They'd be crazy to not scale them to the Palisades line unless they think they can get the Muppets license too

At around 4 minutes in the below video, Zach announced that the next Muppet figures DST is making will be Lips and Lew Zealand! I am so excited!!! Those are the two I want most. This is great. I'm so excited to see what they look like.

I'll certainly be adding Lips to my existing electric mayhem display. 

I'm torn on the news of the new Sesame Street line from NECA. They look amazing, but one of the reasons I packed up my Palisades stuff was because they were too big to display. One of the good things about the DST line is the size works great with the Palisades sets and I can contain all of them on one shelf. 

Lew might've been my 2nd favorite after Fozzy when I was a kid so this is great news.  I just watched his debut episode a few days ago, so he was fresh on my mind for figure wants.  Crazy timing.  And I'll take Lips as a 2nd.  The more band members the better.

I share the reluctance of picking up on the NECA Sesame line, but I’m sure that once I see them in hand, I won’t be able to resist. I love the Palisades line, but it’s dated in articulation for many characters. They’re larger and do take up more room. I haven’t dug them out of storage for easily a decade, maybe more. I’m sure that I’ll unearth them once NECA’s figures come out, but there’s no room for me to display them. However, I know how satisfied I’ll be seeing both properties together. Makes me reconsider picking up Fraggles. I wasn’t as attached to them as Sesame Street, but now I’d feel like my collection is incomplete without this trinity of properties.

I also have mixed feelings about the NECA Sesame Street figures, though I am mostly excited. On the one hand, I am absolutely thrilled that my dream of creating A Muppet Family Christmas display is finally becoming possible. I am so excited we will have figures from the three properties that will all fit with each other. On the other hand, I would have preferred the Sesame Street and Fraggle figures scaled with the DST Muppets instead because that's an ongoing line and smaller scale. I think I'll need a whole table to fit all the figures together. Overall, I'm super pumped!

What do folks think would be the reaction if DST started making Muppet figures that scale with Palisades? I don't know if that is even a possibility with the license or something DST would even consider. I could see some pretty strong reactions because the Palisades line is viewed as almost sacred to some folks. Personally, I think it would be cool to get some new figures with updated articulation, especially Kermit and Miss Piggy. Maybe get some characters Palisades never got to, like Sal, Louis Kazagger, Nigel, Bobby Benson and his baby band, and Thog. I could see them being a big hit or a disaster.

As I said in my previous post, I am thrilled DST is making Lips and Lew Zealand! I did not think we would ever be getting DST figures of these two. I wonder when we'll see some prototypes or renders. Maybe at NYCC in October? I wonder what outfit Lips will be in. I hope it's the white dashiki shirt. Awesome news!

Saw the Sesame Street figures in person this weekend and I'll tell you this: they are absolutely stunning. I can't imagine any Muppet collector would be able to resist them in person no matter the scale. Colors, texture, accessories and even articulation looked on point. No notes, just don't make them hard to buy.  

I have no hesitation on the NECA Sesame Street line.  I have three shelves of Palisades Muppets.  I'll have to move some stuff around, but Sesame Street and Fraggles will go on the shelve(s) below.  Palisades-style Sesame Street is a dream come true, I've been waiting for these since Palisades went out of business.

I would be down for DST producing Muppets in the same scale if they are improvements over Palisades.  I'm more than happy to upgrade and/or add-on. 

I’d prefer to keep supporting the DST line. Palisades had its moment to shine. They did so much so well, but today, I prefer the smaller scale of Diamond’s figures.

@MSWord Lips and Lew are excellent picks! Thanks for choosing the two figures I want most. Did y'all show any images of renders or concept art at your SDCC panel? If so, are you able to share them here? Do you have any updates on when Deadly and Pepe will ship? Thanks.

Deadly and Pepe are overdue, they should arrive soon.

No development art on Lips and Lew, but sculpt is finished, and it will be a white dashiki. 

No plans to make larger Muppets figures. We like 1/10 scale. 

@msword Thanks for answering my questions! It's great to see that y'all are steadily working on new Muppet figures with new ones getting announced as others start to ship. I assume that gives other collectors confidence to continue supporting the line. It's nice anticipating getting new figures in hand while also seeing prototypes and design art of upcoming figures. I'm ready to ship my bbts pol as soon as Deadly and Pepe hit.

Question - is the Diamond Kermit/Piggy 2-pack getting a reissue? I see it up as an August preorder from Entertainment Earth for a good price, but worried it may be an errant listing, as it's unavailable everywhere else. 

@hopethisworks I think that listing is accurate. Big Bad Toy Store recently got that 2 pack back in stock. I assume Entertainment Earth will have them in stock shortly, if not already. I think Diamond Select did another run of many of their Muppets line packs that have been coming in stock at online retailers the last few weeks.
