The creature head inside is an interesting twist. That could prove useful down the line for customs or whatever. Also, it seems to closely resemble the generic warriors featured on the promo art used for the line. That's a nice touch. I wonder if we'll see a release of the non-armored orc type warrior eventually.
I wonder why he has removable limbs?
Is it just me or does the figure in the first pic look kind of "squat?"
It seems either the torso is odd, or the legs are too short. Maybe missing parts from the removable limbs?
Otherwise I love this. It looks great and am hoping I can get one without too much hassle. I agree that making an army builder an exclusive is terrible (looking at you Cobra Eel).
I tacked Snout Spout onto my SyKlone order since he was still in stock, and he already shipped. Was hoping Sy would also ship fast but nope. Either way, it offset my shipping costs so u appreciate that, even if Spout wasn’t a priority. I hear he’s worth it.
Yeah, that trooper is a squat little fella. I hope the proportions are more like the art renderings, those look great. They also need to paint the "eyes", if they're black instead of yellow I might skip it altogether.
Squat, perhaps, but not so little. If the scaled image in the upper right of the rendering is accurate, the trooper will stand at least a head taller than He-Man. a closer look at the photo image shows the helmet eyes are translucent and may be tinted yellow. Possibly they’re meant to have a light source? That would be cool, and be another perk of a deluxe figure.
That looks like light piping to me. Shine light in through the back of his head and the eyes will glow, like Transformers.
Received Snout Spout today. I only ordered him to offset shipping costs for SyKlone, and he happened to be in stock. Great figure, but still non-essential in my book. His head alone has so much articulation, hinged ears, swivel hinges through the trunk. The rest of the figure is typical Masterverse. Overall I’m not at all disappointed.
What did you all think of the reveals today? I was really happy about all of it. Skeletor and the Throne looks amazing! And I'm so happy we are getting the Motion Picture version of Beast Man.
But Sy-Klone, Mer-Man, Leech, Thunder Punch He-Man, and Battle Armor Skeletor all look great. The weakest for me were the Revolution figures. I will get Snake Sorceress Teela to use as Green Goddess, but I'll probably skip Man O War Man At Arms, and possibly even Emperor Hordak.
I might get Emperor Hordak though to use as a Horde Prime like stand in.
NE figs are my highlight as usual but overall im not blown away
@supercamel-1982 Skeletor stole the show for Masterverse.
Him with the Bone Throne is probably the highlight of the whole reveal. BA Skeletor looks pretty great as well and I can't wait to see him with the helmet on.
Emperor Hordak still looks good to me, and Snake Teela is okay, but got a bit of a bump due to the snake tail train going down her backside. Everything else was pretty good but nothing else really jumped out to me as characters I am going to actively hunt down.
Some great reveals, but I think the standout for me is Sy-Klone. Never cared too much about the character but he looks great. (hopefully this pic doesn't paste as big as it looks like, still not super familiar with the 'new' forum)
Sy-klone and Mer-Man are must haves for me. The Skeletor with throne also looked amazing but I don't need a throne and I won't want to spend to get the whole package for just the figure.
Really really solid reveals overall for MOTU today!
I went from insanely excited about Leech to insanely disappointed. I never watched PoP, so I was just going off of his original/Origins look. I hate the Masterverse's green. It's awful. ☹
Love the bone throne for Skeletor. Will buy it - if only to replace the Mephisto throne I currently have Skeletor sitting on in my display.
The snake goddess Teela is a fun look. I like the New Eternia updates - Sy-Clone looks particularly good. And I don't mind the look for Leech, honestly. It doesn't bother me that he's a different color from the other Leech's I own.
I am jealous seeing Vypor and Reptilax in the Origins line. I wish some of the Axel Gimenez designed characters made their way into this line of figures. They'd be so great at this size and detail. Ah well... still lots of nice stuff to come.
I hoped the throne Skeletor would be the 40th mold, but it's the NE version again. I like the paint better, but the head doesn't scream classic to me. I get the Alcala look they're going for, and it does look pretty sweet, but I don't need a giant throne like that. Though...it could go into a Mythic Legions display...Hmm..
Nah. I found a 40th SDCC set for a good price locally so I'm gonna cave and pick that up instead. Who knows how long it will take to ever get that Skeletor mold single carded.
