Good to know. I usually check all around but sometimes I just want out of a packed store. Saw my store got in Dimetrodon so I did another curb-side pick up for him and the WWE Legends debut era Hulk Hogan. Dimetrodon could be a tad larger but I think the basic figures before it were way too big. The front ankles are perplexing considering they have a bulldog-like stance in the film. To get that you have to have the front feet tucked inward. Some kind of balljoint should have been used too instead of a swivel and hinge setup. Still a decent release.
Snagged Dimetrodon from Target today. Was available for pickup at a Target a bit farther away, so placed a pickup order since it wasn't available for pickup at my nearest Target. Still ended up finding it at my nearest Target, and even though it was ringing up for $18 versus the $15 online, I figured with the subway fare and everything, it would even out, so I got it. They had Owen too, but I had a harder time justifying his purchase. I'll wait for my slightly cheaper Amazon order to ship.
Anywho, she's a beaut. Happy it's my first HC purchase of the year. Can't wait to crack it open and add it to the shelf. If the rumors are true for the upcoming HC figs, it's gonna be a good (but probably expensive) year!

What are the rumored HC figures?
@kingbowser Take it with a grain of salt, obviously, as plans change all the time, but CollectJurassic on Instagram (who's usually pretty reliable with scoops) posted recently about Delta, Pyroraptor, Therizinosaurus, and Giganotosaurus as being some of the next releases. Theri and Giga they were more vague about, but heavily hinted at an HC release, whereas the Pyro and Delta are supposedly based on listings in store's systems. But who knows?
Well, Delta's just a repaint of an existing mold so he/she's a no-brainer.
Thank you for posting that. I am very excited by the prospect of Therizinosaurus. I have thought about buying the version that has been on store shelves, but was holding out and hoping for a Hammond Collection version.
I am surprised a T-Rex repaint isn't on the list (JP2 for instance). I have been waiting for them to re-use the mold as an excuse to buy a second.
So I am working on culling my dinosaur herd (my herd is 100s from the full line, not Hammond Collection) - but having a hard time deciding on how to do that...goal is to reduce the footprint and more or less be done. Some options:
1 - Keep 1 of every species. This has some appeal, but is a long list and it seems like a mish-mash at times, but other times it has some appeal when lining up the various Triceratops adjacent species...
2 - Keep 2 to 4 (depending on size) of the species that actually appeared in the films. In this scenario, do I go with the film accurate colors (which are often pretty dull) or more vibrant? If I focus just on the films, I could keep one closest to the film colors and a second more vibrant colored one - much like birds I could assume that the coloring differs based on sex. Another question - all 6 films, or first 3?
3 - Focus on species I like the most, like keeping a half-dozen Stegosaurus or a dozen Dilophosaurus. This is the army-building approach and has some merit but opens me up to adding more of those key dinos...
So I am leaning towards option 2 being the baseline, and if I have room maybe adding in some extras where I have pairs like the Sarcosauchus. Downside is being tempted to keep pairs for too many species.
Anyway, was curious if others have a schema for their display...?
Note that the humans and core vehicles get their own shelf - if I recreate any scene it would of course be the T Rex attack from the first film, as we have everything to do it (apart from fencing and the goat leg...)

I've thought that too (as I'm sure a good number of people have), but I wonder if the failed Mattel Creations Kickstarter has anything to do with it. I'm sure it's not out of spite (though these days, you never know), but I'm sure it would make Mattel look a little bad if the fundraiser failed and then they immediately put out the repainted Rex, showing that they could've just done that to begin with. I'm sure we'll get it eventually, but it'll probably be a year or two to give enough time for the awkwardness to wear off. Rex always sells, and Buck and Doe are fairly high on a lot of collector's lists. I'm sure it's an inevitability.
I too found the Dimetrodon over the weekend, and aside from the articulation blunders previously mentioned in the thread, I like it. One more Legacy figure I can get rid of!
Was also surprised to see Blue on the back. The planned releases of this line always catch me by surprise, due to not being able to visit this thread too often, and no other avenues really cover this line (I tried watching Andy's Dinosaur Reviews, but he over-praises the most high-end expensive 3rd party offerings while nitpicking cheap accessible retail Mattel product, and that just rubbed me the wrong way too many times).
I did see the Barry set yesterday at my local Target, but not in the same aisle as all the JW stuff.
Saw this today, oddly despite being a box it had a hangtag and was on the pegs, not a shelf. Almost missed it.
Spotted Hammond Collection Owen and Dimetrodon at Target today.
@fac If you or anyone does get the Barry pack, let us know what you think. I'm really only interested in the Barry figure for the human roster, so I'd wait for it to come down in price, if it ever does, but still interested in the set itself.
On another note, with most of the upcoming HC supposedly being from Dominion, I really hope we start seeing some Atrociraptors. I never bothered with the originals, since their releases were so oddly spread out and hard to get, but their chase sequence was one of the few scenes in the movie I actually liked.
@joshsquash729 I did get the Barry set - I mean it isn't that exciting but I figured the new character (even if not ma major one) and the likeness is OK but typical for the scale. Does have elbow and knee joints to ride the ATV.
ATV is new I think - it feels slightly oversized to me, but I like it as it isn't gimmicky like some of the vehicles, and if the set gets clearanced I'd consider a second set just for that. Velociraptor Charlie is a decent muted color.
I haven't gone back to compare to the film for accuracy, and it isn't essential, but I like the set as additional background for the display.
Luckily the ATV is just a big a draw as Barry is for me. It's not 100% screen accurate. It's a legally distinct from whatever brand they used in the film, same with that ripper-pull Owen on bike we got when the line first started for Fallen Kingdom. I saw Barry in several stores this week but didn't pull the trigger. I too shall wait for the sale. Same with Dieter from TLW set. I guess that stubby little truck was in the film. Both raptors are really no good to me although the TLW tiger stripe one is a better version over the barrel chested MOTU waist action version I'm currently using in my setup. I'm sure HC versions of a TLW raptor and Charlie or Delta or whoever that raptor with Barry is is coming soon (I know another one of the squad is coming after Blue).
So I grabbed Barry and the Dieter set. Pretty good stuff but the truck with Dieter brings up my biggest problem with the line, the lack of human figures. We have these vehicles designed to carry multiple figures but very few figures are available. I use the two generic mercs we got in Fallen Kingdom with the vehicle Tembo came with. Dieter will go with my other humans. Most of my vehicles go unmanned. I guess you can technically put any figure with them but I want movie specific vehicles manned with movie specific characters. Give us more mercs, and generic characters! I guess I can pull in some 25th GI Joes to fill in.
