It might help if they actually showed the deadline counter for Tully to drive some urgency to support - unless I am missing it, it doesn't say when the 14 days ends. Is it midnight Nov 1?

Yeah they really aren't clear on when it specifically ends.   Frankly they aren't very good at keeping things in the public eye, both on the site and in general.   The site constantly has to add new product which pushes the Haslab down the page so you can't see it right away, and then someone seems to remember it is a special item and puts it back at the top.   As for Tully, there really isn't anything promoting his early bird status.

Quite frankly the various teams have all gotten fairly blaise about promoting Haslabs.   There is very little done to keep people interested over time after the first few days, and the last few days.   Now is that because of staff cuts meaning everyone is too busy, or is it just a general policy now of "hey it's out there let it run."   Because it is night and day in the current Haslab environment compared to the early days of the Khetanna, Unicron, etc.  When there were lots of updates to keep people interested/aware.

Anyway...

Ecto-1:

8,034 / 12,000 (+438) 66.95% of funding goal with 33d 19h left.

Nice! Glad to see a fair sized daily gain. Still well below what we need to unlock Louis, but maybe(???) this is the beginning of an upward trend for the next couple days?

Forgive me if this has been talked about already, I don’t follow GB news very closely, but has it ever been addressed as to why Hasbro isn’t doing Real Ghostbusters figures?

I’d love for a 6” team to go with all the other 80’s cartoon lines I have, but dropping $400 for just the four guys from Mondo isn’t something I’m interested in. I kept waiting for Mattel to make them years ago and kept hoping Hasbro would make them now, but they seem to have passed the baton.

With the talk around the Mondo stuff I got the impression that Hasbro just doesn't have interest in doing them. Or at least, the perception is that Hasbro isn't interested. Now, if the Mondo stuff does well and gets a lot of attention don't be surprised if Hasbro wades into those waters in the future.

Just got an email from them about some new preorders, and near the bottom it indicates that the Tully early bird ends at Midnight (EST) on Saturday.

Hasbro always seems to maintain plausible deniability that their ~$25 figures are for adults and not children. They sort of skirt both worlds, like McFarlane did back in the 90's. Plasma Series, Legends, Black Series... all are kinda hybrid lines that could conceivably sell to many demographics. A RGB line, though, might only appeal to adult collectors, whereas there was a chance that Afterlife and Frozen Empire would get the OG films on the radar of kids, who would then want toys. I imagine this is how they pitch to retailers.

Though, they could have probably done a great RGB Haslab with a giant Marshmallow Man.

Good to know.   So slightly longer than 14 days (14 days and 12 hours).

Hopefully that extra time helps.

McFarlane has recently started releasing figures with "17+, adult collectible" type legalese on it so they could throw in guns (I think).   Hasbro if I recall correctly wants their product on retail shelves and as such tries to keep it in the "4+" range to accomodate that with the retailers.   They could switch to older targeting on the packaging, but then that might cause some issue, though I can't imagine what, with the big retailers.

I would probably pass on a Haslab Stay Puft offering.   I just don't know that I would care enough for a large figure of him, and what would they do?  Would it be a soft plus, or vinyl, type figure?  A true action figure like the ML Sentinel/Galactus/Giant-Man?   I have the Playmobil Stay Puft and that is quite nice and big enough for me.

@canprime I meant Stay Puft packed in with the four Real Ghostbusters, and maybe some other ghosts with limited articulation. Not just Stay Puft himself. Anyhow, I'm highly doubt they'd do it, but I think it'd fund.

If NECA did RGB figures, I think they'd move faster than Gargoyles. Just might not move the numbers Hasbro needs to make it worth their while.

Age recommendations on toys are based on two things: The abilities of children at different ages and a toy’s specific features, like size and materials.

17+ Adult collectible is possibly gibberish in terms of a government label? It could be based on the idea that the plastic used may not survive semi rough play like a kid throwing the figure or dropping it down the stairs. But if it is a content warning that doesn't make much sense, unless Todd wants his stuff out of the "toy" aisle.

Action figures pretty much are considered fine for kids aged 4 and up if they use stable enough plastic and non-toxic materials, because they are designed for "pretend" play where the child can use their imagination to interact with the toy - which can include gun accessories and other things like that. (Compare this to basic wood toy blocks, which are aged 0-3, as they are designed to promote motor skills and maybe some letter or number recognition, or patterns, but not pretend play). They might get slapped with a slightly later age due to the size of the parts, but the assumption is most kids by age 4 won't put everything in their mouth, and smaller parts like guns can actually be swallowed - it's the things that are big enough to block an airway yet small enough to be swallowed that are the real risk (Think spheres or squares that are more solid). I also think the pliability of the plastic - especially for pointed tips like on say a n action figure knife - that can come into review.

Giant Man is 14+ for instance - not sure why, maybe the metal paint on his belt, maybe the clear plastic of the eyes can splinter...?  EDIT - might be the size and weight meaning he would be inappropriate for a 5 year old...

They actually should have included the series 1 figures, the four main maybe with some new face scanning on a couple that were not up to standard as the early bird. Those figures are jumping up in price on ebay. I'm not backing now until I can secure the series 1 figures. I tried this weekend just for the loose 6 which included the 2 females and the devildog BAF and lost at $133.00 for the loose set. I'm not going any higher than maybe $33 each loose, still in package maybe $38.00.

BBTS still has Ray and Peter for like $13 each. On Amazon, Winston is $24, Dana and Gozer are $13.  Egon's really the only one you need to overpay for.

I went ahead and did the entire set all 6 on ebay unopened, Egon by himself was going for no less than $150 starting loose and I only found around 10 on ebay. I paid a little more than $33 per figure but that includes a BAF I get to put together being this set was unopened. I will go ahead now and back both 1 and 2 for I love these movies and wish the actors didn't have to get old and pass away like me and will do someday but we all do eventually.
