Am I crazy or does Snout Spout have lightpiping in his eyes?  Is this new to Masterverse?  Hard to tell what's photoshopped and what is creative lighting.

@theknightdamien Well I don't give too much guff to our fellow American collectors because it is easy to not be too upset when you can get what you want.  Once Rokkon was available to us in Canada I wasn't out there railing against Mattel for not being open to areas they weren't selling to (South America, etc).

So I got just as complacent as others once I was covered.

I have to laugh, not in a good way, that Mattel can't be bothered to send actual Canadian based characters to Canada for sale.  However it could just be the writing on the wall for non-US collectors that Mattel Creations is going to become a US only site.  We'll see what happens with Snout Spout, but if he isn't available outside of the US it probably means future releases will be the same.

That would be a shame, especially for German collectors who are probably the second biggest group outside of the US, or at least a close third to South American (Brazil) collectors.

@canprime  I should clarify; I'm not talking about Americans that just don't really notice or particularly get worked up about what is or isn't available to International collectors. Not at all.
I'm talking about the select group of absolute dinglefucks that will respond to a complaint about non-US availability with 'so what?' or some other variation of saying that this is the way things -should- be.

I think most American collectors, when confronted with a problem international collectors face, will react with something akin to 'aw, that sucks - oh well' - because they recognize it's bad but also aren't directly affected. That's absolutely reasonable and fine. But even here on Fwoosh I've absolutely encountered people that will simp for the corporations and talk down to you about why limited availability and extreme price hikes for non-US collectors is absolutely acceptable and we should just stop talking about it. That's what I was referring to.

I noticed the wrestling figures were also US shipping only.  Really?  Canadians can't buy Bret Hart, are you serious Mattel?

Based on his headsculpts, you could make the argument someone at Mattel actively hates Bret Hart.

This Snout Spout figure looks pretty good. I’ll order him once available

Five Below has some Masterverse.  I picked up Pig-Head and another Sorceress, they also had Shadow Weaver and Man E Faces.  I heard 40th He-Man is out there too.

The upcoming Wal-Mart is rough and so is the Creations to a lesser extent.  Really, some of the sculpts they've released are mostly saved by covering his eyes with his glasses.  He's my favorite and I think Mattel can really nail a likeness, but Bret seems to be getting worse.

I stopped by Five Below this week and saw nary a trace of MotU figures. Are they with the rest of the “action figures”, by which I mean the crappiest licensed three-step Transformers you can imagine and Peppa Pig figurines (arguably better quality than said Transformers)? Anyway, I didn’t see any, but I didn’t check the entire store.

@normdapito yeah that's where I saw them, too.  In those tiny aisles next to $5 knock off Lego sets and such.  My local store has restocked at least once.  The first Shadow Weaver I saw there was covered in mold.  I've seen SW, Sorceress, Pig Man, and Man E Faces.

They were on the bottom shelf and I walked right past them the first time.  I was expecting to see them dumped in a bin due to the amount of shelf or peg space the take up.  Only one each on the shelf.

Managed to not only snag myself a Snout Spout, but one for my out-of-work buddy so he doesn't have to worry about aftermarket later on.

Best of luck, all!

Man, what a bummer about Snout Spout not shipping to Canada. Hopefully they make it available through a Canadian retailer. It's odd, because they had taken steps to make things easier for us, like charging the correct tax which gets rid of any potential customs charges.

If it's temporary, it sucks that they couldn't postpone the sale til it was resolved. I guess they wanted to make sure this was added to their quarterly reports at the end of March or something.

It would be nice to get any type of info, like if it's temporary or permanent. But good info is hard to come by since we shifted from toy mags to influencers. All we get now are a bunch of toy conspiracy theories based on little to nothing. Nobody is there to reach out and ask questions (not that youtubers are responsible for that, I get it's a side-hustle/hobby for most of them). Oh well, I'll end my rant there, hopefully the collector con thing works out for us canucks, but I'd be surprised if it does.

@joedick What's worse is that they have it available to ship to a couple of countries outside of the US but not CANADA???

So the US, UK, Mexico, Germany and AUSTRALIA????  Can all get in on this, but not Canada who is right next door?   Mexico is right next door and they got in, but not us to the north?

$@%# YOU Mattel!!!

You made Rokkon available to us and now you have decided not to include Canada, but Australia?  Australia who is about as far away as you can get for shipping??  Really?

I'm lucky that I wasn't dying to get this figure, but this is not a good omen going forward.

If this continues with the rest of the Origins releases coming up I am really going to be pissed.

I did get x2 Snout Spouts earlier.  He is still available too. I've always loved Snout Spout.  I'm excited to get this one.

I'm very sorry to all who couldn't get it today due to Mattel not shipping to countries outside the US.  I wish they'd get that fixed.  I can't believe a company as big as Mattel can't handle this.

I honestly feel a little dirty having paid $42 shipped after taxes for Snout Spout.     I hemmed and hawed and he was still available at almost 4 pm pacific and I weakened and gave in.    I really like the head sculpt but I probably should have resisted.   Sigh

@panthercult You did the right thing man.  When you get that big elephant headed bastard in hand, you will be so happy you bought him.

It's such a cool version of Snout Spout too.  All the things you look for in a Snout Spout are there, but then some newer things as well.

You needed this toy PantherCult.  When you get it in hand, you will know.  Just like the feeling people describe when they have a daughter or some shit.
