Sy-Klone is probably my favorite heroic warrior but it always seems like he is an afterthought when it comes to the toy lines (and games).  Glad to see he is coming in Masterverse and Origins eventually.

He is one of the few MOTU figures I actually remember acquiring as a kid (I had a lot of them, just don't remember the circumstances surrounding how I got most of them).  I was at an out of town little Walmart and went to the toy aisle and saw a kid holding him in his hands and he was like "Cool, Sy-Klone!  Let me go ask my mom if I can have him".  Then the dense little kid drops him right back onto the shelf and skips off to find his mom.  I did what any sane kid would do and snatched him up and took him to my mom to ask for him.  I don't remember if I had been looking for him or had seen him on a cardback previously, or if I just saw an awesome looking yellow, red, and blue figure and had to have him.  At any rate I got that one.  Hopefully there was another one hiding on the pegs somewhere and I sure hope that kid isn't out there somewhere telling the story of how he was robbed of a Sy-Klone by another little brat one day in the mid-80s in Walmart.

Around 2015 my dad was cleaning out his shed and found a 5 gallon bucket full of my old MOTU figures.  Sy-Klone was nowhere to be found though.  A couple of years after that my grandfather's old barn collapsed and during the clean-up of the site where it stood, my old Sy-Klone figure was found in the wreckage.  Guess I had been playing with him out there one day and lost him.

So yeah, really looking forward to see what they do with him in Masterverse.

I remember getting Sy-Klone too! It was in Texas while visiting family (I’ve lived in NJ all my life.) And I too remember being drawn to the bright primary colors.

So I received figures from the latest wave. Tri-Klops is cool, though I thought he’d look more like the original, or more classic. He has some funky textures which are kind subtle, on his loincloth, on his spinning visor(s). His armor rides up revealing his midriff awkwardly. The visors are a tight fit and spin and click into place. He has some intricate machinery/glyphic sculpting under the visor. Comes with a sash (is that from his original appearances?) and two swords, one much like his original and one that looks more generic. The visors can be swapped but I have no intention of using the one he isn’t already wearing. I’ll probably remove the sash too.

Mekaneck has never been a favorite of mine. He always seemed more “one trick pony” than most. Cardback says he’s the captain of Randor’s submarine force, which still does little to make him cooler. His neck attachments are executed well and I like that the segments allow for more posing, shortening, and lengthening. They’re also compatible with his club, which definitely doubles  as a telescope, canonically depicted in his box photography.

He-Man is pretty standard, but I like that his battle armor is removable. Didn’t love how the previous version was executed. This is probably his best sculpted face, but still not reaching any potential for badassery that so many custom sculpted heads have achieved. It’s just too pretty, even having some blush airbrushed onto the cheeks. I’ve got the classic harness armor on him, but will probably leave the battle armor on. He also comes with his battle axe but no power sword.

Each of the three figures also include two fists. Mek and Tri-Klops have drop hips, but He-Man does not! What the hell? EDIT: He-Man does in fact have drop hips. I just couldn’t move them at first, which brings me to another issue on all three - they have the tightest joints I’ve encountered on Masterverse figures, particularly in the double elbows and knees.

I like this wave, but it’s also pretty run of the mill. Not nearly as impressive as Trap Jaw and Man-At-Arms from the previous wave. I still haven’t ordered the Revolutions specific Skeletor or King Keldor.

I really would like to go crazy buying more neck segments for him kind of like people did with Stilt Man legs from Marvel Legends.  I'd love for him to be able to extend up several shelves.

My Tri-Klops was packaged with two of the same visors (the scale texture one, not the one that had a more tech look).  I e-mailed BBTS to see about getting a replacement visor and they just gave me a store credit for the full figure.  I can't complain.  I just ordered the Masterverse Keldor with it and will just deal with only having one visor.

@normdapito Mek looks so good.  I love being able to articulate the neck.  It just adds so much more personality and attitude to the figure just through a simple pose vs. what we have been able to do before.

Seeing the wave twelve Masterverse packaging, I can’t help but notice all the (potential) army builders in the backgrounds.

so the obvious question becomes:

Are we going to see these done in the Masterverse line, and if so, when?  With Horde troopers on the way, are we going to see more army builders, not just the ones on packaging, but others too:

Skelcons, Goblins, Shadow Beasts, Robot Knights, Horde Wraiths, and of course Snake-Men.

The Snout Spout landing page is up.

$33 plus shipping means he'll be about $40.  He's a great looking figure but that's more than I want to spend, and the pressure gauge belt buckle is pretty dumb.  I'd be taking the belt off and that would kind of kill a lot of the look since that would also mean no hoses.

Money saved!

snout spout is gorgeous but i'm not a fan of the single-jointed elbows.  is he the first masterverse figure with them?

Snout Spout does look good -  but as a Mattel Creations exclusive it's going to be $27 or something so after tax and shipping it's going to be close to $40 for one figure.

So yep...  $33 base price plus $7 shipping so $40 plus tax for the one figure.   I like it, but I'm not sure I like it that much...

I just don't like Snout Spout that much as a character or design. I'll live if this one doesn't make its way into my collection. $40 is expected, but I'm not about that "making time for Mattel Creations drops" life.

I love that they went absolutely over the top dead serious Snout Spout look. I'll try to get one for sure, but if they sell out I won't be devastated. I've missed a few of the Mattel Creations exclusives and I feel like once exclusives get tougher to get, I start fading a little in worry and interest.

I was waiting on ONE MORE MOTU figure to hit my POL but finally gave up waiting (Turtles Mutated Ram-Man) but now I've got Mekaneck, Tri-Clops, and Battle Amor en route along with some Origins stuff. For some reason Battle Armor He-Man is the one I'm super psyched to get in hand more than the others.

I have to get Snout Spout.  He is one of my all-time favorite characters from the MOTU brand, and his toys are always some of my absolute favorites out of any MOTU line.

Also, I know I've said it on here before, but when they revealed him last year, he immediately became one of my most anticipated figures.  I like this silly elephant bastard, and I WILL have it.

I really like the looks of Snout Spout.  I think they did a great job with the figure.

HOWEVER......

First it is would be $48Cdn which is about $36US.  So we are already getting a bit more gouged than the US.  Then there is shipping which the cheapest from Mattel for Canada is $13Cdn.  With tax it would be about $69Cdn.  No thanks.  I don't like Snout Spout that much.

Second.......

Once again Snout Spout is showing that he isn't available outside the US.  Much like Rokkon was showing before, it seems there could be no love for anyone outside the US if they want Snout Spout.  I am hoping they correct this like they did with Rokkon, but who knows.  I mean why show me the price in Canadian dollars if you won't let me buy it?

I noticed the wrestling figures were also US shipping only.  Really?  Canadians can't buy Bret Hart, are you serious Mattel?

@mrboshek Mattel is a mess. Been doing this forever. Literally wave 1 of their WWE Elite figures, when they first got the license; the case assortment sent to Canadian retailers did not include Edge. So they didn't send the only Canadian wrestler in the assortment to Canada.
The lack of respect given to the non-US market by toy manufacturers is honestly pretty upsetting when you sit and think about it (unless you're a weird nationalist American that thinks things should be this way because America is so much better than everyone else.. or something).
