I ordered Kirk, Spock and McCoy from Hiya Toys and according to my shipping notice they should be here this Saturday. I of course had to wait a while for them to apparently get here from China, but it seems like my other preorders most likely won’t get here until October or November. I just got tired of waiting. I like what I saw in the reviews that were linked here a few posts ago. I have Hiya’s prior Alien figures of the Nostromo crew in space suits from Alien. They were a little pale and pink in the face also but still very nice looking figures. These Hiya Star Trek figures are miles ahead of anything we have gotten lately and I am very much hoping we get figures from all across the Star Trek Legacy from this company. I’m anxious to see their eventual Uhura figure!

Remembered the 24th was the last day for the EXO-6 Beverly pre-order... at 12:02am the 25th.

Whoops! Probably for the best - I really need to not open the door to this scale. I am allowed Tasha and Seven when they inevitably get back around to her (with a hopefully improved face and hair color).

Ironically, I remembered while I was scrolling through TNG episodes after I reactivated Paramount+ for a month to watch Discovery's final season.

Hoshi is next up for EXO and looks pretty great, except she needs a longer neck?

Saw somebody on Fb got Hiya McCoy in-hand, and apparently the entire Trek line has Kirk on the card.  I'm not a fan of making Trek 'about' Kirk.

I got the first three direct from Hiya. They all look incredible and really have me hoping that they do more than just the 2009 JJ Abrams movies. I wish the card art would have had either the Enterprise or the movie poster instead of just Kirk. Hopefully moving forward they will change this.

nice! i'm really liking their biker mice from mars figures so this good news.

hopefully they'll be able to expand beyond kirk and picard and go beyond just one wave. the article say they'll all the shows and movies but then other companies said the same thing... we'll see if they'll keep that promise.

@new-batman

The statement from Brian Volksweis in this announcement gives me a feeling that he is as motivated as EXO-6 to go deep into the Star Trek Legacy. I am thinking we might get “Disco McCoy” as a 6” figure in this deal too. This is the guy that brought us the Netflix series “The Toys That Made Us”! I don’t think he’s going to let us down because Star Trek sounds like his life long ambition and dream. Nacelle’s series of figures for “The Expanse” are definitely a fine example of what they are going to do for Star Trek! I’m not going to lie, it’s going to get expensive. I think it is going to be money well spent though!

Yeah this is undoubtedly exciting news but after being burned like 6 times already I can’t imagine buying in until I’ve seen a full crew released.

They should do it like their Expanse line, as a kickstarter with a full crew (at this point I’d take any full crew) released at once.

With so many companies starting and stopping Star Trek lines, it's hard to get excited for this one.

And while "focusing" on unmade (as toys) characters and unmade looks (maybe only the accessories are unmade) popular characters sounds nice.  It may also be a death knell for the line.  Can a line survive on minor characters and variant looks?  Also, are they considering all toy lines as covering characters and looks?  Or just 6 inch lines?  Because they're haven't been many 6" Star Trek lines.   I can see them having to make some regular looks for main characters, since they'd be the backbone and foundation of the brand/line.   So yes, let's get some off the wall choices, but they can't possibly avoid main looks and expect to survive.

Nacelle also hasn't gone deep on any line as of yet, since they're relatively new to figure making.  Their lines have been a few figures at most.  I think Biker Mice had the largest release, with 3 figures in a "wave."  With so many ST tv shows and movies to draw from, it would take a major push to make any crew, or even the line, feel cohesive.   And it'll take so long to complete even one bridge crew.  Hopefully, this line does do well and at least one show gets a semi-complete crew.

At this point, I'll be happy if just Seven of Nine (from Voyager not Picard) is made as a 1/12ish scale action figure.  And some Klingon warriors.  I can see those being fun to interact with other lines.

I will wait patiently to see what Nacelle shows. I am dying for a great 6 inch Star Trek line. I hope this one pans out.

I want to be excited, but like everyone else I'll be taking a wait-and-see approach to this line. It's nice to hear that they're excited about working with Star Trek, but I recall McFarlane being quite enthusiastic about it too, and that line ended with two action figures getting a hard to find release. Not saying a similar situation will happen here, but I'll temper my expectations.

That said, what's really killing any excitement I could have for this line, is the mention that it only covers the shows from TOS through Enterprise and the movies. No mention of any of the newer shows, which arguably need figures the most.

Hmmmm....I WANT to be excited about this, and it sounds like this is a passion project for Brian, but as others have noted...we've been burned SO many times before.

I recently tracked down the remaining Art Asylum figures of the TOS Bridge crew I was missing, mainly by picking up loose figures, so I'm content for the time being. Still, if these are good, and Nacelle truly commits to some great selection, I'd likely be all-in for 1:12 Trek figures.

This seems like an almost impossible uphill battle. There have been too many toy manufacturers promising a lot with the Star Trek license and delivering little, leaving us with bits and pieces of useless stuff. As a result of that, barely anyone is gonna get excited without seeing a full crew first.

But for me, there is another thing also; I want my figures to be well articulated. And if the (prototype-)expanse figures are anything to go by, nacelle isn't going to make me happy here.

I totally get and agree with everyone else’s points on curving expectations. I see Brian Volks-Weiss as a true fan of the show and not someone like Todd McFarlane or any of the other people involved with Star Trek Toys in recent years. I think that’s could take this line to places other companies were reluctant or unwilling to go. The fact that Nacelle isn’t afraid to crowdfund, might be the most cost effective and successful way of getting those crews that we want to have complete and in the uniforms we are most all familiar with. I have willingly chipped in on several crowdfunding ventures over the last decade and came away with several items that were deemed as never going to happen. Jabba’s Sail Barge,  Cat’s Lair,  Alien Reaction Figures and Egg Chamber, Mos Eisley Cantina and Tonnika Sisters…. It’s about damn time Star Trek gets crowd funding!

Yeah really feel like kickstarter is the way to go, assuming the license allows for it. Show us a full 8 figure wave with stretch goals and everything. I’d get so hyped for that
