Target put those all out seemingly at once.
I haven't seen anything from this line hit with tremendous abundance, like the type of drops we're seeing out of NECA and TMNT, but they probably averaged a release per month in the second half of last year. Maybe less? I've lost track. The last figures I got close together were Brooklyn and Broadway, and that's because I got them from BBTS which seems to get more than one at a time after they've been around at brick and mortar for a little while. There was a steady flow last year though heading into the fall that came to an end. We may very well be in for the same later this year. NECA did just drop the Goliath/Demona two-pack and now detective Broadway, or whatever they're calling him. Probably a bit premature to go full doom and gloom, but any concerns someone had last summer about figures beyond what they've shown are still valid. We probably won't really know until San Diego what the future of the line is unless someone from NECA hops on camera or a podcast for an interview or something.
I've decided to wait out a discount on trenchcoat Broadway. I've seen a lot of Gargoyles stuff go that way eventually, and while I was fine with buying other characters to get wing options, I'm not that interested in duping characters to do so. Especially when I already hate soft goods accessories at this scale.
If the line is coming to a premature end, then I think it’s going pretty clear what killed the line - the wings. Nearly every complaint about this line has been about the wings. Had they gone with nearly name other wing style than the ones they went with people would have been happier. Articulated wings or ‘at rest’ wings seem to be what most wanted.
Hopefully we aren’t done. As long as ColdStone and MacBeth come out, I would feel more or less complete if we only got Owen beyond them.
Owen is a must, though I was also really hoping for the Archmage, all souped up from the Avalon arc.
Though I suppose not getting Staghorn or Coldfire is a bummer too, since both are significant additions to the cast in the comics.
I just want them to get out that MacBeth and Coldstone they've already shown. The collection is already, more or less, complete for me as-is minus some better wings, but I'm also not interested in rebuying figures for better wings so I'll learn to live with what I have. If NECA were to announce Fox or Wolf in their Pack attire I wouldn't even be interested because I need the full team if I'm going to go down that road and having only one or two is the sort of thing that would bother me if the line ended.
Does anyone want a Broadway with no wings? (Because I'm keeping the new head & pair of hands, cape, food, and hat & coat lol...)
I was just looking at the Eye of Odin necklace that comes with Xanatos...and saw that it doesn't have a green orb in the middle! Its just the gold setting, but no jewel!
Is this a defect in mine?
Huh. Why? Shouldn't there be a blue orb inside?
If there is no news by July at SDCC I think that will be very telling.
I’m generally pretty happy with what I have. I want Hudson’s wing cape option. I would love Coldstone and MacBeth. Owen would be a treat. I guess we’ll see.
Thwipp!
I’m not giving up hope on Coldstone and Macbeth (Gabriel though…) until Comical Con rolls around and Blain and Stefan dodge questions about the line like Trinity fighting Agent Smith.
There has been a lot of Gargoyles releases this year, just not particularly exciting ones (Vows two-pack, Detective Broadway, refreshers on single Demona and Bronx, and I’m really hoping somewhere a factory is producing the balance of Lexingtons EE and BBTS needs to fill standing orders, if people start getting “we are unable to fulfill your order” emails about him it’s over) so the line isn’t “dead dead”, it’s just not churning out *new* products.
On the one hand NECA hates wasting finished sculpts and is currently in good standing with Disney (Alien, Predator, PotA reissues, KidRobot does even more with Disney proper) so I could see Macbeth and Coldstone releasing somehow someday even they miss Q2 2024, like Ulimate DMC1 Dante and GoW3 Kratos, but on the other hand… still Vegetable Gremlin so (shrug emoji)

Blaine did a Q&A on Instagram a couple weeks ago. He said there'd be news on Coldstone and Macbeth at SDCC. He was also asked if characters from the comic are being considered and he said that's actually been discussed, the line is still young and there are still characters from the show they want to do first but eventually they'd like to make figures of characters introduced in the comic.
Not sure if that's dodging questions, but who knows?
DM Galloway also said on Twitter that he's working on more stop motion Gargoyles commercials that we'll see later in the year.
@whitehawk345 Now that’s the kind of news you can use this thread needed!
Had no idea about the Blainer Q&A but him saying news at Comical Con for MacB and ColdStone is good enough for me to confirm they’re at least coming. (Unless the news is just shouting “Line’s canceled!” and double birding us… butt why would he do that?!?!)
The only figures from the comics I *need* are Dino Drakkon and his men in their rubber Gargoyles masks, if NECA won’t make them I’m getting some cheap Retro Card Suit Tombstones and making them myself, dammit!
@doc-baghead to each their own, but I need a Gnash, Katana, Fu-Dong and TimeDancer Brooklyn at least.
