Hey guys, we don’t have a thread for this one.
anyways I’ve been seeing it on instagram, people are finding the first wave of figures at Marshall’s for $12.99.

Quite a surprise as I never saw them in retail stores, unless they were only for pulse.

if anyone is interested now you know, happy hunting.

I found an Embiid yesterday and posted in the Marvel board's sales thread because there was no thread here, lol.  I hadn't heard anything prior, so it was a surprise find.

Amazing to me how this line tanked to reach the point they dumped these at Marshalls while Fanatics still has 5 figures on their website for $30 still.

It appears it didn't just kill the NBA line, but I have to assume the NFL line they announced about a year ago isn't happening.

Yeah this line just wasn't a great idea from go.

They should have coordinated with Sports shops and pushed them through there.

I can't imagine what they spent on likenesses.

It was priced for grown up collectors and targeted at newer fans. The first wave should have been Jordan, Magic, Bird... you know, the players the people expected to pay 50 dollars a figure grew up idolizing. The only current players who maybe belonged in wave 1 were Lebron and Curry, but really it should have been just Dream Team caliber players.

Yeah, I would have purchased all of these players if they were available

Well, not Karl Malone because of the stuff that's come out about him.  But I'd have bought the rest.

And for us, we can understand $50 a figure even if we think it's too high.  But to non-collectors who haven't bought any action figures since the original Starting Lineup figures were out for under $5 each, try telling them a toy costs $50.

As a new basketball fan and Mavericks fan, I was probably only ever going to buy Luka anyway, so I'm not too upset about this line not taking off.  I may have picked up a Dirk if they did go with former players, just for the Mavericks history.

I'm sure Hasbro will blame the market, but it's on them. About 100 questionable design choices, insane pricing, and poor player selection. I won't even mention the NFT thing.

There's probably not a huge audience for this kind of stuff, but it was certainly bigger than what they got.

So no MLB baseball Starting Lineup?

Marauder Task Force just needs proper head, pants, maybe shoes for baseball. They already have cap, gloves, bat and capable of posing a nice open batting stance.

Is this a common thing across the country right now?

Saw this same amount of figures at Marshall's and TJMaxx today, and a few Steph Currys. I'm in LA so maybe we got all our local dudes and other places are getting the others? $12.99 and they don't appear to be moving.

Took home a Steph just to see how the figures are and for another cheap flight stand. This presentation does not lend itself to a $50 price tag - these boxes are... not great.

These must have really failed for Hasbro to sell so much to a discount chain.

I don't think I've ever seen any modern Hasbro Starting Lineup in stores ever, not even Lids Locker Room.

Marshall's and TJ Maxx here never had anything good like from Hasbro or Mattel.

Oh wow Ive never seen these in stores, anywhere. I wonder why they were never on shelves. I would have bought at least one, although its not worth $50. However, its still worth more than whatever statues would otherwise be released from McF.

They were always a Pulse exclusive during the pilot first wave.  The only reason they're in stores now is to clear them out.

UFC action figures never seemed to take off either. Never heard of subsequent waves after the initial one and saw one in Ross with offcentered face paint apps.

Yep. Not a sports fan at all, but I would've happily would've spent full price on all the classics.

As is, I got Lebron on sale, and only because I had just seen Space Jam 2, haha.

Sucks, because I really would've liked some classic players from other sports as well. Especially Fridge for my Classified display.
