@tenime

I have not encountered this.  But now I'm afraid.  But mine don't seem to be disintegrating.

I wonder what's up with that.  I know you are a collector like all of us here, so I'm sure you had your figure stored or displayed in a good environment.  temperature controlled and all.

Thats crazy.

There don't appear to be any issues with mine but I couldn't take him off the shelf without moving a bunch of stuff so I didn't do a full inspection.

Yep, my Ram Man’s rubber leggings are absolutely splitting at several points.

I'll be interested to see the Mattel booth in San Diego this year and see how much new Masterverse is on display.

It feels like we got barely a handful of Masterverse figures this year, so far.   I might be misremembering the timeline but has it only been the Snout Spout Mattel exclusive and the four figure wave with Sy-Klone and Hordak?

Four figures that Amazon still hasn't shipped to me and says are due in July.     That's not a lot of product - so it will be interesting to see how well represented the line is in their con display.

They did show off a Horde Trooper that was supposed to drop as a deluxe but has never actually been put up for sale.    I'm wondering if they walked it back since the Deluxe figures in this line have performed so poorly or if they're holding it as a con exclusive or store exclusive.

Anyway -  I'm curious to see how much Masterverse Mattel has to share in San Diego to get an idea of how much more we can expect.

@panthercult I think the Mekaneck and Tri-Klops wave was this year too. Maybe one more.

I have to think the Masterverse line will end before too long.  They don't let as much out, they don't seem to sell that well at retail, and when they put special Masterverse items up on Mattel Creations, they don't sell out the way Origins does.  Some still haven't sold out.

I hate to hear this about Ram Man.  But I have wondered about the quality of a few Masterverse figures over the years.

It will be interesting to see what happens at SDCC.

I know we still have the Wave coming to pre order at some point with New Eternia Battle Armor Skeletor and Mer-Man, as well as the Mattel Creations Horde Trooper.  Beyond that there is nothing as of now.

I have to say that Ram Man is a major outlier in terms of QC. All my other Masterverse figures are sturdy and feel like you could throw them across the room with force and they would be unharmed. The more unique stuff they release in this line, the more I love it. I hope it lasts a while longer, at least until we can get several more New Eternia versions of mainstays like Scare Glow, Teela, Dragon Blaster and Terror Claws Skeletor AND Laser-Light . . . oh and minicomics-style Trap-Jaw! I could list dozens of New Eternia updates I’d like to see.

See,  I'm that weirdo that was really hoping Masterverse would steer into the new characters lane that Origins has dabbled in with the likes of Lady Slither, Reptilax and NecroConda...  maybe veer into some of those Axel Jimenez designs like Red Shadow, Gladiator and Hans Hammerholder   -   just tread ANY new ground instead of exclusively revisiting characters that have been done again and again and again in different styles.

Just a little something to confirm the line as something new and not just an update of what existed before.

I know I'm probably on a lonely island with that but the inclusion of Sun Man and Pig Head in Masterverse made me very happy.    The fact that Sun Man can still be purchased for $13 at various outlets proves I was one of a very small few who felt that way and ensured none of his Rulers of the Sun buddies found their way into the line... but I wouldn't mind some new direction to complement the classics.

I bought a backup Ram man when he was on sale for ten dollars for just that reason. Cool idea in theory but it felt iffy.

Oh I agree with this 100%!! I want new characters badly, and to see some characters done in Classics get redone on more diverse bodies. Like Hunga the Harpy has *never* been done, and imagine Evil Seed, Batros, Lord Masque and Shokoti done New Eternia style, and stuff like the Masks of Power demons . . . I’d love it.

I can attest to this.  Two-Bad fell off my shelf yet again, this time in the middle of a rough night, taking four other figures with him.  He was punished by being chucked as hard as I could across the room at the wall.  Not my finest moment but he was fine in the morning.  Still haven't found the accessories for the figures he knocked off, so he's still on my S-list.

Masterverse has already had a couple of waves this year.

New Eternia Mekaneck and Triclops wave.
New Eternia Sy-Klone and Leech wave.
New Eternia Merman and Battle Armor Skeletor wave (upcoming).
Creations exclusive Snout Spout.

Three waves in a year isn't terrible.  Granted, the last wave hasn't gone up for order yet, but with the Leech wave hitting, I think it'll go up soon and arrive in the fall.   We still have the Crimson Horde Trooper (can't remember if it's a Creations release or other retailer).   I don't think the line is ending.  There's probably just a reality of how many waves retailers and customers will support in a year.  Granted, my local Targets are still sitting on Jitsus.  But as long as the line continues to be available online and reaches sales numbers high enough for Mattel to continue making them, I fine with only a few waves a year.

I suppose I forgot about the Mekanek wave because I literally only ordered Mekanek.    I didn't order the other three because Mattel had already got me to buy Masterverse versions of those characters and I didn't feel like buying them again.   I acknowledge that they are objectively better than the original figures released in Masterverse, but  I've got my classics versions which work too.

And the Mer-Man and BA Skeletor is just a two figure "wave" of "deluxe" releases right?    Maybe not,  but if they are labeled Deluxe it honestly seems a bit like a scam to raise the price, really.   There doesn't seem to be much extra included.

I believe the Crimson Horde Trooper is Origins and the deluxe Horde Trooper is Masterverse.

Sounds like a good bit of product.  Being in Canada the only way to have access to any of this product currently is through Mattel Creations or Canadian online retailers (DJC Collectibles, Toysnowman, etc.)  So I have really fallen off on MOTU in general.

I imagine the line will peter out eventually, but hopefully Mattel can keep it at least online exclusive until whatever film gets made (if one ever gets made).

Yeah I'm honestly surprised there have been so many redo's already when there are still many characters that haven't been touched yet.
