A lot of people weren't sure why Disney sub-licensed their Marvel and Star Wars IP to IDW to make kid's comics, seeing that Disney has a publishing wing and Marvel is a comic book company. The answer is because they make more money doing nothing and letting someone else take the risk, then hiring more editors and admins to work for Marvel in NYC to manage product for a different demographic than Marvel Comics normally specializes in. That's the IP game.

Works with figures too, I imagine.

I'd think the main characters in BG3 would sell pretty well, but then again, I'm not totally sure I'd pick them up, even though I really enjoy the game (still early on in a play through with my wife) Maybe when I finish I'll feel differently.

@hopethisworks I bet money a wave of Karlach, Shadowheart, and Astarion would sell like hotcakes. Or they could run 3 hero, 1 villain waves and break those up across the line and probably sustain it for a while. I wouldn't necessarily pick up the entire crew you can run with in BG3, but I think enough people would want enough portions of it that the line could be real successful. And you can even cash in on older BG fans with Jahera, Minsc, and others from the previous games who show up.

I definitely think BG3 is probably the most viable D&D toy line you could make right now. There's good, visually interesting monsters and villains, and quite rad party members. You could even do a delux Dark Urge release which would sort of fill in the player character gap.

I'd buy the hell out of a Minsc figure and probably buy Jaheira and Sarevok. I could be interested in some of the newer characters if the figures came out nice - particularly Shadowheart, Astarion, and Lae'Zel. I'd definitely buy mind flayers, whether they were the Emperor or generics.

@aggroninja Yeah, Mind Flayers are a no-brainer 😉

I want to build my core crew from BG3. I ran Shadowheart, Gale, and Lae'zel/Karlach. I'd also take a Mind Flayer.

Basically an echo chamber in here but I want to say it too. Wyll, Karlach, Gale, Shadowheart, Lae'zel, Asterion, Minora, The Emperor, Jahera, Minsc and Boo, and soooo many more characters I would preorder right away. If the waves were not too big I would preorder two of each. Gotta put my money where my mouth is.

Aside from them, could you imagine the default Durge as a figure? Just a cool, large, menacing Dragonborn? I would buy several for customs.

Heck I would buy basically any 1/12 figure they put out from Baldurs Gate, I don't care how small. I just want this line so bad. If Hasbro won't make it, give it to someone else please. Anybody. Diamond Select, S H Figuarts, Neca, literally anybody and I would buy any of these characters up.

I'd get Minthara and Shadowheart in an instant. Really though, any figures would be GREAT to see. I don't know how they'd do Tav as anything other than something akin to the Selfie series, though.

We've gotten leaks for LEGO Dungeons & Dragons, both a massive set and blind box minifigures, and they're designing them to be able to swap parts and make any race, any gender, any class. But also making named characters like Strahd. That would be the romantic ideal for a proper toyline should we ever get one.

It's insane that the only proper merchandise I've seen is all unofficial bootlegs. We can get bootleg plushies of all party members and some villains, but not a single bit of official merchandise outside maybe some shirts.

I’ve not really been keeping track of posts in here lately because Hasbro’s D&D has really been underwhelming compared to NECA and Super7. I really wouldn’t mind seeing Hiya Toys get a shot at 1:18th D&D. Their interpretation of GI Joe Classified looks really good! I definitely would love to see what they could do with Drizzt and other favorites!

I think they'd just do the default Dark Urge.

I think it's on sale for half that at the Hasbro Outlets page on Pulse site (the link is in the Sale Thread in the Marvel Forum) for anyone looking.      I was wrong, it's actually $17.91 there.

Xanathar is also down to $20.91 there as well.     Wish the Owl Bears were on sale there -  I'd buy more of those.

Snagged myself the cheaper Beholder & Displacer! Just need the brown Owlbear & Doric/Xenk, now.

@tenime Yeah I picked up Xanathar as well. At $20 he was just too good a deal to pass up. And minus a flight stand of some kind, he's pretty fantastic. Going to be a nice centerpiece for my ttrpg shelf.

Thanks for the tip, guys. I finally have a reason to use my Pulse membership lol

Xanathar for $20 makes a lot more sense than for $50. He's going to guard my little brass dice bowl alongside my goblin ML's.

@hopethisworks Like, honestly, having him now, I think $50 feels steep, but it's not *that* much relative to what you get. Xanathar is a CHUNKY hunk of plastic. He's the size of a cantaloupe even before you put on all his eyestalks. At $20 he's a steal and I'm glad I picked him up.

I think most of my reticence prior to the price drop was I didn't *need* him in my displays, so getting him was a "this would be cool if I have some extra cash". But once he dropped below a standard figure price then he's basically an impulse buy.
