While I would love to have the car for my figures, I don't have the space or the money right now. But some new ghostbusters figures, I would be down for. Hasbro's improved articulation and face printing a lot since 2020, they could do some new figures with better everything.

@spinc Sadly I don't think the interest is there for more individual figures (at least not in the numbers Hasbro wants). I think the car is probably the best they can do for the line as it cuts into the other collector bases outside of action figures. It seems Ghostbuster fans are more in those bases. Cosplay, model vehicles, etc. I do hope they put some figures with the car. They could do the original crew in the GB 2 darker outfits and update the face paint, or they could have the figure add-ins be characters they haven't done. Lewis or Janine. Assuming there's a figure component at all, I suppose. I guess they could try to do some deal where the add-ons are just parts and decals to retrofit the car to match the different movie looks.

I have the Mezco GB set, so I'd like an in scale Ecto I could at least display them with, if not entirely fitting inside it.

That will, of course, come down to the cost if said item is offered.

@salemcrow I can't imagine an Ecto-1 being less than $300 at 1/12 scale, not unless it skimps massively on the details you'd want in it. I'm bracing myself for something closer to $350-$400. Right now I'm debating picking up Ramen's second run at their hellcharger (specifically the "metal black" version they're now offering), and sort of hope it's available at least long enough for me to see what this thing will look like first.

@gambitfan Yep, that's what I thought it'd be. If it's fake I'll be stunned.

@gambitfan Wait, the four in their dark greys AND the Library Ghost AND Lewis AND Slimer!? This thing is gonna cost a mint.

I'm going to guess it'll come in at $400+ minimum. I could see as high as 6-700. Electronics and so many parts for the car...

OMG it's even more. Those picks show BOTH versions of Ecto-1. So that's two sets of option parts, probably with electronics separate in both. Ok, revising my estimate upwards...

Lots of GB2 but no sign of slime blowers?

Tough choice.  I don't really like the Plasma Series stuff, so I'm not sure I'd need a 1/12 Ecto.  I'd prefer 1/10, in the hopes that someone better gets to do figures some day, or barring that, that Mondo does an Ecto for their RGB line.  I know there was a Kickstarter last year for a 1/10 DeLorean by TOMY, and it's at least possible they do an Ecto KS at some point...

Only if they have the license. And unlike Back tot eh Future GB keeps getting new movies meaning the license is more active (likely to cost more).

The figures look kind of shitty. I thought they were O-Ring at first, but I'm guessing most people don't care that much about the Ghostbusters and are more invested in the car, which does look cool. The librarian ghost and Slimer also look nice, I'm just curious what it will cost. Did Hasbro learn anything with the Engine of Vengeance, or are they banking on the Ecto-1 being so much more popular that the EoV failed crowd fund has no basis for comparison here? The Ghostbusters brand as action figures hasn't been very lucrative for Hasbro so I am really curious to see how this one goes. The fans definitely love the prop stuff Hasbro has put out, now to see if the action figure part of the fanbase will turn out for this package.

Well sure, product only ever exists if someone's got the license.  TOMY did a Star Trek Kickstarter previous to the BTTF one, and that's a license that has pretty much never stopped being active.  And if they wanna keep doing die-cast vehicles, the Ecto is a very logical place to look for the next offering.

With licensing restrictions causing the Ghostbusters from Mondo to retail for more than $100 a piece I shudder to imagine what an Ecto-1 would cost. Even though a painted-up toon Ecto-1 by Mondo would probably look amazing, I can't imagine forking over the dough it would cost to secure one.

Very true, but I'm just not that into the idea of finally getting a proper-scale Ecto but at Hasbro quality and for a line I don't like.  TOMY's my own preference, but if I end up with no Ecto at all, I'm fine with that too.
