Now that you mention it, I do recall there being more Whiplash-guys and Clawful-people in the 200X show.  Possibly Webstor too, but it's not clear in my mind.  Along with the bird and bee people.  Moss Man I wouldn't mind if he could do "drone/soldier" bodies like Swamp Thing, but I do agree that he seems more singular.  Thinking about it, I also remember Stinkor being mutated to his form in the 200X show as well, but again, I don't mind straying outside of "lore" if it makes a cool figure!

I mean... if you subscribe to the MOTU Classics bio-lore then Beast Man and Mer Man are definitely representatives of their respective races and not unique specimens.

The mini comics in Classics introduced He-Ro and  King Grayskull ally - Beast Lord as a member of the same race as Beast Man.    I was lucky enough to get a Beast Lord head from a 3rd party seller and have him on my shelf.

And even the original MOTU cartoon shows other members of Mer Man's species, right?  And certainly subsequent iterations of the property showed other members of his race

Likewise - Stratos and Buzz Off have always been representatives of their respective races - He-Man has visited their homes and met their people.   We've seen Stratos'  wife, brother and others.

We've met the queen of the Areenids.

The classics lore talks of Carnivus as the Chief of his group of cat people.

Pretty much all of those can be assumed to not be entirely unique.     It's part of why I've spent years amassing a backlog of Classics custom fodder - so I can make other representatives of Beast Man's people, other Mer-folk, other Adreenids, orther of Webstor's kind...   it's fun.

But I certainly wouldn't balk at having Hasbro dip their toes in those waters.   They did it with the snake men, in Origins with the generic 2-pack and all of the new snake people.   Take the same chance in other areas.

Generic characters sold as army builders are my jam in every figure line and should always be a thing!

I really, really want Skeleton Warrior army builders in Masterverse, using a skeletal body that could also be used for a New Eternia Scare-Glow along the lines of the most recent Mondo release. Also Snake Men rank-and-file warriors, when they finally get around to Snake Men.

I knew there were at least mer-adjacent generics somewhere, and I know we've seen images of a few others (Stratos has always had a community IIRC). I do like the idea that it's a mix of other species like Stratos and Beast Man and then some absolute body horror one of a kind mutants since MOTU is stealthily one of the most hilariously body horror centric toy lines ever. (Can you imagine the cybernetic tomfoolery that went into Mekaneck? That poor man). But I don't have any head canon strong enough aside from the few that we've pointed out there's art for that I'd be averse to any particular character being unique or a species representative.

Also, adding Carnivus to someone I want in Masterverse and Origins. I forgot all about him!

For me -  most of He-Man's non-human allies tend to be representatives of their people sent to help protect Eternia, and this is pretty much backed up in either the Filmation cartoon, the mini comics and then certainly in the MVC cartoon.

For Skeletor's minions - for sure there is on-screen representation of Whiplash's folk.  I believe there ay be some filmation evidence of other crab folk like Clawful and Mer-Man as described before.   But like Two-Bad is two dudes from different alien races fused together.    Trapjaw was a normalish dude from a pirate crew before he lost some body parts and got reassembled as the freak  he is now.   And I think Webstor's origin story suggests that there USED to be underground Spider-people but that he is now the last one...

And with the Horde troopers it is very much a thing that many of Hordak's crazy goons are some of the last members of their races who joined up with the Horde as the Horde destroyed their home planet and decimated the population -  so most of those freaks are indeed, one of a kind.

With the Snake People -  well King Hsss has the ability to turn normal people into Snake people, so he can always make more whereever he goes so it makes sense that there's lots and lots of them.     I would be stoked if Masterverse eventually starts delivering on a whole bunch of snakes.

New eternia Beastman looks very good, i like the new design. Roboto looks updated, they usually give him a super minimal look but this one has some details on his arms. Ill pass on randor, doesnt do nothing for me.

I definitely pre ordered all 3 of the new Masterverse figures (as well as the 3 new Cartoon Origins figures).  But I thought I was going to be most excited about Randor.  Turns out, I'm really liking that Roboto.  He's kind of perfect.

I do really like Randor, and I definitely like the look of him with the more traditional crown the most.  I'd say the Beast Man figure is my least favorite, even though it's a great looking figure.  Mattel really kills it with these Masterverse figures.  They are always such cool designs and fun figures.

Hopefully Skelcon ships soon from BBTS.  It's been a little while since they sent out e-mails saying it would process soon.

I already have a Skelcon from EE, but I've been waiting for BBTS to fulfill Skelcon so I can open them together. But I've also considered using him as a unique character rather than a troop builder. Either way, I'm in that same boat. Waiting a while after getting the initial processing email. Holidays must have spanked BBTS.

I saw that Masterverse Zodac had dipped below $13 on Amazon on decided it was time to amass the fodder to begin my project to build my council of Cosmic Enforcers

So I have a handful on the way.

@panthercult

I thought a couple of these would look good flanking Zodac:

Yeah... the helmet, armor, etc for sure.   Not convinced I love the bare arms and fur trunks for a space ranger -  but I guess that's what Zodac has so...

I thought I was so smart getting a Revelations He-Man for $9 and also using the Savage He-Man that I didn't need to display all three armors for Vykor ... totally forgot Savage He-Man is barefoot, and the whole point was to use him for the space guy cuz the whole head swaps out for that look.  Oh well!

Just got the Vintage Skeletor- never managed to pickup the 80th anniversary set, but have put him next to the New Eternia Skeletor and next to Evil Lyn.

Works well on the throne set

And some pics of the Skelcon with the throne

@dave-o

Where did you get Vintage Masterverse Skeletor from?

I have mine pre ordered at Wal-Mart, where it's exclusive to here in the US (for now).  But it's still scheduled to ship in March.

The figure looks great by the way.  Thanks for sharing the pics.
