I want both packs more for the recolors of Skeletor and He-Man. I don't want the Demogorgon or Vecna.
I don't care about Stranger Things at all and I don't watch it, I just happened to like the look of the figures.
@cmoney I love Stranger Things, but find this to be a weird mash up. I know ST takes place in the '80s, but that's the only real connection between the properties. Playmates also did a ST crossover set of figures with TMNT. It doesn't make sense to me. The buff MotU bodies don't make any sense for these particular ST characters.
I understand how it would look to an ST fan, but since I don't care about them as characters, I just like the look as creatures to add to my Turtles of Grayskull shelf. I don't actually collect Origins other than ToG and now these, but I won't mind having a regular He-Man and Skeletor to represent the property on top of it.
@cmoney if it's worth setting up a Target Debit Redcard for you, you can preorder and not deal with the approval delays. I set mine up to it's own checking account so I don't have to worry about it. There's other benefits too like 5% off and free shipping but I understand why someone wouldn't want to set it up.
Geldor will be the figure on Mattel Creations on November 12th. Cool figure and I will get him. But once again, Mattel is not releasing a character from the Vintage Collection. They are taking forever to release these final characters from the vintage MOTU line.
I'm honestly getting sick of waiting, and I'm sick of just getting one character from the vintage line at a time. I want these figures secured and done.
And don't get me wrong, I like getting these odd unique characters. But with the Cartoon figures being all that's at retail, it really blows just getting one non-Cartoon figure here and there, and it blows even more that like every 3rd one of those in a year is a character needed to finish the vintage line.
LOL. I think I complain about this every time a non-vintage character goes up for sale on Mattel Creations. I'll stop now 🙂
Oh neat, I hadn't heard anything about Geldor. He's a character I never had (I skipped from the actual original He-Man to Origins and didn't do any Classics in between) so I kinda dig getting random new characters.
Are the ST two-packs hard to find? There's always a few of the Skeletor / Demogorgon set in stock at my local target and I always ALMOST buy it. I like the grayed out, washed out look of the Skeletor. Though I'm irritable about ST mashups - I happily picked up the ST / TMNT mashups but they left so many core ST characters unmade it bugged me (even though the Turtles were a nice scale). If we saw the kind of wacky creative investment in this mashup as we see in Turtles of Grayskull (which is WILDLY fulfilling so far!) I'd be an easy sell for them.
@supercamel-1982 Yeah it is getting annoying, and expensive. This drip, drip, drip of figures is a crap way to get us what we need to finish Origins. Especially with that built in expense of paying for shipping each time.
It's worse for me because here in Canada we aren't getting the Cartoon collection outside of some on Amazon. Outside of that it is only through online toy retailers, which is great to have options, but pricing isn't all that great, and that is with the markup already baked in of the exchange rate, etc. Most standard Origins/Cartoon Collection figures are now almost $30Cdn before tax. Which particularly stings considering when Origins started they wereon par with pricing in the US ($15Cdn).
Hopefully we see more of the remaining original figures sooner rather than later.
Also I wonder what will happen with the Snake Lair?? Think they might just quietly abandon it and we never hear of it again?
I think we will get the Snake Lair offered still, but it will look a lot more like the original concept art we saw, which would also make it a smaller playset thus a more affordable price.
I think all that feedback at SDCC and all the feedback from the little survey Mattel did let them know that people didn't want something quite that big again after Eternia, they didn't want to have to shell out the same money again as they did for Eternia, and that most folks really wanted the Snake Lair playset to look like the concept art they voted on that won the playset fan vote.
So, I do believe we'll see it again.
Currently doing the "approve delays" dance with Target over the newest Stranger Things crossover two-pack. I think it's been about three rounds now. Expecting it to be canceled any day now, and then readily available on the site shortly thereafter. Oh well.
Rest easy, all. Shipped today.
Pixel Dan's review of Modulok
I'm really surprised how big Modulok is. Especially the fact he is bigger than the MOTU Classics version. But I gotta have this. It's one of the final characters needed from the vintage toy line.

The Skeletor/Demogorgon one is on sale for $17.50 right now on Target's site.
I just ordered the He-Man through the ages 4pk from Mattel Creations. They've got it, and some Masterverse exclusives (Mainframe, Vykor, Evil Lyn) on sale for 40% off. That brought each individual He-Man down to about 22.50, which isn't much more than average Origins figures these days. I don't know how much stock they have, so if you're interested, the price is not bad.

I have a Red debit card and I still had to approve the delay on the Rocksteady/Bebop/Two Bad mashup.
