I agree with the last few statements. Playmates really struck out but so did the last few companies attempting to get this stuff out. None of them have been able to convince buyers that they would have at least one complete crew by the time the line ran its course. Nobody wants a 500 piece puzzle if only 100 pieces are in the box. We have a whole lot of false start action figures destined for The Land of Misfit Toys!

Didn't Hiya make the APC from Aliens too for the 1:18 line?  A shuttlecraft could even be on the table for their Trek line.  They aren't selling to Target so I'd think anything could possible.

@zombief-body Here’s a link to a photo review of the APC. Hiya could definitely be potentially the best thing ever for Star Trek!

I want to add that Hiya’s figures are better by leaps and bounds over the Colonial Marines in these pictures too! They have made very ambitious changes to sculpts, articulation and photo-real face printing.

I always thought the 2009 bridge was way too busy but I think that's a must for the Hiya line.  I may be game for these figures beyond Keenser.  I'm thinking I'll need Scotty to go with him so I'll test how they feel to me.

@zombief-body I’m scared to see what a Hiya Bridge may end up costing because if it’s as cool as that APC they did for Aliens it’s going to be something I have to have. Honestly though I would prefer an Enterprise D or Original Series Bridge first though. The 2009 Bridge would be awesome too but I wouldn’t want for it to stand in the way of the others happening. I think the more iconic bridges would have to happen to show that such a thing is warranted. I think what might be more realistic is maybe bridge stations something similar to how Hasbro did the Tantive IV hall section that could be linked to other hall sections.

No one ever releasing Kirk on a motorcycle after he did it in two movies is an action figure crime!

Are the Kelvin movies really the "most hated" in the franchise? I would question that.

I think Playmates not getting Prodigy figures into stores was a huge problem, and then reshipping Wave 1 of the regular toys instead of Wave 2 was the second worst idea. "Hey, this time we painted them!" = not a good excuse.

Such a bummer.

@schizm I think you’re right questioning if they are the most hated. They did pretty well about attracting new fans but Paramount wasted too much time between movies and by the time the third movie came out, it met with smaller box office gains. The sad news of losing Anton Yelchin did not help to get the fourth film out. If we do get a fourth film, I know it was said they would not recast the role of Chekhov but a considerable amount of time will have passed.  I think this might be too sad a reminder of what happened and maybe it would be better to have a dedication to the actor instead. I would really love to see Tom Holland in the role.

I’m impressed with the amount of figures Hiya has revealed and I believe that if they show an effort to at least complete all the core characters from the JJ Abrams movies they will create collector confidence in their company and that will lead to more great things. If they falter and do as Playmates, McFarlane Toys and Art Asylum/Diamond Select have done in the past with insufficiently completed lines, they might just be toast. I made preorders for all that have been announced to show cautious optimism and support.

Having just watched Pixel Dan's video from NYTT with Brian Volk-Weiss from Nacelle it makes me wish they'd pick up the Trek licence, the guy clearly has a lot of passion for their products and love for Trek, seems like the perfect place.

You can watch it here:

@asm Now that is definitely a case of when one door closes another opens! The price is a little ouch but not any more so than Mezco One:12. I am definitely loving what Hiya has been showing in 1:18! Did you check out Neegan for their Walking Dead line?! I could easily see them doing figures for Picard Season 3 and Strange New Worlds too! I sure need for Hiya to make a ton of 1:18th Borg!

Negan and the Walker King look fantastic. Pre-ordered both of those.

I am hoping that they do Strange New Worlds in either scales.

1/12 scale Kirk is up at BBTS for $110. Not sure why they added 20 bucks to the price, so I'll wait and see what EE puts him up for.

Calling your own product series "Super Exquisite" is certainly setting a high bar. Is that a translation issue? Sounds like how knockoffs advertise themselves.

I need to see Kirk next to some other 1:12 scale figures to compare, but in these photos his heads look small, like they are 5".

Negan looks fantastic at 4" and all plastic. Has Hiya announced the price of the 4" ST line?

@schizm $24.99 for the little guys. Hiya has a 6” Rambo from Rambo 3 that looks really impressive and proportioned right. I guess I am going to have to check out the JJ Abrams movies again to see if maybe Chris Pine has a small head in real life. Maybe they didn’t want to just come out and call them “Super Expensive”! Lol

Does not bode well for S7 and Trek

Too bad because Reaction classic BSG is also something like V I'd like to see in this style.  Got the bluray set of 1978 BSG for Christmas so I'm fiending for some figures now!
