So, BBTS listed a new pre-order for essentially a blank body for customizing.    It's essentially a Marvel Legends BAF sized blank -  a 9 inch humanoid figure that claims to be 1/12 scale.    The figure comes in 5 colorways -  grey,  a caucasion/peach,  brown, black and purple.

The figure comes with 5 different heads with varying facial expressions,  6 different swappable hairstyles and five pairs of hands -  though none which appear to be weapon gripping - which I think is a mistake.

Additionally they only come with bare feet.    I think perhaps instead of one or two of those sets of open hands, and maybe even instead of one or two of the heads -  I would have preferred a pair of covered/booted feet for more customizing options.    I'm more likely to want big figures like this to be super-hero/super-villain adjacent and those types tend to sport footwear.

I'm trying to decide what characters I might use these for.    Many of the oversized characters we yearn for in the lines we love are more specific than just - big dude...

Still,  I feel like I'll probably order at least a couple because they seem like fun.

They appear to be the ones from this kickstarter

They were ok but a bit loose joint wise or the ones I have were.

Robo has a look at the new figures, and says BBTS said they've been tweaked a bit since then.

They look pretty good, but the hair doesn't seem to sit very well on any of the heads in Robo's video (might be due to early samples, but worth noting).

@felgekarp Yep, I got the Red Hulk version from the original kickstarter and the joints on it were very loose. I recall the folks running that kick said it was to accommodate painting and customizing, and while it was easy to deconstruct, if you just wanted a cool big body you weren't painting, it was also hard to keep together.

This one says the joints have been retooled and my guess is that's for tightness and in that case I think I might pick one up. It's interesting they included some parts that were not in the kick IIRC (the larger c-cup hands) but not others that were (jointed finger hands and boot feet so you don't have toes). I sort of wonder if the preorders go well if we'll get some of those things in an accessory pack.

At $40 the price is pretty good for a 3rd party offering this size. He is QUITE big.

@salemcrow The hair on mine looked pretty decent in person, and it seems to be the exact same molds.

So, I thought I had seen these somewhere before but didn't precisely recall the kickstarter.    Thanks for the reminder.

I am very sad that they dropped the boot feet that came with the kickstarter from this offering as that seems way more useful to me than some of those silly hair options -  or even a couple of the faces.    And I really think at least one standard "holding" hand for a a club, big sword, big gun... whatever would have been a good idea.

Anyway, still debating on whether I go for one or two of these and in which colors.   If I get just one I'll probably default to grey since it seems the most versatile for painting in any direction.   If I think of a particular project before I pull the trigger I might grab a second one of the base color that best suits that project.

What ideas other than Hulk do people have for any oversized body like this?

The thigh swivel looks different from the kickstarter pics. Although maybe they made that change during the kickstarter? I never bought any of these, so I don't know for sure.

I thought these looked pretty bad in Robo's review. Huge pins and odd anatomy. Who has a torso like that?

Totally puzzling that they didn't offer it in green.
