So, with Rio Blast today, there are only 11 figures left that need made to finish the US vintage Masters of the Universe collection.

Blade
Saurod
Gwildor
Blast Attack
Dragstor
Hurricane Hordak
Stonedar
Two Bad
Multi Bot
Twistoid
Rotar

We are getting close.  But the way they let out a figure from the vintage collection once every couple of months, we may have 3 years to go to complete these characters in Origins LOL.

I don't even know if Origins will be around that long.  I'm sure they want to keep Origins and Masterverse around until 2026 when the MOTU movie comes out.  But if that isn't a success, I can't imagine Origins/Origins Cartoon and Masterverse do well enough to keep going after that.

@theknightdamien Yeah someone else mentioned they got completely different captcha pics that didn't match up (theme wise) with anything in the pics below it.   Sounds like someone was trying to be clever but surprise surprise the execution wasn't good.

I can, begrudgingly, accept the new pricing and exchange rate because that has been the traditional way things have gone.   However I hate that they are clearly not using the exchange rate, but rather their own exchange rate that is higher than the current one.   They have done that consistently for years now.   It's not like they are sitting there doing it themselves, it is just an algorithm, but clearly it has some padding to give them that little bit extra from Canadians.   At the current rate $20US should be a little over $28Cdn.   So they are getting an extra $3+Cdn from us.   Even being generous with the exchange rate they are still overcharging us by a couple dollars.

Yay,  Rio stayed available long enough for me to remember to order him.

I definitely got the screwed up captchas. I stared blankly at a bunch of lions and tigers while trying to figure out what they had to do with tennis balls before muttering "Mattel" under my breath like it was 2010 and MattyCollector was back.

@canprime  That might also just be whatever system Mattel is using. I've had the same problem with other stores where the website itself seems to decide what exchange rate it feels like using (always to the detriment of the Canadian dollar). I don't know if it still is, because Andrew can suck my ass, but the Boss Fight store used to be TERRIBLE for this. Prices on there were totally random and didn't even seem to have the -same- exchange rate from figure to figure, let alone the actual real life exchange rate.

And you're definitely kinder than I am about this. I don't accept the new pricing as just part of how things are going. No other action figure line that I collect has gone up 100%+ in price in two years. Despite how utterly shit the economy has been, I don't think -anything I buy- has gone up at the same rate as Origins figures. So unless Mattel can explain to me how they are uniquely and singularly affected by the current economy.... yeah.

In fact, looking at that list... I'm almost done. In terms of vintage figures I care about; Blade and Two-Bad are the final two that I actually want/need. I've said before that I would love Vikor, Masks of Power Demons, and some other odds and ends like New Adventures He-Man single-carded and NA Skeletor, the giants, and a few others. But in terms of stuff I'll be truly bummed out about not ever getting - only Blade and Two-Bad are left.

They kept it simple for me. I had to pick the sweet items. I picked three ice cream cones for three captchas in a row.

Same with me. Ice cream ice cream ice cream. This was a relatively painless order this time around.

Am I crazy or did I see Thundercats MOTU origins style crossovers announced today? I'm beginning to resent how easy a mark I am for Origins crossovers. I'm not a WWE guy but the turtles got me for a LOT of figures and Thundercats will too.

So, I got an e-mail alert from Target that the MOTU Origins Horde Concept set was in stock at Target.   Unfortunately by the time I saw the e-mail and clicked on it, it says the items are sold out.   So I don't know if they actually were in stock very briefly or not.

They were in stock earlier today, I saw them.  Didn't order one myself, but it was real!

Rio Blast may have been the last vintage MOTU figure I ("I" meaning "my mom") bought back in the day. He's still in really good shape.  Even with the new one's articulation, I don't know that I need him replaced.  Pulling out his guns is all I want him to do.
