I finally got a "processing soon" e-mail from BBTS for Modulok. I'm excited to get this one. Just one more down in the vintage collection lineup.
Then Rio Blast should ship out before too long from Mattel Creations.
Walmart had a sale on a bunch of stuff yesterday, including some Origins figures. I managed to snag 2 Necro Condas for less than $18 each.
They had Cartoon Ram Man for $8! I didn't pull the trigger in time.Walmart had a sale on a bunch of stuff yesterday, including some Origins figures. I managed to snag 2 Necro Condas for less than $18 each.
Man... I'm SO grumpy I missed that WalMart sale. Sounds like there was tons of good stuff across a bunch of lines I collect but yesterday and today were the two days out of the month I had to be in the office at all day meetings so I had no idea these sales were happening.
My Masterverse Panthor shipped already today and as I was grumbling about my Rio Blast taking so long to ship I got the notice that he had shipped as well. Happy day.
Nice! Glad to hear both of those are shipping out. Hopefully I'll get e-mails soon too. Rio Blast is always such a fun figure. I have liked every figure of him that's ever been released. Rio Blast and Snout Spout are two odd ball characters I always enjoy.
I know at the time some folks didn't like some of those odd characters in the later MOTU Waves of the vintage line. But as a kid, I loved them. It never registered with me that maybe they "didn't fit" with the other characters.
And I have just always continued to love those two characters to this day.
@supercamel-1982 I honestly didn't know of the existence of Rio Blast, Clamp Champ, Extendar, or Dragstor when I was a kid. I'm not sure if by that point TMNT had come out because I got pretty heavy into that early on and dropped MOTU. I'm not sure when MOTU ended and TMNT began exactly and how much overlap there was but I just don't remember seeing those later MOTU figures in stores. I did have Snout Spout though and I think he was a later wave figure? I didn't have Randor or the Sorceress though and I know they came out in later waves.
My childhood collecting habits basically went MOTU ---> TMNT ---> Micro Machines ---> ToyBiz X-Men and then I decided I was too old for all of that until Marvel Legends and 200x MOTU started up.
So I've been messing more with Modulok, and he's less intuitive and more cumbersome than the original. I was just trying to reconfigure him into two distinct characters, but the parts layout gets confusing because of the insistence on keeping the shoulder connectors male from the arm. I think if they had given him ball sockets for his shoulders (ball peg from torso, socket in shoulder), you wouldn't need all those joint adapters. You'd sacrifice using his parts on other MotUO figures, but who's honestly gonna do that? Makes me miss the original format.
@normdapito he is definitely confusing. I miss the simplicity of the vintage one.
My Rio-Blast should be arriving today. After him, I think I only want/need Two-Bad for Origins.
Limiting my Cartoon collection as well, so I may be good with the Origins/Cartoon lines unless a few figures pop up I wasn't counting on. Scratch that, the Prototype Hordak/Grizzlor 2pk at Target is tempting to use as just more Horde members.
Toy Habits has some listing info for future product:
An unspecified 3-pack
Confirmation of Fright Zone release
Sketchbook series Spikor and Sy-Klone. Two separate listings though, so not a 2-pack probably?

I saw those few pics of the concept art for Sy-Klone and Spikor. The Spikor with a more pronounced pig snout is an interesting choice, but otherwise the look doesn't really do much for me and I don't know that it will look good as a figure. Sy-Klone looks better in the second pic which is closer to to what we got. The first pic is a mish-mash of colours and design that I don't care for really.
I got in Modulok from BBTS, and I really like this toy. It seems really big, and it's a lot of fun to mess around with. I honestly do hope they do a Filmation Modulok too, with the single head and purple chest armor from the POP cartoon.
The Horde Concept pack is scheduled to ship March 2nd from target.com
Thats less than 2 weeks from now. So, hopefully we'll be getting that soon for those of us who pre ordered there.
Got Modulok in from Amazon. Haven’t had a chance to open him up, but I’m liking the illustrations on the brown box.
Rio Blast arrived and he is pretty fun. Got him squared off against Modulok for now, since they are both new.
