@bgiles73 That video was great! He showed what looked like a TNG prototype while covering up the head too! Now I really can't wait to see what comes.

@sgtstinky that’s a real bummer considering how toyetic the designs in SNW are. Someone needs to make figures of those characters in their away jackets, away armor, spacesuits, and regular uniforms. Exo-6 is only committed to the basic uniforms for SNW because their ceo has said the armored looks are too expensive

IF these really are compatible with the Art Asylum figures, I'll be a happy camper...especially if they give us Rand & Chapel.

I know Brian Volk-Weiss mentioned he want to avoid characters everyone seems to have, but a few of the Diamond Select 6-7" figures command a hefty price on the secondary market. Plus we're dealing with Star Trek, a franchise whose costume design hinges on matching outfits/colors among a crew. So personally I'd want them mix in one or two main characters per wave among the deep cuts and costume variations.

As far as avoiding repeat figures, my list so far is:

TOS Sarek
TOS Trelane
TOS Salt Vampire
TOS Andorian (Journey to Babel)
TOS Nurse Chapel
TOS Yeoman Rand
TOS Tholian Web Kirk EVA suit
TMP Spock Thruster Suit
TMP Klingon
STIII Kruge
STIII Kirk
STIII McCoy
STIII Sulu
Generations Kirk
The Cage Pike
The Cage Number One

I really think we will probably get the mains in their standard uniforms look as well, it just won’t be the main focus of the line starting out. I also really think we will get the newer stuff too if Paramount sees demand for it. I kinda wonder if maybe someone like DST is maybe thinking about getting back in to Trek and Nacelle is providing supporting and niche characters. Maybe MSWORD could enlighten us in the near future ( I know I heard rumors of DST maybe coming back to Trek at the time of SDCC)? Also, Brian Volk-Weiss mentioned a character with 45 seconds of screen time, my bet is on The Punk Rocker Guy on the bus in Star Trek IV! His scene is exactly 45 seconds long and he would perfectly complement the figures of Kirk and Spock DST did for Star Trek IV!

My list is:

Tasha Yar

I made one and I REALLY want to replace it with one that does her justice.

Okay, my list is longer than that, but she is my Top Ten.

The hips on that proto Brian previewed were interesting - I'm real curious how Nacelle's Expanse figures are turning out.

It doesn’t seem like anyone noticed? Check Brian’s Sept 7th post on his personal Instagram. He notes “big announcement” coming soon with a blurry pic of the legs for 3 figures. One has a cape/cloak, the other is the TNG command one(my bets are on Jellico like a lot of people seem to note)and the 3rd is for sure a radiation suit TWOK character. Note the black foot/boot with the all white leg.

I'll probably grab these but I do so without any enthusiasm.  Tempted to not even get in with it but I'd get FOMO in case this is THE line we've all been waiting and older figures shoot up in cost.  However, been screwed too many times to get my hopes up for a Trek line with legs.  My relationship with Trek toylines reminds of the Sam Kenison bit about falling in love again.  Come on it, it's OK, I won't hurt you this time!  I promise!!

I had not noticed that post on Brian’s Instagram but I think you’re right about that Engineering Suit! I’m kinda thinking the figure with the cape might be Ardra from The Next Generation episode “The Devil’s Due”! I’m still leaning to the mystery 45 seconds of screen time character as being the Mohawk Guy on the bus in Star Trek IV!

@bgiles73 yeah I was real surprised no one seemed to have caught that. Regardless, I guess we’ll have news this weekend! I agree you’re pretty spot on about the 45 seconds punk rock dude from IV. I’m torn on the cloaked person. Either way I’m pretty happy in “reading between the lines” it seems like they are really saying in spirit this line is a continuation of Art Asylum/DST. I’m sure for many reasons that can only allude to that fact though. I WILL say though kinda interesting, I feel like the already rather small enthusiasm for HIYA has been demolished by the Nacelle announcement.

Oh don’t underestimate Hiya. Their 4 inch figures are incredible. A lot of people would really like to have Star Trek represented in 1:18th scale, myself included! Their 6” figures also look great like Mezco’s before them. I think we are all looking for something that can fill in where DST left off. A lot of DST’s figures articulation on those Kirk and Picard figures that were done countless times is now pretty dated, so I hope Nacelle will give us those characters again too. Just so those two don’t comprise a whole wave!

You’re right…I know a ton of people have been clamoring for that classic Star Wars figure scale for Trek. Sigh…I guess I may give in and get some HIYA’s too. Agree 100% I love Nacelle’s business plan of filling gaps…but wouldn’t mind their interpretations of the main characters either…yes as long as…cough McFarlane…they are in addition to other characters…either way I guess we’ll have a ton to discuss tomorrow! And since I’m a betting man:

Generations Soran

TWOK Radiation suit Scotty

SEARCH FOR SPOCK Robin Curtis Saavik

VOYAGE HOME agree it’s the 45 second punk rocker

TNG Jellico

Voyager 7 of 9
