I am SO into spoopy/spooky season. So much so that the wife and I will be making our third trek out to Salem, MA next month.
It is shlocky, yes. And they've leaned into the Witch Trials thing a little too hokily, but that's part of its charm. A tragic history, with a certain sadness that is undeniable in the air, but mixed with that child like glee of spoops and ghouls and goblins and witches. One of my favorite places in the world.
I've yet to make it up to Salem, but it's on my bucket list. I'm in NY, so Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow is just a short train ride north, and has quickly become one of my favorite areas in the fall. Heck, any place in New England is beautiful in the fall for me! I LOVE the older aesthetic. Gives me that weird feeling of nostalgia for a time I wasn't alive for.
Cracked open Invisible Man and Mummy, and I'm so glad I got them. A wonderful start to the season and they'll make wonderful display pieces. Can't wait to track down more. My only debate will be if I get the color or black and white versions. Some, like the Creature from the Black Lagoon, feel like they need to be the color version to truly get the details, while others feel more appropriate as Black and White.
For those who've gotten the accessory packs- how are they? I'm really tempted by the Mummy pack. I got the Black and White Mummy, but I see the accessory pack only comes in color. Does anyone have the same combo? If so, how does the B&W look using the color accessories? Not too out of place, I hope.

My Target just put out the Creature, so he's already hitting Targets.
@joshsquash729 I absolutely adore the Mummy accessory set. I have the color version of the Mummy, but I've thought about trying to find the B&W version marked down to keep in the sarcophagus. I don't think he'd look out of place as he's pretty low on color to begin with.
I still haven't seen a single Phantom anywhere in person yet. If I don't see one by mid-October I guess I'll just order online.
I have all 3 accessory sets thus far, and I love them all.

Saw the Creature at my local Target today. I've only been getting the B&W figures, but Creature from the Black Lagoon is my favorite of the Uni Monsters. However, I really don't care for the color paint job. The green is darker than I expected, though I'm OK with it. But the gold highlights I just found really off-putting. (I've always disliked color versions of the Gill Man having red lips.) I have the Diamond Select figures and the Sideshow statue and the gold on the NECA just looks really heavy to my eyes. Maybe I'd be more forgiving if it was on sale, but I'm still trying to track down a B&W Bride.
Can someone explain to me the 3 heads? It looks like open mouth, closed mouth and... somewhat less open mouth? Am I missing something?

Had the $10 off $60 coupon at Target, so I snagged a couple. They had Creature from the Black Lagoon, and the B&W versions of Wolf Man and Frankenstein. Grabbed Creature and Frankie's Monster (B&W).
I do wish the creature came with a net or something, but that's easy enough to track down. He looks fantastic as-is. Love the goldish-brown sheen on him. I'm a sucker for aquatic creatures; it'll be nice to have him to complete the fishy trifecta of him, Abe Sabien, and the Shape of Water creature. Think I'm gonna get a flying stand for him, though. Does anyone have any they like that they feel goes well with heavier NECA figures?
Was unsure as to whether or not to pick up the colored Frankie or B&W (and I'm still unsure, to be honest), but I think I juuuust barely like the B&W Bride more (the black hair with white stripe feels more appropriate/classic to me than brown hair for some reason), so he'll go better with her whenever I get her. When all is said and done, I think my display will be a mix of colored and black/white, which I'm cool with.
The Creature I ordered from Target is estimated to be here Monday, so we'll see. I checked a local store while I was out today and nothing new on the shelves there NECA-wise.
