Everytime a non-vintage figure like this comes out and gets a lukewarm reception I worry more and more if we will actually get the vintage line completed.
At this point, I'm just holding out for Two-Bad. I bought an extra Cartoon Collection version, so if that never pans out, I have a back up. I don't have any real interest in anyone else that was made in the original line.
Curious what shenanigans they'll get up to with the Club Grayskull membership thing.
Don't need anything but if I had the membership I'd be tempted by that She-Ra UNO deck.

I definitely don't need any more variants but I'd love to get Two Bad, Blast-Attak, Multi-Bot and Dragstor. I don't care at all about the Giants or Rotar and Twistoid.
If I don't get an Origins Multi-Bot there will be heck to pay.
Heck.
To.
Pay.
I don't think I want Multi-Bot because I don't love how unwieldy Modulok came out! The adapters really make him far less intuitive than the original. I loved that figure as a kid, but this one, I don't mind how he looks when complete, but I have no desire to mess around with other configurations. I don't know Multi-Bot either, he was after my time. Those cyborg members of the Horde all were after my time.
My two Targets each got between 6-10 Horde Concept 2pks. I'm gonna wait and see on this set, I don't know how quickly it'll move if at all.
So... I actually do like the Preternia era of the He-Man mythos and feel like it's still a somewhat underexplored space. That being said, He-Ro has never particularly been my favorite part of that. I prefer the barbarian King Greyskull angle to the protector sent from space-god backstory they gave him.
I did end up ordering the figure... though now I regret it. It was a "club members only" item for sale, so I felt like I had to, to justify the club membership.. but for $20, plus shipping, plus tax - it feels like a lot for a figure I only kind of, maybe want. Sigh.
Yeah with the club membership and shipping etc he's basically 40 bucks for a character I don't have much attachment with.
But isn't the club membership a one-time purchase? That should spread over any other members only figures (or whatever else the benefits of membership are).Yeah with the club membership and shipping etc he's basically 40 bucks for a character I don't have much attachment with.

For sure this is true... if there are indeed other benefits to membership. And the reality was I can't fairly include the $10 membership fee as part of the figure cost because I paid that blind not knowing what the benefits would be at all. Even so, I still have a tinge of buyers remorse on this He-Ro figure. C'est la vie

True enough. If you spread the 10.00 for the club membership across what sounded like 3 PoG figures (which I assume will be the club exclusives, and assuming you want all of them) he winds up more like 32 I guess.
Oh man, I don't generally collect this line, but that new 4-pack is pretty cool...
Yeah... I'm all about new stuff - and this 4 pack is fun. New designs - one for each faction. Love the two headed snake monster and the idea of the Horde Revenant being part of Hordak's Oathbreakers is a new wrinkle on the mythology that sounds like fun. I'm here for it - this is the stuff I love.
So Mattel is teasing the next Mattel Creations Origins release with a Club Greyskull "Tease" and indicating there will be an exclusive early order window for Club Greyskull members. The announcement was titled "Lurking in the Shadows" and the sub title says "An old foe's henchman is returning - In honor of our She-Ra: Princess of Power 40th Anniversary we're bringing a bumbling fool known for patrolling Etheria's skies to the Origins line".
At first when I read the Lurking the Shadows line I thought it could be Shadow Weaver since they showed her off at Toy Fair - and she's one one of Hordak's minions... but then the more detailed clue made it very obvious it was the Vultak figure we knew was coming. The also include pictures of his boots and wings.
So Vultak will go up for order next Monday for Club Greyskull members and probably next Wednesday or Thursday for non club members, I'm guessing.
