Now, I can't say what other accessories *should* come with a Dracula. It just stands out when every other figure is absolutely packed with stuff.
I'm so excited for Caligari that it never really registered how few accessories he had. I wonder if we're still getting that Sleepwalker conversion table that got shown off at a con a while back.
Funded!
Not only funded, meaning the hooded Order of the Crimson Moon and the black costumed trooper will be available for preorder here shortly, but apparently we’re getting a whole second wave in July
I'm glad their designs are getting traction, but I feel like FMF should take a minute to design a female character or two.
Blood Prince Dracula and Omen of Doom Forgotten Prince will be the Joefest exclusives
The forgotten king looks good and makes sense with his powers. Dracula not so much. Just your typical easy toy variant. Would have preferred a version of him just drenched in blood instead of this translucent red variant.
Do we have pics of wave 3?
@lightsyder no they're not supposed to launch until after wave 1 hits
@thewyldman I understand the classic association would imply a female character, but are we certain that FMF is actually doing Red Riding Hood as a female character? There’s nothing inherent in the name where it’s absolute. The character could just as easily be male, or even a vehicle and operator set.
@detectivehoag They've said they are trying to add a female body to both this line and Naughty or Nice.
I know they've said similar things about their 1/18th lines but their 1/12th stuff seems to sell well enough that they aren;t afraid of expanding their tooling more
Here's me thanking my stars that the con-exclusives are just translucent variants that I absolutely do NOT need. FMF have already got me committed to way more pre-orders for this line than I ever imagined - but the Crimson Moon stuff really hit a sweet spot and actually got me to go back and order more of the first two waves than I had originally intended.
As far as the Dracula figure himself goes though - that guy is going in my Marvel Legends display until the Legends team decides to give me a classic figure of the Count themselves.
I'm kind of glad they moved on from additional "stretch goals" for the Crimson Moon wave and are doing a second wave. I don't know if I'll be as into the second wave of Crimson Moon as I am into the first, but it's possible. I really hope Goregills is part of the second wave.
And in looking at all the fun figures being shipped out by FMF in their 1:18 Eagle Force line right now - there's a lot of that stuff I wouldn't mind seeing make it's way into their 1:12 line eventually.
I’ll be curious to see how they tackle Goregills. Obviously this line is built very heavily on reuse, but a largely scaled body isn’t going to have as much potential as their standard military uniforms.
They got by just painting on the scales at 1/18 and when I talked to Chris from Grindhouse at Power Con, he remarked how impressed he was that the factory replicated his paints for the scales so well, but I don’t see that flying at 1/12. I’m sure they could come up with some scaly creatures for Monster Force, but it’s a lot of tooling with pretty limited potential for paying for itself.
I’m sure they could come up with some scaly creatures for Monster Force,
I think you solved the reuse problem right there and don't forget tooling isn't limited to this line.
Their Voyagers line could easily reuse scaled tooling if they choose to adapt the Terrans from Super Joe:

@thewyldman, huba-wha-? Where'd you hear this? I thought I was on top of all the news and rumors.
I'd never even considered Red Riding Hood as a possibility, but as an old Darkstalkers fan, I 100% approve.
I was assuming we'd get an Agent Harker and maybe a Bride of Donner figure.
