I would gladly have DST back with articulated Star Trek figures in 7” Scale and new ships and role-play items. Minimates too! I like what Hiya has been showing with their 4” figures and 6” figures, but I would still like to see DST back too! Hiya’s Enterprise was also awesome. I wonder if Diamond showing Hiya’s line in DST’s booth for SDCC indicates that they are involved beyond just distributing Hiya’s products. I really hope that both these companies can get product out for current Star Trek shows primarily but also get Legacy Classics out too. Like Hasbro does with their Marvel Legends. That’s a great mix of Current and Classic Characters.
Here we go again! Amazon has once again cancelled my preorders for Hiya Toys Star Trek Exquisite Mini Kirk and McCoy. There’s been no damn update from Hiya on what’s going on either. It’s really starting to look like we are never going to have an affordable collectible for Star Trek in a scale any of us are interested in. It’s really becoming an unenjoyable experience waiting for any of these companies to launch a line that feels in any way complete or committed to a fan base. Even the once great Hasbro has let us all down more times than can be kept up with in recent years.
Chill, bro; Amazon canxing again doesn't mean shit to the actual production or not of the figures; just that their scheduling algo ticked over a timer and auto-canxed. Hiya just showed off all kinds of in-production stuff like 2weeks ago.
I just don't understand why all y'all are in such a tizzy over Hiya focusing on Godzilla production when it's their obvious 5-star moneymaker license for this year.
Maybe it is just Amazon but thats like the third time. They did not ask if I would like to keep the order this time just that it is canceled and no longer showing up on Amazon. We have all been chilling so long waiting on Hiya it’s a new Ice Age! Lol …I don’t have a problem with Hiya showing off other lines. I think those Godzilla and King Kong figures are incredible. Same for GI Joe, Walking Dead, everything else. I see on Facebook and Instagram that Hiya follows “Lord of the Rings” I know I’m probably reading into that, but wouldn’t it be incredible if they tapped that license and D&D for their 4” line?! I just hope Hiya has those Star Trek figures soon. The packaged figures shown at SDCC looked like they were 100% retail ready. It’s just where are they?

I hear you. It's really difficult to be a Star Trek collector on a budget these days. The Hiya experience has been frustrating, especially coming off the heels of a very frustrating experience with Playmates. I don't understand why. If NECA can make Flash Gordon movie figures, Gremlins figures, and Back to the Future figures, why on earth can't a decent Star Trek line get off the ground properly? Surely Star Trek must have broader appeal than some of these other franchises. These other franchises don't even have current media. Hell, Mego-meet was this past weekend, and I didn't hear any Mego Trek news coming out of that either.
Gotta really start to wonder if it’s Paramount that’s the problem. Could it be that they are micromanaging and creating difficulties for their license holders and those companies are coming to the conclusion that it’s just no longer worth the effort? I know McFarlane Toys, DST and Mego all mentioned objections to certain stipulations imposed by Paramount. One of those was that ugly unified packaging design that all these companies had to adhere to. Mego would have probably been more eye catching had they been able to duplicate the look of the classic 70s backer cards. McFarlane had mentioned issues with Paramount licensing regarding the Phaser and Michael Burnham Discovery figure and dropped the license shortly after. Hasbro did next to nothing with their Star Trek license, not Mattel, not Johnny Lightning, Jazwares acquired the license for Micro-Machines but steers away of questions regarding Star Trek products again. There’s too many other like instances of similar occurrences surrounding Star Trek products. It’s really an interesting thing watching to see how long a newly introduced Star Trek product hangs around before just fading out.
Exo is doing Disco McCoy from the beginning of ST:TMP. He was DRAFTED!!
Always loved that McCoy. This might be my first EXO-6 purchase!
I've always wondered how "country" that old country doctor was. He's a sharp dresser as a civie and that hospital his father was in in STV looked to be in a major city area. I'm sure "country" has a different meaning 300-years from now. He probably comes from an area with spotty super fast quantum wifi!
He's so country his daddy was teaching him how to fire a 12gauge phaser at 8years old!
Here is the Hiya 1/18th Pike

It looks nice but it would look nicer if those preorders we all made a year ago were here in our waiting hands.
Alright, so, ships. I need ships. I never got any, but Eaglemoss has ended so I cant go there. Old school Playmates are either cheap and broke or expensive. Official model kits are short on variety, and the homemade garage resin kits look neat, but that a whole other alternate parallel reality of collecting I don't know if I delve into. What are my options? I need an matching scale D7 with Romulam insignia vs a TOS era single nacelle cruiser, cuz I love my funky ships.

For 1/1000 scale they have the TOS Enterprise, Botany Bay, TOS Romulan BOP, TOS Klingon D7 with alternate Romulan Markings, TMP Enterprise, STII Reliant, STII Klingon BoP, USS Grissom, and USS Excelsior, plus Voyager and DS9's Defiant and the NX-01 from Enterprise.
If you go down to 1/2500 scale there's even more, and they tend to be pretty good about re-releasing older kits:
They can be fun to build, but they do take a good bit of time and patience. Plus you'd need to spend money on model supplies, so they're not for everyone.
