That sounds hilarious! Can you post pics of these swaps?

“Vows Xanatos” and “Tech Armor Drac” (who because his neck is sooo long is giving me Hotel Transylvania vibes)

you can also put David’s head on classic Drac if you want him in a Halloween costume, but Drac’s neck is too long to wear David’s modern business causal blazer and slacks look, maybe if you push the head all the down it works, but I didn’t want to risk it getting stuck for the joke.

Yay, NECA ankles...Xanatos took a dive off the highest shelf in my entire collection, took a Plunderling down with him (I have them with the Gargoyles, because that's where they seem to fit the best), and hit Mafex Homelander on his way down. And his floppy disk (ironic, because NECA's floppy ankles are the bane of my f***ing existence) is gone to the "Hardwood Monster" (since I don't have carpet in this apartment).

@tenime NECA ankles are the bane of my existence. I feel your pain. I have a Flash Gordon figure that has NEVER stood upright since I've had him. He's fallen off the shelf (and into other figures) so many times that I finally gave up and have him "lounging" back against the back wall. My Demona has almost all her weight back on her tail to keep her from pitching forward onto the floor.

My Lexington left bicep swivel broke straight out of the box.  Is that a thing or am I just lucky?

Happened to mine as well.

Mine's still plenty intact. Was it resisting when you twisted it or something?

My Lexington's arm is fine, too. Sorry yours wasn't.

No crazy amount of resistance or anything. His wing helps keep the arm in place at a certain angle so that's how I'll display him. I don't have much from NECA, but heard they used to be prone to breakage.

Not especially. But I haven't had anything like that break in forever and a day at this point.  Outside of stuff like the clear plastic on things rotting...but that's the fault of using clear plastic.

@lb876

Literally every single last Foot Soldier I have from them (Toon AND Movie) can't stand up, because of their ankles (which peg stands don't do sh** for - waist stands are needed, and those take up a lot of room, and are way more expensive to acquire), and my Movie 1 Leo's scabbards are in pieces (glued back together literally 20 or 30 times) because of his constant falling (I finally just put him in a sitting pose, because I am f***ing furious).

Though, putting the Gargoyles' weight on their tails like a tripod has been unreliable for me as well, as that hinge is even looser than my Foot Soldier ankles. I would love a "tripod" tail with the hopefully inevitable "relaxed" wings, where it's like the old Kenner figures' tails - just a solid piece of hard plastic, no bendy, no hinge, just a plug.

Only NECA figure I've had deteriorate was the Misfits Christmas fiend figure where the double-ball peg just crumbled when I turned the figure's head after I had it for about a year. That figure is on the retro cloth body and I don't know what they use for it, but it has a different feel from their other action figures. I don't have any others on that body. The thing crumbled like a piece of clay though which was aggravating. I just glued it back on.

I still have been pretty lucky with ankles though. The only one I have that's too loose is TMNT Adventures Dreadmon. He can't stand for crap, and as Tenime noted, those little disc stands do nothing for loose ankles. Only looseness I've had with this particular line was Demona's wings which I had to use superglue to fix. The ankles have been okay and I just turn the tails so the hinge is perpendicular with the shelf to make them more secure as a tripod. Most of the figures haven't needed the tail to stand, but it's a nice thing to have to prevent shelf dives.

I'm having trouble picturing your tail hinge positioning. Perpendicular to a horizontal shelf would then make the tail stick straight out backwards (unless bendy-bent, but would still not be vertical downward). Unless I'm confused about perpendicular vs parallel.
