I'm glad to have been on board with this line from the ground floor. With Classics, I caught on late (around when the DC/MotU 2pcks were hitting, because that made them available at retail). Then I backtracked on a bunch, some of which had already appreciated in price. I'm glad I was able to pick up what I could, but the blowout sales on Matty Collector and Big Lots got me to buy a ton of stuff I didn't originally intend to.
I've collected probably 95% of Masterverse and I have no regrets, even with the figures that eventually were rendered obsolete by better versions. I will continue to buy them for as long as they plan to make them. I think they're the best MotU figures available.
I agree NORM. They are definitely great figures, and I will stick with them until the end. And honestly, the Masterverse line has produced some of my absolute favorite figures ever of certain characters. Such as New Eternia Faker and Webstor.
I'm glad I have collected this line from the start as well. Because initially I thought I would try and skip it just because I had a complete MOTU Classics collection. I thought why buy another 1:12 scale MOTU collection, especially when MOTU Classics is such a large, definitive collection.
But as always, it was MOTU and there was no way I could pass up. And I'm glad I didn't.
I originally was going to skip Masterverse and Origins because I was salty with Mattel over putting a halt to Super 7's MOTUC continuation but now I'm very glad I didn't. I love having as many different versions of each MOTU character as I can and love occasionally pulling every figure I have of one character and doing a big "comparison time" to see that character's progression over the years. Some of them now have a ridiculous amount of figures to do that with.
I'll have to check my Ram Man's condition. He's not on display right now, but I wasn't crazy about the rubbery parts when he first arrived in terms of durability. But yeah, otherwise this line is built TOUGH. They can take a beating and keep on fighting, most of them. I love figures I don't have to panic about falling over on the shelf and chipping off paint (side-eyes my beloved Mythic Legions collection)
The new Wave should go up for pre order before too long. New Eternia Mer-Man and Battle Armor Skeletor, and Revolutions Green Goddess Teela and White Armor Man At Arms.
There are actually some pics up different places of Green Goddess and MAA. I think I will get Green Goddess and the New Eternia figures, but I don't feel I need a white armor MAA.
Oh man... whiter amror Man at Arms is the one I'm looking forward to the Most because its the most different from what's already been made before. I already have good versions of Mer Man and Battle Armor Skeletor - I don't have anything that looks like this Man at Arms in white.
I'm sure I'll end up ordering all 4 - but white armor MAA is what i'm most excited about.
White armor MAA is an interesting concept, but I'm not really sold with the execution of the figure. I suppose it's fine and not really sure why it doesn't grab me more. I do like the masked look better. Wish he has some alternate parts to make him symmetrical and potentially troop builder-y. I do like the name "Man-o-war" for him, though.
I don't care about Sorceress Teela. BA Skeletor looks cool but I don't feel a need for him. NE Merman is fine but not really an upgrade from the last Merman. May end up skipping the entire wave. Do we know who's in the wave after this one?
Seeing that you can cover MAA face with that face plate and visor, now I may very well get him and use him as like a Kings Royal Guard. Since Eternian Palace Guards wear pretty much regular MAA armor, having this white armor could be fun to use as a Royal Guard.
It is very different.
Damn it PantherCult, I think you talked me into buying this.
@detectivehoag Where abouts in Arizona? 🤣
Hawke would be a great addition and of course Granamyr is a perennial fan favourite request.
@detectivehoag would you consider a swap for a nice submarine with two beautiful screen doors?
I think Hawke is coming to the Origins Cartoon line. She's on the artwork on the back of Stratos' card. I an also see Lizardman, Plundor and even Granamyr coming to that line, if it continues to do well. But not Masterverse.
