Still waiting for the lottery win before I can jump into the Exo line but I think those are probably best Trek figures going now.

Preordered Odo today.  I'm all in DS9, my favorite Trek show.

So no thoughts on how you guys are gonna display your Hiya Treks?  Those old PlayMates 2009 sets are the obvious candidates but they kinda blow for a variety of reasons; and I'm not wanting to be beholden to the movies so much and use these as 'evergreen' stand-ins for any and all variations of the characters.  All the cool kids play their own head-canon anyways.

What all non-Trek aliens are y'all planning to mingle with these guys beyond the discussions of using Keenser with Ugnaughts?  Black Krrsantan should look very cool amongst these guys, imho.  Hell, the Greek and Fantasy BossFight figures have a lot of inter-mingle potential, too; same for the Marauder Nazis.

Keenser is definitely going in my Hoth Rebel base display.  I'm still not sure if I'm going all-in on the line but I've wanted a good Keenser for a while now.

It's not as obvious in that shot, but in some of the other promos it's really clear how well they captured John Cho's features (which are pretty unique).  These are shaping up to look really nice so far!

Uhura's our last major holdout from the primary group.  Would also be fun to get Pike from either of the first 2 films; Khan & Carol Marcus from Into Darkness; and Jaylah and the main villains from Beyond (I think one of them was Idris Elba?).

Gonna need black uniform Kirk too. He spent the majority of ST2009 in that shirt.

Yeah, that Cho likeness is one of the best I've ever seen in 18th *or* 12th scale.  Well done, Hiya.  Keep that shit up.

Playmates should be embarrassed by how bad they blew it in comparison. I was really hoping they might have come around but at this point I’m hoping for the best with Hiya and Super7. I really want to see what Hiya can do with TNG’s Borg and SNW’s Gorn. It’s also very nice to have some figures from the JJ Abrams movies that aren’t totally garbage!

TNG wave 1 from Super 7 is now shipping over at EE. And they're doing a BOGO sale+free shipping.

Looks like Playmates cancelled the figure line. That was a short and botched stunt.

Funny how figures with zero retail presence didn't sell well enough for them, huh?!  1:18 figures of this caliber are a dream for me but I want Kenner SW level of character selection too.  All the mains plus aliens, background characters, etc.  Hopefully these 2009 figures do well so they can move into the OG universe eventually.  However based on how weird licensing is they probably will do the current P+ series next since I believe they are all the same Bad Robot license.  Old Trek is a weird arrangement and a new license as I understand it.

@zombief-body I really hope Hiya will be able to do what none of these other companies have been able or willing to do. I am so disgusted and disillusioned by Playmates. The rose colored glasses have come off and I’m to the point that I don’t really know if I want to support them going forward on the ships and role play stuff they are talking about producing. I just don’t want to reward their stupidity. Hiya is really close to revealing a complete collection of figures from the first movie which is a helluva lot more than what can be said for any of the companies that have come in the years since the original Playmates run. I’m going to have to support the line. I love the detail and articulation. I can’t wait to see what they do with The Borg!

I had a dream where I was in a collectibles store looking at a collection of shelves of opened 6” Star Trek figures made in Star Wars Black Series quality. Hundreds of them. I had no interest in the original series, TNG, or modern series figures, but the forty or so Deep Space Nine figures I made up in my head were awesome. You should have seen the lifelike expression on the Captain Sisko figure

Anyway, this is all to say that we shouldn’t fret about the lack of Trek figures. Even if Playmates never gets back to what it was in the 90’s, we can always dream a collection and be impressed by that.

Funny thing, I had a similar dream years ago about going to Target and seeing a 1:18 line on par with SWVC figures on the pegs.  The wave was TWOK Kirk, Generations Riker, a Gorn, Kruge, TMP Spock, DS9 movie uniform Sisko and I think Harry Kim.  I've had weird dreams like that before.  I think in one I found a line of 1:18 Cheers figures at a Big Lots.

I'm into lucid dreaming and followed some papers my professor at CSU gave me to read on quantum psychology when I got my psych degree so I think they're doorways into alternate realities.  Whether they are or not that's what I choose to believe!
