Masters of the Universe Origins

@salemcrow that's so weird.  I'm assuming you bought them on the redcard?  I haven't had to approve a delay since I got mine.  Okay good to know that's still a thing!

And meanwhile I, without a Red card, received both the Vecna and 2-Bopsteady yesterday.

So I ordered the 40th anniversary 4pk of He-Man through the ages. Comes with a Filmation version (that isn't the same head sculpt as the Cartoon Collection He-Man, surprisingly), New Adventures He-Man, 200X He-Man, and Netflix He-Man. The packaging is awesome. The outer box is designed to look like a television set, with the lid having the tv screen, which is a window to some great artwork depicting all of the eras of source material. Each figure is packaged with a slip cover, and inside, is a collector friendly carded figure with a bubble that can slide off. I pulled each carded figure out of the slip cover, only to find that they included TWO 200X He-Man figures. The Netflix slip cover had another 200X in it instead. I guess I'll be contacting customer service about this.

Anyone buy Geldor today?  I got x2 of them myself.

Also, NORM. Did Mattel take care of that issue for you with the 40th Anniversary He-Man set?

@supercamel-1982 I also got two Geldors, and I have not heard back from Mattel yet! How rude! I filled out their contact form, but have gotten no receipt or reply.

Don't hold your breath.   I did the same for Extendar and never heard back from them.   I suggest just calling.

Didn't bother with Geldor today.   I kind of like the look, but I'm okay without him, and he is currently still in stock.  Also Demo Man didn't sell out until a number of hours later.   I think the line fatigue is setting in and they need to get to the remaining vintage characters that haven't been done in Origins yet.

I agree.  I think fatigue is setting in and they have got to at least finish and give us those remaining vintage line characters.  Hell, MOTU is my favorite property, and even I'm feeling a bit of fatigue with Origins and Masterverse.

Also, I got notice from BBTS that Necro Conda would not be shipping until later in December.  He was scheduled to release this month.  

Yeah I got that NecroConda news as well.   Boo.

Snagged a Skeletor and Screeech today at TRU for $25Cdn (clearance price).    Also fan channel etailers are putting up Modulok for preorder up here as well so no longer need to keep checking Amazon.ca.

Oh and Geldor is still available on Mattel Creations.   That has to be one of the longest lasting Origins exclusives in recent memory.   Demo Man lasted most of one day I think.

@supercamel-1982 I also ordered Modulok from BBTS but saw that EE is charging $2 less, and usually has coupons for 10% off that can be applied…

Also, I thought Modulok was Amazon exclusive?

Received Geldor already. Not much to report, didn’t realize he comes with two reuses axes as well as his signature axe and a shield. They extras are reuses from He-Man and Ram Man.

I ordered Modulok. I’m not all in on origins, but that was one of my favorite toys when I was a kid

I've ignored this thread for a while as I see it pop up occasionally with new posts and it occurred to me today, while again not really interested in opening it, how Mattel has managed to so thoroughly murder my enthusiasm for this line.

I still love what I own. There's still figures I want, if Mattel can ever be bothered with it. But the excitement I once felt to collect them and talk about them is gone. Not because the line is winding down and there's not as much to buy, but because of how incredibly disrespected I feel as a customer by Mattel. We've gone on about it before - the drip-feed, expecting Int. folks to buy every figure one-at-a-time with shipping on each one. Not to mention just fucking REFUSING to make the rest of the vintage toy figures. I don't really love the hyperbole of saying you feel disrespected by a company, but in this case I actually do. It -literally- feels like someone at Mattel is very intentionally being a prick about this. You will never convince me, ever ever, that getting Geldor and Demo-Man out there was THE priority when we still don't have Rio Blast.

Meh.

@theknightdamien I agree.  The screw up with Extendar (never got it even with the restock), and the way they drip feed the exclusives (as you said) have really killed my desire to keep on, keeping on with Origins.  

I still love the line, but I skipped Demo Man and Geldor which a year, or two, ago would have been unimaginable.   I was happy to pick up even one exclusive when it dropped, sometimes more to easy the shipping pain.   Now I'm just waiting it out for a couple of (sort of) "must haves" and that will be it.  I'm happy that Modulok was made more widely available.

Also as Canadians it really did hurt interest when Mattel seemingly stopped getting product into regular retail up here.  Don't know what the reason was for that, but not seeing anything on the shelves outside of the odd item here and there means more "out of sight, out of mind."

Though I am happy I was able to snag a Skeletor/Skreeech 2-pack at TRU on clearance for $25.
