@akatsuki I can't get over how good he looks, either.  He's sexy!  While still having his goofy charm.  My major dislike of this toyline is generally how sparse the paint apps can be and he breaks that mold by being fantastically-painted.  The cherry on top on my copy is how sturdy his plastic is, how tight the joints are without being too tight.  He's up there with New Adventures Skeletor as top figures in build quality in my Masterverse collection.  I actually think NE Merman is my favorite Masterverse figure.

New Eternia Mer-Man is definitely a contestant for best Masterverse figure ever.  It's a perfect figure.  it just looks incredible.  At this point, I think the Masterverse figures I like the most, have all been NE figures.  Faker, Webstor, and Mer-Man.

Just beautiful looking figures that may very well be the best figures of each of those characters over ALL MOTU lines throughout the years.

I kinda have separate collections within the Masterverse collection. There's the Revelation/Revolution stuff. Even though I didn't watch either, I know which ones are directly from the shows, and they are separated from the main Masterverse collection.

For me, Masterverse is the main collection, the figures that started from the beginning of the line, retaining more of the original design elements, but with the "Masterverse" additions like alternate armor. That's my more complete collection, that has more of the original characters.

Then there's my New Eternia collection, which gathers some of the best redos like MAA, Fisto, Tri Klops, Merman, Trap Jaw, and sets them with some of the Masterverse figures without the alternate armor add ons like Clawful, Whiplash, Beast Man.

I'm not entirely sure why I do this, I guess to justify buying redos of characters, but not necessarily replacing them in the "main" collection. Unfortunately, I still can't even display any of these for lack of space.

Since we seem to have been abandoned by Mattel at regular retail in Canada I can only speak from the pics I have seen.   Overall I like it and think it works for Hordak as a sort of alternate look or non-battle/ceremonial look.

That said I have the POP cartoon look version of Hordak, and now a couple of Horde Troopers to go with him so that is still my preference.

To me, it's less Hordak if he doesn't have that shell/hood thing behind his head. Like when they show Serpentor without his cobra hood, it just doesn't look right. That said, the head on the Revolution Hordak is really nice, and painted way better than the previous Masterverse Hordak. But yeah, like canprime said, he works as a ceremonial Hordak (I don't know the context as I haven't watched the series).

I'm a heavy NAY on this.   I honestly hate the design and it is so far one of the only Masterverse figures I have refused to buy.     The head looks so tiny -  made worse by the massive shoulder pads and cowl .      I like the deluxe Hordak so much better and just really don't like this version at all.

I'm not into long plastic/rubber robes that block legs like this...he's more of an inaction figure.  I also don't find his colors to vibe with my Skeletor collection which is really the highlight of my villains shelf.  IMO both Hordaks in this line have been kinda boring, would love to see a NE Hordak like I'm sure many others in this thread.

Would you say he is a "Staction" figure?  😆   Sorry couldn't resist.

I could go for a NE Hordak in the more traditional black and grey colour scheme with whatever changes they make to better fit the NE aesthetic.   However I don't know that I would go in for him if they went too far off the original look.

Some good sales on Mattel Creation for this line. I didn't realize I never got Clamp Champ, and on impulse I picked up an extra Dark-Lyn to customize since she's down to 17 bucks and some change (some of her armor pieces were a lil wonky and I want to see if I can't improve them).

@aceofknaves Thats cool.  I'm surprised no one else has put the Skelcons or that Cartoon Origins Wave up for pre order then, if EE is already shipping them out.

Hell, even EE themselves don't have any of that on their own site still, and they're shipping the stuff out.

Yup, Skelcons arrived. They are awesome and super-creepy: very The Dark Crystal meets The Black Cauldron with muscles. There are small humanlike skulls sculpted into their tongues. I love it.

Single-pack Skelcons are up for order on both EE and BBTS now.
