pack of the kids themselves- that was my gripe with the Camp Cretaceous stuff too. If you wanted the kids, you had to get like 5 or 6 different packs, and some of them were darn near impossible to find. I may just overcompensate this time around and get all the different packs (my poor wallet), and try and offload any extra dinos I don't want/need. Or if anyone is getting the CC/CT packs and doesn't want any of the Nublar 6, hit me up!
If you have the means to pick one up, and Brickseek shows your store has them in stock, I highly recommend the Giganotosaurus. It is so choice! Yeah, I want some HC atrocoraprtors now. They got to be coming anytime now. Easy repaint potential. While I'm not enthused with the version of Claire we're getting, I do plan on grabbing two for both looks. I just want a disheveled JW1 Claire! Basic in a multipack, HC, don't really care.
Never watched Camp Cretaceous. Really have no need of the new figures. Show looked cool. I just don't have Netflix and don't want to waste the money. I had it years ago but if I can snag a free month I'll binge it. I really want to watch Beverly Hills Cop 4 too. The baby Apatosaurus is about all I want so far.
