They need an anchor biggie.  I'm cool with CAPT Sulu this wave if that's the case.  Certainly isn't another TOS version or even TMP which all have had figures done before multiple times.  It's definitely my favorite version of Sulu.  I guess they could have really gone gonzo and done a STIII/IV civie version!  I imagine we'll see Scotty in his radiation suit, maybe Kirk in his strike team outfit from STV (or the casual coat).  Certainly peaks my interest but Trek is so niche now, can a line of deep Trek cuts survive long?  As Shatner says in his UnXplained show, we shall see!

I also really hope Nacelle will note the fan response that people want core characters in their most familiar uniforms and make that happen. I agree about getting away from the rubbery clothing over joints. I live in the South and hot weather has a way of breaking materials like that back down into a nasty and sticky goo. I am really hoping we get all those Enterprise characters. I loved the series and none of my figures from that show have held up over the last 23 years. I hope we get a Tholian to go with Mirror Archer!

If you guys feel strongly about the direction of this line, all I can say is please email them at [email protected] and let them know. I think this is a rare opportunity to have direct contact with the creator of this line, someone who is very passionate about the franchise. I feel like this is the best chance we've had to get a Trek line a lot of us are hoping for, and I feel like this is a company that is actively soliciting customer feedback that will actually be read by someone who has direct control over the product.

I posted my concerns on IG about the line not having enough anchor characters.  Brian responded about Archer and Sulu being in the first wave.  I expressed the line gives me a Super7 Ultimates Simpsons vibe in that steering clear of heavy hitter characters in their main looks is going to be a problem.  So many Star Trek lines have appeared and failed.  I think customers are iffy about committing to a new line, since they doubt it'll have legs enough to complete any ship's crew.  Starting a line with such niche characters seems certain to fail.  I mentioned the line up for wave 2 (should the line even get a wave 2) will be really telling for fans hoping for any kind of longevity.

I understand not wanting to do classic/normal Kirk or Picard in wave 1.  However, something like Seven of Nine or Captain Janeway would have been more appropriate than Tuvix.   Worf as a Klingon.  Geordi with alternate visorless head.   Yeoman Rand.  Maybe a Bashir figure with alternate Voyager Doctor parts, like jag2045 suggested.   There's obviously tons of potential for a Star Trek line in terms of character selection, but this first wave is rather questionable character wise.

But... that's not Archer. That's Mirror-Archer. Not exactly a likable guy. How exactly is he supposed to make fans of Archer happy? That's like saying, Oh, but Tuvok and Neelix are in the wave - as Tuvix.

That McCoy misses the mark. I'll get it, but just wish it looked a little more...Urbanish.

As every “old country doctor” should.

I would absolutely be in for the Star Trek III crew in their civvies! I've wanted them for years. I was so into STIII ask a kid!

Seems that as a fan himself, he’s in tune already with what the best episodes and most memorable characters (or outfits) are. That said I’m so appreciative of his choice to respond on Instagram to fans.

I almost picked that up, but I honest-to god hate the DST paint apps on their movie era Kirk's face. I have the ST II version, and the eyes/eyebrows/forehead just look so bad to me.

Damn. I briefly got excited about a Star Trek line, but when I saw it was all deep cuts, with the closest to an anchor character being Cpt Sulu, that excitement went away. I never collected the DST line, or the AA line. The only figure I own is McFarlane's Cpt Kirk.

I have exactly zero interest in a line of nothing but deep cuts. I'd love a Trek line to collect, but I'm gonna need the staples like Kirk and Picard or its all a big pass for me.

It seems like a really, really odd way to run a line, making sure your product line only appeals to a niche group (hardcore Trekkies with large action figure collections) of a niche group (the overall Star Trek fandom).

I did write an email to the address someone posted. Hopefully if enough of us pipe up, we can start getting some of the staples.

I think a "Captains" box set would be a great compliment to waves of deeper cuts.  TOS Kirk, TNG Picard, movie uniform Sisko, Janeway and Archer.

@zombief-body I definitely think preorder box sets of key characters would be ideal. I would definitely back those preorders!

Also even if they are basing this on completing past releases from DST or whatever, the scale was all over the place on those.  TOS/movies were smaller than TNG era figures.  This should be a clean start.  I honestly didn't really care for the DST stuff.  Mid-2000s SW level articulation just looks awkward at a 1:10 scale.  The pre-posed DST stuff had soft sculpts and so-so paint too.  I really didn't like those even though I bought them.

I'll have to email them my thoughts but for the TL:DR: fold the biggies in more frequently, and consider this line a clean start.
