@canprime I'm at a similar point of 'just about done with this.' I really wanted Slush-head, but there's no way I can justify him being 55 fucking dollars. Besides that, it's so hard to even find these here - sometimes impossible. So I'm making decisions now about which characters I'm willing to pay full price, plus shipping, plus exchange rate to get. And Lo! There's few. Very few.
Same is true of Origins. I've already backed out of 'completing' the Cartoon Collection because they're not available in Canada and I'm not really keen on paying around 25 bucks plus shipping per figure. They're not worth that. So I'll get a couple of my favorites from the cartoon and call it done. And knowing basically every figure I'll want going forward is going to be a goddamn Matty Collector.. ooops.. Mattel Creations.. exclusive? I think there's maybe 3 or 4 figures I'm willing to pay those kinds of prices for and then I'm done.
Specifically in terms of Masterverse - I think the newest figures I own currently are Two-Bad and NA He-Man. I've got movie Lyn in my POL, and the new Tri-Klops and BA He-Man on pre-order. I'd LIKE to get NA Skeletor and Slush-head, but with the forums not having PMs anymore trading/buying here is more complicated so I missed the sweet Skeletor sales at Target, and like I said - Mattel can fuck off with their 55-dollar Slush-head.
And that's it. Of everything announced or that has come out since Two-Bad/NA He-Man. This line killed a ton of my overall MOTU enthusiasm.
I’ve seen Slush Head still on clearance but the new clearance price is $23.09. Not as good as the $9.89 price a few weeks back.
Mattel’s distribution has always been crap for me dating back to the DCUC days. I’m lucky to see Masterverse in my Targets as my Walmarts don’t seem to carry them. I never saw the Faker wave at retail. Had to order my set on Amazon. Then while at some random DDs yesterday, I spotted Faker, Buzz Off, Grizzlor, and classic Merman for $3.99 each. I’m just stumped how that line made it all the way to a discount store and I never saw a trace of it around me previously. And you damn right I picked them up again at that price. Lol. Some of my Ross’s still have Stridor for $5.99 too.
But yeah for the most part I don’t look for Masterverse at retail either. Like almost everything I collect, I have to go online.
I’m assuming DDs is like Ross or Ollie’s? Another discount store that isn’t in NJ…
I think it’s owned by the same owners as Ross but just under a different name. The price tags they stick on their items have the same style as the ones in Ross.
The last time I hunted anything in DDs was during the Toybiz Marvel Legends era. They would get hard to find ML variants for discount prices back in the day. Like the War machine/red variant Mandarin two pack and such.
I wish we had an Ollie’s on the west coast though
@leor if you are willing to nab a Faker to sell to me for $25 shipped, I'd sure appreciate it. Sorry to clog the forums with this but I can't send DMs in the new forum. I'd be interested in that whole wave for good price but primarily looking for Faker. Sounds like you bought them for yourself but it can't hurt to ask!
I’ll keep an eye out. I don’t think it’s gonna cost $25 shipped if I find them. I’m assuming your in the US so it should be like $15 for one figure shipped I would imagine. $3.99 plus whatever shipping is. $10?
I'm just hoping for some more Princess of Power figures.
@supercamel-1982 All great choices. My most wanted is Castaspella though, I always found her look to be one of the more eye-catching and dynamic. I like how MotUC handled her color scheme.

After finally getting the Filmation colored PoP girls in MOTUC I'd really love to see some of the toy designs in Masterverse.
@normdapito I really like Castaspella as well. The POP girls all have such unique attires and colors that pop, it's hard to pick a favorite. In Classics I always felt Castaspella, Entrapta, Perfuma, and Sweet Bee were among some of my absolute favorites.
But like Justice said, I also wouldn't mind seeing the POP characters done in their 80's toy line styles either.
I’ve never been big into Masters of the Universe, but I’ve dabbled at a very surface level in Classics and this current line. I own 5 Masterverse figures, all but one of which I bought at discount: Series 1 He-Man, Battle Cat, Stinkor, New Eternia Skelator, and Clawful. I also bought Sun Man as a gift. All of them are excellent figures for the price. I’m surprised this line doesn’t have more discussion- it seems better than the Classics line (though I only owned 5 figures in that line too). The newer figures especially seem pretty great. Are MOTU fans not into this for some reason I’m not seeing?
Does anyone think they’ll make a Battle Blade Skelator figure? It’s so out of left field, but I really like the design.
be careful saying it’s better than Classics lol those are fighting words to some (though I think it’s better than classics too, and certainly cheaper and better to collect)
I was not that impressed with the Revelations cartoon. The cliffhanger left me indifferent. I can’t say I hated it. Just not as excited as I wanted to be. That said that new trailer for the next season has somewhat piqued my interest. If anything the toys are gonna be awesome which is the very thing that has kept me collecting this line. Can’t wait for more Horde!! That background music made me half expect HeMan to crane kick Skeletor. Wait, crane kick? Cobra? Snakes? Snake Men? Was that a hint?
Random question: can Masterverse figures hold Classics weapons? I'm eyeing a MOTU Classics Man At Arms pistol and sword for my Masterverse New Eternia Man At Arms.
It seems like Classics have a slightly tighter grip than Masterverse based on pictures I've seen.
That new trailer was epic! Hopefully we get those final battle (at least that's what I'm presuming) versions of He-Man and Skeletor sooner rather than later.
