@toonturts I saw that same review, but I took the time to heat the backpack up and pull the tab out a bit, so it slips on without an issue for me. According to that guy's video, he had a flathead screwdriver up in there, so he may have forced it too much.
Looks like some vintage inspired redecos are on the way for this line. I'm content with what I have, but I know a few people who will want that Warduke. Looks like they will come with less stuff (hands, mostly), but if Strongheart is any indication they'll also be cheaper: https://store.ign.com/products/dungeons-dragons-7-scale-action-figure-limited-50th-anniversary-edition-strongheart-figure

Interesting... I like some of these but not enough to rebuy figures I already bought. On the other hand I was just wondering, earlier today, if I could get an inexpensive Warduke to harvest the head for a custom. This might be easier than that.
Elkhorn review...
Four more figures have been announced by NECA. Vintage toy style re-paints of Strongheart, Warduke, Zarak and Elkhorn.
They are all being released as cardbacks with slightly less accessories though, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons.
Thanks for posting the Dorklair review, Mister Skeezler! I plan on doing that exact headswap - the ML headpack dwarf on the Elkhorn body, as I prefer it to the stock Elkhorn head, and I plan on using him as a generic adventurer on my fantasy shelf. I will need to sculpt a socket for the inside so the ball joint fits in snug.
For anyone still thinking about Zarak, he's on sale on Alieexpress for $22.27 with free shipping, from a couple of sellers. I'm expecting mine to come in a damaged box, which is fine by me, for the price. I'll report back when he comes in about whether he's totally legit.
Repaints are cool enough, but some new announcements would be great.
I would prefer it if these re-paints were released in boxes instead of cardbacks. As a result, I'll probably end up passing on them as if I were to buy them, I would want to open them, but that then destroys the packaging so I will have nowhere then to store them, (I don't display all of my figures at once, most of my collection gets rotated in and out of their boxes).
I get the historical reasons for it though, so for the people that want them Mint-On-Card, that is good news for them.
Got Elkhorn today, and he’s awesome, but what actually fits in that knapsack? The jewels won’t. The hands seem creepy to store in there. Also wish there was a hook for his jug on the pack or his belt.
I never really bother putting things in the storage bags/containers etc. that come with figures. It's not like you are going to see anything you put inside his backpack anyway.
I see the backpack more as something that looks good on the figure, and that has some external storage spaces on either side for a weapon.

That's for your Longbottom Leaf Pipe-Weed.
Looks like LJN Warduke is a Walmart exclusive for this terrible, terrible con?
@detrimental-fig Oooooh, I don't need the OG colour versions but damn, I have a fatal weakness for green flame...
I like the alternate colour's of Warduke displayed on the card-back, more than the vintage paint scheme of the actual figure itself.
