I'm one of the 5 people out there who prefers GB2 to the original, so I'm crossing my fingers that they eventually do a Vigo figure (if not Hasbro, then somebody needs to do one. Give me 3rd party, even). However, getting Tully in this look is great news! Excited for next year when this actually ships.

Both Mattel and DST have made him.  Don't know about aftermarket costs, but the Mattel version will work just fine with the Hasbro figures.

Interesting, you learn something new every day. I had completely missed those, must have been before I started collecting toys in '20. Thank you! I'll have to check them out.

just looked vigo up, found a comparison of the DST and mattel versions.

DST on the left, mattel on the right.

hopefully hasbro can find a way to do their version.

DST is the better version, IMO. Since Vigo was supposed to be large in general, it may work with Plasma series displays. I wouldn't mind seeing a Hasbro version though.  Hopefully Ecto 1 crosses the finish line and maybe we get a few more figures out there if the rumors of another movie are true.

@new-batman What the hell is that on the right?   Mattel really put that out?  Geez that is a terrible likeness, especially when you have the DST version right beside it.

Hasbro should be able to do better than Mattel if they ever decide to do him.

Here we go:

Ecto-1:

8,874 / 12,000 (+65) 73.95% of funding goal with 27d 18h left.

Well it looks like we can settle in now for the slow slog of funding until the final days when it will jump up again.

Wow the daily backer numbers have sunk like a stone. Went from still getting triple digit daily gains 4 days ago, to almost single digit daily gains today. Yes this is the doldrums of the funding period so it is to be expected. However I didn't think it would drop off so quickly after Tully was added in to the Haslab.

@canprime Part of the poor showing yesterday is on me, I got thinking about it and decided that the 1:18 scale Ecto-1 and the o-ring set of 4 main cast was better for space going forward, so dropped my backing and went that route. Should have figured that out before I got the Terror Dogs off of eBay, but...

While the HasLab is clearly superior and a fair deal for the scale, in the end I decided I'd be as happy with the smaller scale and footprint and the non-premium price.

If it looks like it won't fund by one person, I will jump back in...

@fac BOO!!!!  HISS!!!!!

Haha.   Whatever works for you, no need to apologize.   I have 3 Ecto-1s across the RGB reissue and Afterlife and Playmobil.   I don't need anymore, but I can't pass up the Haslab.  This bloody hobby and my weak will means I'll have 4 Ecto-1s next year.

Someone made a good point on another forum about my update.   The election might have sucked up most of the oxygen in the US so it would make sense to see the numbers barely move.  Let's see how it goes tomorrow.

@canprime My only GB before this was the Minimates line. I was tempted by the Lego Ecto-1 to go with the Minimates, but never got that, and I looked at the Playmobil a few times but never pulled the trigger. 1:18 is really my preference for 70's to 90's films/TV anyway...

@fac Yeah I was good with a lot of my collection being 1:18 scale until the 6" revolution over the past decade(+).  Now I have switched over to mostly 1:12 scale for the majority of my collection.

Honestly the only reason I have all 3 of the Ecto-1s I do have is because of sales.  I got RGB ($25) and Afterlife ($15)at Winners/Marshalls (Winners is TJMaxx's brand in Canada, and well Marshall's is Marshall's).  The Playmobil one I got at Walmart during Black Friday a couple years ago for $35 which was about 50% off Canadian retail.

I don't have any figures outside of the Playmobil ones so the Haslab will fill that gap in one fell swoop.  And from all appearances a pretty damn great looking Ecto-1/A and Slimer and Library Ghost..AND TULLY!!!

It won't be cheap, especially with the exchange rate (about $625Cdn, thank god for free shipping for Premium members).   However I think I'll be okay with that as my ultimate Ecto-1.  Question now is do I sell the rest off or keep them since they are all different takes on the Ecto-1??   Practical me says I only need the Haslab, but collector me says I GOTTA CATCH THEM ALL!!!!

8,958 / 12,000 (+30) 74.65% of funding goal with 24d 17h left.

Well a little better than yesterday, but definitely settling in to the low double digit daily gains for the next couple of weeks.

I'd be curious to know whether there are any GBs fans who has the Plasma line but IS NOT buying the Haslab. It feels like a slam dunk to me and with all the noise about wanting an in scale Ecto-1 why the hesitation? The price is the price, we all knew it'd be expensive and Hasbro did a great job of giving options at least.

@miraclemen There probably are a few.   I have seen videos by Youtubers, and some posts online, of people who say they care about the figures not the vehicles.   So it could be feasible that there is a small portion of fans who won't bother with the Haslab because they only care about the figures.  Though how they get Tully, Slimer or Library Ghost is probably going to be an expensive option on the secondary market.

There might be more fans who won't get it because of the price because they can't, or won't, swing the high cost.

@miraclemen I have Plasma figures and no desire to own an Ecto-1 that scales with them. Tully would be cool to have, but I'm definitely not buying a giant car I don't want to get him.

8,997 / 12,000 (+39) 74.98% of funding goal with 23d 18h left.

Just shy of 3/4 to the funding total. Lot's of time left and still really only a question of what the final total will be because this will fund.
