Grabbed Goku at SDCC, going to open him tonight and try some head swaps. Was going to hard pass on him until I saw him in person, they just looked so good as a set. The nimbus is huge, and I decided him and Gohan would make a great centerpiece in the display, together they really capture the joy and whimsy of the show. He has also the most early DBZ styled heads on a Goku so far, his ears are large and the hair is great. He’ll go well with the new Scouter Vegeta (I just saw a third party hip armor tail set for him)

Going to sell my Superhero and SSJ 2 Goku to make room.Β

The new Daima figures were on display and also looked great in person. They are so small but incredibly articulated! Not sure how the show will turn out, but all three of these looked fantastic together.Β

You think they'll redo Super Trunks, but with a new body? Whats wrong with the old body? I don't have 1, but him being my fave character I wanted to try and get him, but if I should wait and see I may do that.

@trunks3540 realistically, no. I don't think that version of the character is popular enough to warrant a redo. The old body is just slight compared to the animation, like comparing their original Future Trunks to the newer one. I don't think they nailed the likeness either and I wish he had a portrait with whited out eyes. At any rate, the Hope Sword included with the original is a big draw for me and how I'd probably pose him so when this re-release dropped that it was already severely devalued for me.

I picked up the NYCC pearlescent Broly only after seeing him in person at the convention--the effect looks absolutely gorgeous on the figure and photos didn't do it justice. It also works with that character, for some reason, maybe because how unique he was in the movie.Β

Saw Trunks in person and had the opposite reaction. The pearlescent effect doesn't hit the same way as Broly. At least not to my tastes.

Got the Goku set open last night. I enjoy it a lot, in spite of it being the 2.0 body. Which I don't mind, except for the sleeves. As far as a 2.0 goes, it is executed better than the $35 iterations -- completely matte, good joints, paint, etc. He comes with a couple new hand poses which I appreciate, they are expressive. And the faces are particularly good, though I might say not 100% there. Not sure why Bandai struggles with heads in this line as much as they do. However, much better in my opinion than SROE or SuperHero Goku's. I particularly like them because they feel the most early DBZ of all the figures. I have prime nostalgia for the Saiyan Saga.Β

Nimbus is large but extremely light. It has a grippy, rough texture to it which I think helps Goku maintain his balance. Gohan is cute, but could have had a little more articulation, like ball jointed thighs, and another expression (angry or crying), to add value to the high price tag. Putting all three together makes for an epic piece.Β

Overall, I'd say this package has the best overall base form Goku SHF has released to this date, rivaled only to the Demoniacal Fit Martialist Forever, though that is a distinctly different vibe. Whether it's worth the price is subjective, but I have a feeling anyone who buys it won't be disappointed. Great shelf presence.Β

The new Goku does look pretty nice, I just feel like I've already purchased that figure so many times at this point that I'm actively refusing to do so again. Plus, I have the Kid Goku with Nimbus figure so I'm not really looking to add another Nimbus to my display. I remain hopeful that Bandai some day does an end of Dragon Ball Goku with all new parts. They've become so much better at era specific portraits, as evidenced by the newest Vegeta release, that I think they could do a really nice Goku from then. They could also get quite a bit of reuse out of it by doing a battle damaged Goku from the end of his fight with Piccolo Jr. and also repurpose it for his fight with Raditz.

Yea I saw the Trunks on their site. Not worth the $75 imo. I don't like the translucent hair and his outfit looks so shiny. I have the Dragon Stars version, both SS and normal, and while those aren't all that great articulation wise, the colors at least look fine. They're nice display pieces. If they rereleased normal colors for Super Trunks I'd buy it. Hopefully cheaper then $75. But I don't think I like this exclusive one.

I found SSB Goku at Target for $35 today. I'm gonna guess it's a rerelease like the Saiyan Armor Trunks and SSB Vegeta later this year. He's pretty good honestly. I don't like the shoulders much, but the rest of the figure is awesome. I may end up painting the hair with a more metallic blue, depending on how Vegeta turns out when he comes in. I also wanna get the SS4 versions of both Vegeta and Goku, but the latter is sold out, and the former is too expensive for the present moment. One of the best things about this Goku though, he can actually do the Kamehameha poses. Alot of the older ones can't. That helps his awesomeness.

They had Frieza too but I only had enough money for one presently, and I have the Dragon Starz Frieza, which isn't a terrible figure. The Figuarts one does look better, but I'll wait on it.

Daima figures are up on BBTS. $35 for goku and vegeta is reasonable, but $60 for Piccolo?? That's wild.

Amazon has SS4 Vegeta for $49. I jumped on that. He should be here tomorrow. SS4 is my favorite transformation. It just looks really cool, i love how they incorporated the monkey in the design. I know they never will cause it never existed in the show, but I wish they would make a SS4 Trunks. His only existence is in fanart, but the design looks really cool, and with Trunks being my favorite character, it would be the Ultimate figure. I wonder how hard and expensive it wold be to customize one. Also really want SS4 Goku to be rereleased. And it would probably need to be a mix of that and Future Trunks with the Jacket with some repainting.

@jag2045 24k Vegeta and Kyewi/Cui should have been delivered already if you ordered from Premium Bandai. Frieza is scheduled for September and Battle Clothes (Old Style) Vegeta is scheduled for February. The current SDCC preorders are also schedule for then. I don't know the rest as I didn't order them, but the listings may still be available on Premium Bandai with the anticipated ship date.

I got SS4 Vegeta today. Fuckin chefs kiss. This figure is fantastic. All the hands, the faces, and the little energy ball. Hes awesome. Only thing I would've liked his ankles getting a little more up and down range. He has a bit of a harder time in crouch poses. But he still does them well. And he can do all of his energy blast poses. Big Bang, Final Flash, Final Shine. He's really cool. I love this figure. Hope I can snag Goku at some point.

Thanks πŸ™‚ - I live in the UK so there's generally about a one month delay from the Japan/US release dates for them to finally get here
