Trying to see what is different about the Roboto but can't get a good pic to see.

That Panthor will be mine!!!!!   Need it to go against He-Man and Battle Cat.

Then they can give us Clawdeen.  Let’s get som mileage out of those cat bodies.

So, movie wise we have He-Man, Skeletor, Beast Man, Evil Lyn, and Blade is coming.  So, I'm hopeful we get God Skeletor, Man At Arms, Teela, Saurod, Karg, Skeletors Troop, and Gwildor.

Thats just 7 figures.  I wish and hope they can do that at least.

But man, the Masterverse reveals were excellent! And I'm so happy they showed what they did.  I was honestly kind of worried they may say they were stopping Masterverse.  Instead, they just showed a ton of awesome s***!

I love Fisto and Roboto.  And that New Eternia Evil Lyn is honestly perfect.  The New Eternia figures are my favorite thing about Masterverse.

@detectivehoag I wouldn't be surprised to see a Dupli-Cat either.

I'm also glad that most of the Masterverse reveals don't move me.  The movie stuff is great but not something I am collecting.   Fisto, Roboto and Evil-Lyn all fall into the "not different enough to get me to buy" category.

Fisto's whole arm being armored is such a turn off.  If they wanted to make his fist a little more enhanced, they could have had some bits come up and maybe brace his metal fist/forearm midway up the bicep.  Like his fist needs support due to the weight.  But armoring his whole arm?  Kinda just turns him into Strongarm.

@ashtalon I was thinking maybe his fist could have had some kind of tech that could be opened and closed (a screen, or blaster?).  Something to add to the fist's functionality rather than just extending it up his arm.

Picked up my seventh Masterverse figure the other day- Thunder punch He-man. I am thoroughly impressed with this figure. I bought the Revelation He-man a couple years ago. Although I did think it was great for the $12 I paid, I was disappointed in the face/ tiny head and the feel of the figure. This new He-man fixes those concerns. It’s got a classic looking angry barbarian type head that’s appropriately large. Also this new figure has a different larger torso. The skin has depth due to the paint wash on the figure. Most importantly to me though is the joints feel smooth. Most of my other Masterverse figures feel like the hips and shoulders are sort of fighting me when I try to pose the figures. Thunderpunch doesnt. I think part of it is that Mattel used a softer plastic for the loincloth on this one (at least compared to my other He-man, Stinkor, and Clawful).

I am not a big MOTU fan and therefore haven’t bought many of the figures the last few years. When did they start feeling so great in hand? This is really tempting me to buy more of the New Eternia reveals (maybe Merman next) to go next to my mythic and cosmic legions on the shelf.

@supreme_d  I think the 'joints are fighting me' issue you're describing is actually a problem with the hip construction on the early figures. Similar to the problem Articulated Icons figures had where there was too much grip on the hip ball, so the joint itself was twisting because the socket couldn't properly rotate on the ball. They definitely fixed that (in Masterverse) with later figures and I don't think it's been an issue since the first couple of waves, unless I'm mistaken.

I got movie Beast Man today and I continue to be absolutely in love with the movie figures. It's so interesting to be able to see the designs (or something very close) in hand where you can really examine them. Beast Man is simultaneously fantastic and a little disappointing. I can't tell if any of the underlying body is re-used from a previous Beast Man, but he feels skinny/lanky, whereas movie Beast Man really should have at least a little bit of bulk on him. More Krrsantan than Chewie, for you SW fans. I wouldn't call this figure a total miss - but certainly not what it could have been. Also feels like a mistake to not include the blaster he actually uses in the film.

But the figure overall looks pretty great. His sword, the one accessory he actually comes with, is really cool. And overall it's just so awesome to be getting these 'first time ever in action figure form' designs from 1987. That's crazy to me and I cannot wait for Blade to come out. My only real complaint is the movie figures are coming out slow enough that I'm concerned we won't get to them all. There's really not that big of a cast to get through, but at this pace I don't know...

@theknightdamien that tracks about the hips. The last Masterverse figure I bought was New Adventures Skeletor and it was also a little bit smoother than my New Eternia Skeletor felt.

I was just reorganizing and noticed they've done a great job getting better at those hip joints. My first He-Man I had to put shock oil into his hips to get him to move, but the newer ones are much better.

New hips are also drop hips. From about the Prince Adam wave forward.

Havoc Throne is amazing. My new default display Skeletor now, too (still want the 40th one). Sy-Klone, Mekanek, and Leech are all awesome.

Mondo's gonna hafta be cheaper than is being estimated if they want to replace this line for me.

Gotta be honest: I've been consuming some MotU media for the first time the last couple weeks (DC comics, Revelation/Revolution, 200x, Netflix CG, to various degrees) and quite enjoying it, and ... I kinda wish they'd do more of the Netflix CG show in Masterverse.  I think a lot of the redesigns are fun and unique and would like to see them continue to slot them in once in a while.

So as I bop around picking up some of these figures here and there, it's always interesting to see which ones go for stupid money on the secondary market.  Take New Adventures He-Man, for example.  I didn't think that show was all that fondly remembered, but I routinely see folks wanting $100 for this one, and that's even IF you can find one being offered in the first place.  What's the deal there?  Under-produced or what?  Webstor too, though there are always a few of those floating around, also for the $90-$100 asking price.  Stratos, Buzz-Off, and Faker I'd put in the next tier down: figures people seem to want, but the pricing is in a more moderate mark-up than those others and basically everything else I've been able to score at decent cost.

If anyone is looking for them, Target now has Wave 13 (Leech, Revolution Hordak, New Eternia Thunder-Punch He-Man, and New Eternia Sy-Klone) in stock.  I was, and had some Circle benefits to use as well. 🙂

EDIT: Jeez, I guess not anymore, except He-Man.  Wow.

I don't disagree, but also it's never going to happen. They tried those designs in the limited-articulation line for kids and it bombed incredibly hard. Kids, the target demo for that cartoon, don't care. And despite it actually being a great cartoon, I don't think there's enough adult MOTU fans out there that want those looks. If anything, maybe they'd be a better fit in Origins because it tones down some of the crazy proportions adults tend not to like, and brings the price point down a little lower for those with only a passing interest in those looks.
