Haven't seen Lexington at Target yet either, but I also now have him in my PoL.

I shipped my Pile of Loot last night with Lex in it, so expect him to start flooding every Target, FYE, Toys R Us if you’re Canadian or time traveling, Best Buy, and hell even WalMart in the next two days purely out of spite on the universe’s behalf.

unrelated: I’m so incredibly angry I spent two weeks trying to find a second Armored Xanatos on card because Johnathan Frakes was going to be at a local con and I though that would look really cool signed, and yesterday I found one at an out of the way Best Buy… just in time for him to cancel his appearance. SIGH! Guess I get to drive back to that far away Best Buy now…

Lex hasn't hit mine yet, but I did get a Pile of Loot in yesterday so maybe it's a good thing since I have no intention of shipping another anytime soon. Hopefully I see him at Target and can just cancel the order.

I picked up an Elisa for a potential custom project because her flowing hair might be perfect. Since the hair is meant to be interchangeable I'm guessing that will be easy, but I can't tell what scale these are in - is she a full 7"? I looked for height comparison images but didn't find any videos with good scale shots.

Would her head/hair look okay on a 1:12 body?

Also, I watched this show a bit as as kid but never since, but Elisa's figure is much more realistically-proportioned than the cartoon - are people happy with that?

@schizm I just opened her up today. She's about 6.25" to the top her head. The hair is pretty big, but if your custom is for a comic book person that might be fine. She's 1:10 scale and looks noticeably larger beside Marvel Legends such as Jean and Mystique. All depends on what you're going for with her. The hair is easy to work with though. It just plugs in via a cube-shaped fitting and is pliable. Easy on, easy off.

As for the figure itself, I think she's pretty well done. She's not flashy, given she's a human in a line of gargoyles, but in terms of matching the reference material she has a case as one of the best in the line. She also looks better in person than in the solicitation shots. I was a little iffy on her face, but in-hand it looks great. I do wish her portraits were more distinct. We basically get a smile, crooked smile with raised eyebrow, and a neutral expression that's not much different from her smile. I'd like something with more aggression. Articulation is pretty basic for a NECA. Legs are fine, torso doesn't do much, and a lack of butterfly joints means she can't two-hand grip a weapon. I ordered a sidearm off of Casting Cave that's supposed to arrive tonight that I'm intending to use with her, but for now, I have her wielding the sidearm that came with the Toy Biz Marvel Legends Deadpool back in the day and it works quite well.

I've found that most of these figures look better in hand than in the promotional photos.

I just got a chance to play Gargoyles Remastered… Jesus fucking Christ what a lousy game, it was already bad for the Genesis but even Goliath himself at noon on the sunniest summer day doesn’t have the sold stone balls big enough required to think this is okay to sell for $15

If you want the Collector’s Edition Goliath figure, congratulations, he’s costing you $170 and you get a boarderline unplayable game with it!

it’s really too bad this is what we get, it’s a bad game, new players aren’t going to play it because it’s bad, casual fans aren’t going to play it because Emulators are free and it’s bad.

If this was a test by Disney to see if there was demand to invest in a new Gargoyles game, congratulations! We’re never getting another Gargoyles game until the end of time!

it’s absolutely baffling this game was not only released as a stand alone product but effort and time was put in to “improving” the graphics (with zero other quality of life features like fixing the games jank ass hit boxes)

anyway… Macbeth and Coldstone still not up for pre-order, huh? I know we’re supposed to keep pretending the line is going great but how long after the last figure that went up for pre-order is out in stores with no sign another is coming until we’re allowed to start worrying?

I don't think it's time to worry about MacBeth or Coldstone at all.  We only just saw them at SDCC.  Coldstone we'd only seen on the cover of that toy magazine before.  And all kinds of stuff is hitting right now, my PoL has like five Gargoyles figures in it.  It's just normal release pattern, I'd say.

@doc-baghead

How many times have people freaked out on this line alone because one of the characters hadn't gone up for pre-order "fast enough" for one reason or another?  I don't know why you think that would indicate anything about the line's health when it's pretty par for the course.

Also for real, there's what, five-six figures that all hit within the last two or three months?  People gotta have time to buy and appreciate what they just got I'd think.

Is this line really about to spark as much controversy as a Marvel Legends Haslab project?

In the long run, we'll see how it does. I know I'm looking forward to Macbeth, Coldstone, Gabriel, Detective Broadway, and the Vows two-pack... and I hope they get to the Pack (I am sure they have sculpts already).

And you know what, if what we have now is all we get... we have all the main characters. The regulars on the show were Goliath, Elisa Maza, Hudson, Brooklyn, Lexington, Broadway, Angela, Bronx, David Xanatos, and Demona. We have all of those characters... two versions of Xanatos. Thailog. The Steel Clan robot.

Everything else is gravy.

That said, I like gravy. So I hope we get more. Many more.

I just need a Griff and then the line can rest.

I got Elisa, Xanatos and Lexington within a month and a half, so it was a heavy period of releases for me (saw both the regular Steel Clan and Xanatos version but passed).

I'll get detective Broadway for his wings, and whomever comes with Hudson's wings, but I don't know how much more than that I really want, especially if the new gargoyles are only coming with outstretched wings (they could change it up for future figures if they wanted to, since they know there's been complaints).

@doc-baghead I do feel bad for people that got excited about that game getting re-released. Especially if they paid 35 (or more) bucks for a physical copy. I did see it has a rewind feature, so that's one quality of life improvement, but the game is what it is. It came out late on the Genesis so a lot of people didn't play it, but it was a bad game. Great graphics for a 16-bit title, but otherwise pretty terrible. It's a shame that Gargoyles didn't get a game when Capcom was handling all of the Disney Afternoon properties. Some of those games were at least pretty good. Goof Troop is one that was slept on, but it's a real interesting game with surprising ties to Resident Evil, of all franchises. Anyway, I hope the sales of that remaster aren't being used by Disney to gauge the popularity of the franchise. I'm thinking it's more about just easy money, someone may have even approached Disney about doing it, and the show's 30th is coming up next year so the timing probably seemed right.

The game sucks. I didn't have a Genesis back in the day but I had a friend who did and I am still confused by some of the choices. None of the other gargoyles appear, no Elisa, no Xanatos... but that's not why it's a bad game. The gameplay... when people talk about cheap cash in licensed titles, this is what they're talking about.

I bought the big box set, but that's because I wanted everything else in the set, not the game.
