Is it house-trained, though? I don't want to come home from work one day to a puddle on my hardwood...
Welp, Giga's out for delivery! Fingers crossed I don't have to exchange it later...
Entertainment Earth has a calendar of upcoming preorders. Looks like there’s a Hammond Collection one going up August 2nd and another September 2nd. Likely something to be revealed at SDCC. No hints just a listing.
Just found out about the sale so I was luckily able to get a price adjustment on my day one online order. I hate when Target does that. A week after release they do a sale. They do that with WWE Elite Legends stuff. You don't know whether to risk not getting it or getting it on sale. Luckily the process was quick and easy.
@tenime That's quite the collection there, my friend! If I had that collection as a kid, I'd have been the happiest! I'd never leave my room! I'm hoping the Spino is the next big Hammond output, personally. Always been my fav JP dino, and the Chompin' one is nice (and I also have one of the Nanmu Studios ones, I think), but I've been chompin' at the bit for a well articulated one for ages! I need to put that small, Victorian child inside me to rest, because he never got his properly colored JP3 Spino toy as a kid. Also- kudos on 2 Ankys. If I was even slightly talented with paint, I'd have tried my hand on making an HC Bumpy, though I still hold out hope we may get one one day.
Well, my Theri/Giga combo was supposed to arrive yesterday, and then today. But it's still in Kansas, and I'm in NY, and it's moving at a snail's pace, so probably next week. Alas, I was hoping to have them as a treat for getting through this rough week, but it's all good. Seeing as how the Theri is blind and the Giga is a big ol' grump, I can only imagine they're getting into a heartwarming buddy comedy out on the road until they get here. I'll live vicariously through you all in the meantime!
Got my theri and giga today. Initial impressions so far are they're both great, and I see no QC issues with either. The Dino Screams reviewer said that the main QC issue he was hearing about was people getting two arms of the same side on both sides, but I'm definitely not seeing that.
My main disappointment is that Rexy has a mid-torso joint, but neither of these do. Wish they'd add that back because Rexy can definitely turn more to the side than the giga can. The theri has a very different neck and head setup, so while it can look further to the side with its long neck it still can't turn much either.
The new tail configurations on both of these that are more like the brach's neck work quite well, no complaints so far. Neither tail has loose skin like the brach does. Both tails can come back out as well which helps with storage. Early Hammond Collection tails couldn't come back off, but most of the ones from the past year or more do come back off. Therizinosaurus's claws are each individually articulated, and I LOVE that, they work quite well.
A few pics of the giga, Rexy, and theri for scale.

I like your take on a delay. I'm usually just like "Dangit carrier, where's my stuff!" OK, it's never that clean!
I think the major QC flubs will end up being very rare. Not many people had these at the start so just one or even two errors on the arms seems like a major issue. I'm sure once most of us have these figures we'll see how rare those issues turn out to be. I saw two gigas on the shelf this week and both looked to have all the right parts.
For the next two Hammond offerings, which have preorder dates on EE, what would you like to see? We still haven’t gotten an adult stegosaurus, which would be nice since it’s such a classic dino.
My big wants are Spinosaurus and Indominus Rex. Stego I would definitely buy but the two carnivores are my priority.
Edit: Just got back from Walmart and nabbed the baby apatosaurus. Pretty nice figure. I think that's the sauropod they had the kids riding in the petting zoo in Jurassic World which is why I wanted the baby one so much. Plus, I'm a mark for any sauropod!
Stegosaurus would definitely be nice sooner rather than later. It seems like such an "A-list" dino, that it's weird we've gotten such random obscure ones before it.
I would obviously love to swap out my Legacy, and given the baby they released for Hammond (& that I got two), I'd prefer the color scheme to match, haha.
