So,  easy mark, yes me too.    But the way I look at it -  for stuff I want to see more of I vote with my wallet.   So even though, yes, I could have saved money waiting to buy all of the D&D Beasts Hasbro released at discount,  I ordered them at full price because I wanted them to succeed and I wanted more.     I do this with all the lines I collect - if I know I want to own it,  I pay full price to show the store and the manufacturer that I like it and want similar product to keep coming.    Obviously I spend more than I might have to,  but if I only buy the things I like, then I don't regret the purchase just because someone else bought it cheaper.

I finally got Doric (just need RJP & brown Owlbear), but I can't even try to see Sophia's face because the lips were painted off the sculpt. I'm bummed, as she was the one I was looking forward to the most. 😑

Cmoney posted this over in the Third Party 1/12 thread. Basically a nude Dragonborn:

After years of hemming and hawing, I finally decided to add a permanent fantasy shelf to my collection. I needed a centerpiece villain, so I bit the bullet on Xanathar on sale at Pulse. He was about $30 shipped. He easily surpassed Marvel Select Apocalypse or Legends Blob as the heftiest piece of plastic in my display. As a detolf collector, I  usually avoid hunking pieces of plastic because they're impractical to display. I wouldn't exactly call him an action figure, but he's an impressive piece of engineering nonetheless. I don't know that I would've paid more for him, but he's good value at $30. My only real complaint is the "stand." It's a huge pain in the ass to get him on there.

I'm not sure he's a long-term fit for the shelf just based on how much real estate he occupies. It'll be a while before I force him out, though. My shelf is largely theoretical right now. The only other thing on it is a couple of Fwoosh Toys skeletons. I've either got the following on pre-order or in my pile of loot:

- NECA's D&D Elkhorn

- Yoto Toys Mimic

- Boss Fight Studios Court of the Dead Death (to serve as a Lich)

- And some figures to serve as fodder for customs of various fantasy characters and D&D characters I've played

Apparently the brown Owlbear is starting to show up in Ollie's stores, so start stalking your stores if you have them.

Man I wish we had Ollies on the west coast.    I would buy SO many cheap Owl Bears.

We definitely don't have Ollies in Chicagoland. I just need the brown Owlbear, and I'm done with Golden Archive.

I’ve been staking out the Ollie’s next to my gym for the past week or so looking for all the new Legends and DND stuff that’s hitting there, but no luck so far. Had today off so I checked out a couple more that are a little farther away, but still nothing. All I’ve seen new is some Retro ML Spider Woman at the one close to me.

I don’t have any other DND stuff, but I love JRPGs and cool toys enough that I’d love to find an Owlbear and Displacer for that price.

you've got to come out to the suburbs Aurora or Streamwood or Crystal Lake

I haven't checked yet

old stock seems to stagnate a lot so I rarely stop in

Dekalb is also getting a store

Behind Portillo's. Huh. Thanks. How long has it been there? I sometimes take County Farm/Barrington up to 90 to go to my mom's in Rockford. I often hit that West Schaumburg Target.

Also, hi, neighbor! Lol

Hey! That was a crazy couple of days!

Anyway I'm out in the Aurora area so I don't know how long that one was there.

Hopefully it is still there after all those tornadoes! 😬

Luckily I didn't have any damage or anything cross my area.
